We visited Insomniac HQ in Burbank, California to be the first media in the world to play Sunset Overdrive as the studio explained how it intends to put the fun back into shooters the game brings to mind Tony Hawk, Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Prince Of Persia and the blue skies and bright colours of the Dreamcast era.
You might have me at blue skies and Dreamcast. Been a fan of/playing Insomniac games since Spyro and Disruptor, but I too gotta echo the sentiment that they've really haven't done it for me as of late. Haven't played Fuse or Resistance 3 yet, but the last few Ratchet titles (which is a series I am/was a big fan of) have been super disappointing and forgettable. It would be cool if this Sunset game brings back what I liked about their games (there better be Skill Points!), but there's so little on the game right now that it's hard to pass any sort of judgment on it. Is this a focused single-player game, by the way? I know next to nothing about it aside from that teaser trailer they showed last E3.
