Those guys must be before my time. I didn't start reading gaf until around 2008 or so. Didn't get approved to post until a couple years ago.
Although, now that it's been mentioned I do vaguely recall a mod getting the boot for trolling of some sort.

An advanced AI that was developed at NeoGAF HQ for the task of making moderating the forums an easier venture. Shortly after gaining sentience, the AI killed everyone at HQ (think of the mods as the avengers and NeoGAF HQ as the Avengers Tower) and learned how to model itself as each of the different people that it took out. Now it attacks its victims using machinary found near the terminal that they post to GAF from. My current speculation is that about 95% of the moderation and admin staff is under its control while about 30% of the regular members are under its control. I can't speak for what it will do once it completely assimilates the entirety of the NeoGAF user base.
