Am I the only that thinks this sounds more like sequels than remakes? I hope that's what they mean.

The "fresh take" sounds like they will just remake all the concepts from scratch rather than follow what was already made in the original source like FR/LG and HGSS did.

Yeah LGFR came out earlier than Emerald.

That is why I said I don't want to discuss this here anymore, for some reason you assume I never played Pokemon past gen 1 when I pretty much have played most including X & Y. I absolutely have no interest in competitive Pokemon as it is right now and I don't think that disqualifies my opinion. To think that what we got so far is the ceiling of what a Pokemon game could have being is just sad. Nintendo plays this franchise safer than any other.

But that's that though - the bulk of the changes are generally in the competitive side, even in Gen 2.

Gonna go buy a 2DS (don't care for 3D plus it's cheaper) along with Pokemon Y tomorrow. God, this announcement made my day. I love Gen 3. In my opinion, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald has the best music out of all the game. Them trumpets, yo!

Pokémon never gets announced at E3. It gets teased a bit (Masuda's Twitter in this case) then it gets revealed.

They're definitely laying on the whole BRAND NEW WORLD thing, but I have to assume they take place in Hoenn and this is all so much PR hot air. I can definitely see them fixing it up a bit though, in the same way that HGSS tried to fix Kanto up a bit.

Well, every generation besides the first one is the worst to someone. Actually, I've seen people hating on Gen 1 once. My personal worst is Gen 2.

Emerald is the best pokemon game with platinum and HG/SS at least in terms of single player. Hoenn is the best region though.

For me, I'm going in neutral/optimistically because of just how much the games have changed since then. There's no way they could hit us with another "lol reboot Pokemon distribution and no transfers of older mon until FireRed/Leaf Green drop" so for that much I'm already excited.

Problems were debatable for Gen 2. In Gen 3 they were clearly problems. Losing day night time feature. What are you talking about? Gen 2 had the least creative new designs, a story that was essentially exactly the same as before, and each region was barren to make up for the fact that another one was added on. And gem 3s music was the best in the series.

I honesty didn't know people had so much problem with the water, I didn't notice at all. It's better than something like Sinnoh's central mountain range, that was the worst.

I made a comparison of the original legendaries and the Omega and Alpha versions so people could see just how different they actually are.

These don't scream Mega to me, they look more like "awakened" alternate forms.

Nice. Yeah, its either new formes or megas. Maybe formes. Megas have usually been more dramatic in changing appearances. This is a lot more subtle.

Not sure if they're megas or something new (Omega Evolution and Alpha Evolution?), but they're definitely different forms to what we've seen before. Look at Kyogre's tail, for example- that's not stylisation, that's a new design.
