Nintendo E3 2014 - discussion thread for their E3 plans

I don't think anyone noticed my first post, but again I'd like to be on the hype train as well (which ever one we're using), if it's not to much trouble. Alternatively, I could add myself, if someone has a file, that wasn't already flatten. please, and thank you.

To me it just seemed like they were highlighting that the new games will be at the Digital Event and not all the others. Like, we have a Smash tournament, we have the Treehouse... But the Digital Event is the one you really want.

It's still an odd way to say it and announce it, though.
And they aren't calling it a Direct.
This is all very un Nintendo like.
I'm not saying there will be megatons there, but it's definitely will be more than many are expecting. It will probably be quite the show.

At the very least they're going to reveal Zelda U, Pokken and the 3DS's holiday title (Metroid pls).

Calling it now, The Nintendo 2DS Advance will be announced which will have similar specs to the 2DS, but have a swivel top screen like the Hiptops:

I don't. I just want a Metroid (without Miyamoto being involved, obviously) and also a good Zelda (preferably without Miyamoto's influence as well).

I am sorry, I just despise what this dude is doing to Nintendo games for the past decade (see what he did to Paper Mario Sticker Star). He is not really a "genius" anymore.

DS emulation.

What we can presumably expect:
Indy showreel
New miyamoto IP.
NFC game
HD ports from GameCube
Funded exclusives a la Bayonetta 2.
Fast Racing Neo
Discussion about a software update for Wii U OS.


Fingers crossed for:
Revival of old franchises; 1080 snowboarding, waverace, starfox, metriod, etc done by in house studios
Another partnership of Nintendo IP
Account system OR AT LEAST a trophy system (as has been flung around before, stickers would be very Nintendo)
Wii U Pokémon of some sort.
CoD advanced wars Wii u reveal.

Head in the clouds:
Japanese garden tech demo was shenmue 3.
 
Man this will be one of the worst E3 shows for Nintendo, up there with 2008's.

I'm happy there's an element of "unknown" this year. Last year was a little too predictable. There may not be anything unexpected of course, but it's nice to have an e3 thread where a lot of possibilities are being considered.

Personally I want the new ip too. Pikmin at e3 2001 I believe? Was so refreshing :) Also it will be a Wii U game.

Should we really be doing hype train pics? Last 5+ years all the Nintendo discussion/hype threads were closed because of them. I hope you guys know that if you continue doing the pics there's a high chance this thread gets closed too. I would stop while we actually have a thread.

Speaking of Nintendo's e3 - I hope they show us one surprise, either a brand new franchise or starfox / metroid

Agree with big screen, but then a portable wii u controller will do the job.
(with better huger screen, acu, and smaller design)

Then again, i would like to see something new.
Couldn't they create a hologram cube and name it holocube ? :)
It's the next step closer to vr in reality.
 
That train should be on Rainbow Road in zero Gravity
while on fire, halfway through its Megazord transformation, with fighting Pokémon on-board while being driven by Reggie Fils-A-Mech

I think it's just a case of wording, they know how underwhelming their whole thing was last year. And they need to step it up now more than ever. It's still going to basically be a direct, but they probably want to distance themselves from that to make it feel more 'special'. Whether that means megatons or not I guess we'll see, but I think it's purely from an attempt to not mess it up.
