It will likely be published by Sony too seeing as they are developing it...

Meaning Sony will own the I.P due to the fact that they have decided to always own a I.P that they are publishing after the Crash/Spyro fiasco


That and if this does turn out to be Demon Souls 2, Sony has no need to try and claim it seeing as they already own the I.P

Then why are people complaining, if this part of the rumor is true, about SCE co-developing the title with From Software main team. SCE would have all the rights to have it exclusive for their systems. It is almost like they are taking the studio (From) for granted and omitting Japan Studio (SCEJ) possible/plausible input and output in this project. Why can people just be happy together at this "possible" awesome news? Why can we have both, From's Dark Souls series and SCE co-developed titles?

Most of the port begging were asking for a PC port. A few for Xbox. Although, all of them made the same mistake, they all omitted the part in the rumor that says that Japan Studio (SCEJ) might be co-developing the game with From's main team.

Port begging contributes little to the established rumor. And we had our share but the mods thankfully cracked down on that.

I guess it could be inferred that if the only outlet regurgitating the rumor is a non gaming-centric place like Forbes, that it speaks volumes as to the silence coming from outlets that would undoubtedly know something a bit more like Giantbomb, Kotaku, Polygon, Eurogamer, etc... They wouldn't want to bite the hand that feeds them and risk getting less info slung their way.

Contrast the silence regarding this rumor (that I'm sure is real) with the news stories these same sites ran re: the Fallout 4 ARG that turned out to be fake. It was a rumor but they still ran with it. This? Crickets. I'd say that's even more damning.

I bet these sites are chomping at the bit to post even the tiniest morsel and rake in those hits but can't because of embargoes.

Why would From's most important staff be stopping work on the dark souls games for the sake of working on a mechanically-identical DeS sequel that will be released on only one platform? It's nice to want things, but I don't think it's very likely.

I don't doubt they're making another game, I just doubt it's DeS2. Sony has no money for moneyhats and the PS4's already won.

Listen, From Software isn't making a PS4 exclusive, they are probably working on Dark Souls II for Xbox One and maybe PS4 too.

Im just disgusted that some deranged Sony fan would go through such an elaborate hoax and create this Project Beast rumor with those fake-ass pics just for the "console war".

I am probably not going to buy a ps4 for just this game, even though I love Demons souls with all my heart.

If it's not being directed by Miyazaki that's probably just going to ruin my hype completely though, so I really hope it's being done by Miyazaki.

But I am really happy that we are getting something that has the potential to be the triumphant true successor to Dark Souls and Demons Souls. Dark Souls 2 was a big disappointment for me, because there are so many glaring design problems. And there was just a lack of creative heart and mystique.

This seemingly new paradigm shift in the setting in the franchise will hopefully bring a lot much needed gameplay changes, I really want to play something that feels like a spiritual successor to Dark Souls but not something exactly like it. With the inclusion of zombie looking characters I doubt there will be hollows and so fourth.

You realize that's not what I was taking about at all. I'm saying Atlus didn't want the sequel. It wasn't Sony that shot it down. It's obvious From did Dark Souls as a way around the Sony deal and involvement in the original Demons' Souls. And I'm saying that's underhanded. If Sony wasn't interested in the sequel, that would be different, but that wasn't the case.

What does Atlus have to do with anything? And why do you think they didn't want to be involved with a sequel, spiritual or otherwise, to the best-selling game they ever published?
