Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 7: How Can My Smash Brother Be This Cut

Ew, Roy is the worst lord ever.

I just want Roy back because I really like his playstyle. I haven't actually played any of the pre-FE7 FE games, I should probably EBay them and a Famicom/Super Famicom at some point.

How angry would you guys get if they had no other FE reps besides marth?

The only circumstance I would be okay with this in is if we got an Advance Wars rep instead. Otherwise this could legit hurt my opinion of the game.

She has reasonable justification for using practically any weapon in the franchise (being the person who sells them) and generally has a lot more history than a lot of other potential picks..

Her final Smash should be raining money. Enough coins to make even Wario jealous.

You aren't wrong. Those who think Anna has a shot seem to be completely stuck in a Fire Emblem echo chamber. Could you even imagine press coverage if she was revealed? "Some random character from Fire Emblem you've never heard of joins Smash Bros.!" Think about it from the perspective of outside the FE fandom and it's pretty easy to see why it's absurd.
FE wasn't even localized when Melee came out. Lucas was in Smash, and Mother 3 still hasn't been officially localized in the West. I don't think it matters that much how much of the 'press' would recognize a particular character.

Well if it makes you feel better, here's Kuma. He should represent any and everything.

Oh god deflated Teddie lol

Someone proposed an idea elsewhere that I fell in love with instantly. The idea was she'd just throw you into a sack or bag you up and stomp you out in a "big ball of violence" manner with coins jingling all about. When the animation finished, you'd get launched out of the sack with a cha-ching sound effect.

That basically sounds like Peacock's grab animation.

It's a little easier to explain where a character comes from and why they're important when they are the star of their own game. Anna is, for the most part, an incredibly minor recurring character in a series that isn't super well known. She's incomparably minor to basically any playable character in Smash Bros. history.

Banjo-Kazooie.

If we're strictly going with Nintendo franchises, I'd probably have to go with Ashley. She has so much potential, so it's a bummer that she's only an assist trophy.

I never understood why Ashley was so popular. She's not even the best Wario Ware character. 9-volt, Orbulon, Mona, Jimmy... basically all the characters in the first game are way cooler.

People should do whatever they want since that's their wishes to see the characters that they want to see.

I'm curious what is your top 10 newcomers?

That haven't been revealed yet? Okay, let's see...

Isaac
Waddle Dee
Shulk
Cranky Kong
Tingle
Mii
Chibi-Robo
Palutena
Adam Malkovich
Pac-Man

Leaving Mike out, since StarTropics wasn't even referenced in Brawl...

So yeah, I would never even entertain the idea of ridiculing somebody else's choices, because I still recognise that most of these probably never even crossed Sakurai's mind.

9-Volt would be my pick, he could also rep a bunch of retro games that wouldn't be playable otherwise.

Yeah, but I don't think it'd be exceptionally difficult just to say she's the mascot of FE. Because she kind of is. She has 'comparatively minor' roles in the games, but she's in all the games. For anyone who's picked up an FE game, chances are they're at least marginally familiar with her. I'd say she's definitely a step above the recognition chart than many other FE picks.

I mean, yes, a Lord definitely makes more sense to explain to someone unfamiliar with the franchise (since they are the 'stars'), but once you take a look at the tier below that (maybe because you want to get away from the general style of an FE Lord in a Smash game), then I think Anna starts making a lot more sense.

9-Volt, Mona and Jimmy are basically the mascots of WarioWare next to Wario himself, so they really ought to have first priority if anyone was going to be playable.

I could see Mona maybe being an issue since she doesn't have a set design unlike Jimmy and 9-Volt, but she's still pretty recognizable until Game & Wario.

A shopkeeper in Smash sounds like a hilarious idea.

Also Jesus I did a google search to see what Anna looked like in other games and now I wish I didn't

She's the girl next door living in that haunted mansion. You'd better learn her name 'cause she's the great Ashley.

Yeah, it's mostly because some fans like her more than they like the WarioWare series. Ambiguously evil girl that can rule the world and still finish all her homework.

Japan.

Japan, Japan, Japan.

The same country that loves anime girl characters like Miku, those things from lucky star and whatever sailor moon is.

hah! Never image search anything ever!

No man, she's got that rad-ass theme song

Captain Syrup is still the best 2nd Wario Rep to me. We're overdue a pirate character anyway now that there's 2 ninjas.

Grit or Gage?
I've long had an idea for a sniper special attack. Hold B and the sniper slings the rifle from his back over his head slowly, counter-clockwise from 270 degrees to 180. Press Grab to fire a bullet at the current angle,

Andy is the obvious pick

*searches up "Anna fire emblem" on google images*

OH WTF

4th line isn't the worst I've seen....

A lot of people in the west like her too.

She's mandy

Mandy is always popular. That cute Dark Juxtaposition is always a winner.

Advance Wars totally should get someone but I have like zero knowledge of the series and would probably propose something fans of the series would hate like an Andy/Sami team character.

You could be like me and suggest Lin.

Then everyone will accuse you of being my alternate account...
