A reboot of Mighty Morphin is the only way it makes sense, glad they are going to go for it. Only thing is I hope the CG isn't awful.

And lol at getting the old actors back, that ain't happening. And nor should it.

Woah, let's not be too hasty.

Wrote this quickly.

Power Rangers is a curious beast. I dug the show. But it's not for the writing or acting. So really curious where they head with the film. Like I imagine we expect better, but how much so before it isn't Power Rangers.

Oh man, they should totally get Sam Raimi!

Maybe they'll do something with Go-busters...?

Actually the tone and style of Gobusters would be perfect to repurpose to chase the modern superhero movie audience.

I have no faith they can pull this off. Nothing I've seen of Saban's work suggest they can write a movie that would appeal to the nostalgic 20-somethings superhero movies are made for now and everything I've seen of their work suggests they're capable of making a good children's movie.* They could pull it off, but I doubt it.

*Contrary to popular belief, being made for children doesn't excuse something from being crap. Mind you, the original MMPR is pretty bad, but it at least had a better understanding of tone and character than any of Saban's current joints.

haven't they been remaking MMPR every year since saban got the license back?

Just give me the sequel everyone wanted, the one to MMPR the movie.

Also give me another beat em up game.

My 6 year old will be excited. He inherited my power ranger toys from the first generation. I'm still pissed that my mom gave him a brand-new Dragonzord / Green Ranger. I asked for that when I was younger. She bought it and stuck it in a chest. She says "It's meant to be played with." so she gives it to him. My mom is trolling me 20 years later. sigh.

Saban needs to stop the nostalgia-wanking on the actual shows.
There was no point to adding Bulk in Samurai.
The mentors of Megaforce are such a blatant Zordon/Alpha parallel that it's almost cynical. Doesn't help that Gosei (new-Zordon) is a dreadful mentor that only serves to give them new powers to fit the Sentai footage.

Red from Dekaranger had a decent acting career too. Apparently everyone should strive to be SPD Red.

And that godawful robot, and they literally forgot the Roboknight.

Lord Zed should not be in this as the main villain, no. He should appear at the end almost like
Thanos
at the end of Avengers.

This should focus on Red. Second movie bring in Green (and maybe end with losing his powers, teasing with white), then move to White. Ninja after all that.

As for Amy Jo, apart from that one gif above she really doesn't look that great anymore.

Neo Saban has been terrible so far ever since they got the license back so i kinda have no faith in the movie. Samurai/Super/Megaforce is dogshit with cardboard acting/really fucking terrible voice overs/direct ripoff from the sentai counterpart storylines and throwing in more confusing questions and handwaving them away like in super mega force.

I fucking hope Dino charge will be better since Judd Lynn is taking charge.

I've been wanting this forever, although I'd like it if instead of a reboot it fit into continuity. PR continuity is so loose you can have another Ranger team without mentioning any connections other than some cameos anyway.

The nostalgia wouldn't be a problem if there was an actual story being told or if the characters had anything resembling a personality. The MMPR team were a bunch of bland goodie goods, but at least the actors didn't talk like braindead kindergarten teachers.

I thought the judd lynn thing was a joke?

I'd be interested to see what they come up with. I'll identify myself as a JDF booster; he may just be fighting to stay relevant but he's the only cast member who appears to not actively disdain his past ties to the show and his fans, good on him for that.

Yeaaah... this too.
They really need better writers & directors. I do see potential in some of the actors, but they're so underdeveloped and poorly directed that they leave no impact.
It doesn't help that every other episode has had a "We need to protect the earth, because the earth is awesome. Isn't the earth awesome guys" scene, and we get sugary shit like the dream episode (Emma sounds the most like a Kindergarten teacher)

Nope, he's confirmed as executive producer.

Aren't quote a few past cast members show up at conventions?

Aw, that's not true, but he may be the only one who actively takes advantage of them.

I hope it doesn't suck, but JDF claims it was his idea so I know who to blame if it does. They need to get the Pacific Rim guys for the zord fights. Also, no armoured costumes, for the love of god.
