Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Remakes Announced for 3DS

Yes, but Kanto in GSC/HGSS is lackluster as fuck. It is not the same as playing through the region in RB/FRLG.

4 consecutive generations of Kanto, man. There's no need to remake it again. Come on, now. I first noticed what Wiseblade pointed out when I was on Bulbapedia looking for E4 info and found that Bruno had sprites for four different generations (RB, GS, FRLG, HGSS).

Oh wow. Haha.

I thought this was a very late April Fools joke, the video even made me wonder if it was fan made. Though it's probably my least favourite gen I'm still excited for it!

I could see them combining a Kanto remake with something else, like having a game take place in two alternating regions.

Also, the Regi puzzle needs to be expanded. In addition to the braille puzzle, each Regi should have their own dungeon filled with unique Pokemon of their type and puzzles before you can reach the legendary.

Regirock is easy. Its dungeon should contain Rock types like Larvitar and Strength boulder puzzles. Maybe some Pokemon fossils from older generations lying around too.

Regice should definitely have sliding ice puzzles, but it's tricky to think of awesome Ice type Pokemon that aren't legendary. Shellder (After it evolves), Swinub, and Sneasel are probably the best that aren't already in RSE.

Registeel is the trickiest. I think conveyor belts would fit a Steel type, but they're not exactly old-looking. The Pokemon are easier; Ferroseed, Bronzor, Honedge, there are a ton of awesome Steel types.

That is true and I am not really asking for more Kanto remakes. I am just saying I wouldn't be surprised (or against it) if it happened. In fact, I grew tired of Kanto ages ago.
Can't say I'm a fan of X/Y's soundtrack though. :p
Neither am I. I can easily count the few good tracks present in X/Y.

I do think they'll continue to cycle through games to remake after this, Pokemon Bank or not. Would it be milking? True I can see that but the demand is going to continue to be there. I know I'd be happy with that.

It's not something they'll be able to do forever, sure, but for now it's working out just fine for them. Besides, a remake per system isn't that bad.

Yes, but so are X and Y, yet people seem to love the games. I really hope the third version fix X and Y problems, Gen VI had a lot of potential.

Oh yes, X/Y definitely are too, it's why I hope they don't get sequels like Black / White did. That worked out well but those games didn't have any glaring issues.

Can't say I'm a fan of X/Y's soundtrack though. :p

Platinum is my GOAT Pokemon game, and I don't even like Gen IV's world or Pokemon that much. It's just so perfectly paced and packed with content.

Also, Gen IV fans are the coolest bunch of Pokemon fans. They rarely fight in gen wars and are generally chill.

Hope the 7th gen remake is awesome. #SINNOHCONFIRMED

I agree, IV's Pokemon are probably the weakest bunch if you ask me, but that's very subjective and all that.

And yeah, Sinnoh fans tend to be great. I should really get back into the Pokemon community. :(

Appreciated.

I am okay with remakes of Fire Red and Leaf Green, as long as I get my Diamond and Pearl remakes as well. Yes, but so are X and Y, yet people seem to love the games. I really hope the third version fix X and Y problems, Gen VI had a lot of potential.
All of the games seriously flawed in one area or another, since gen 1.

Still, as I said, I'd vastly prefer Diamond and Pearl remakes in Generation VII. Platinum is pure bliss, I want to travel through Sinnoh in decent graphics someday.

You're totally right about Gen II Kanto (It is the worst Gen, after all), but I'd say the Gen IV iteration is adequate.

I am in no hurry whatsoever for a Sinnoh remake.

Do you guys think it's worth it to buy the DS games again (I got rid of my copies long ago, stupid me), play them again and transfer them to X/Y and then this, or should I just start fresh with X/Y?

Agreed. Lets just stop hating on generations then, since every single one of them had flaws.

And you shouldn't. If it happens, it will not be released until 2017 at earliest.

By the way, aren't Alpha and Omega the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet? There was a dude named AZ in X/Y, the first and last letters of our alphabet.

Nintendo decided to drop the Bombs even before the E3. Amazing.

I think it was a smart decision. No one really cared about their E3, now there is some buzz and people should be expecting them to show some of this at E3. They made sure not to show any gameplay.

Day one. Also Gamefreak's B team is the superior team. Cant wait. I screamed at work and ran around.

This has been very true so far.

It's not completely fair on them though, they've always been able to build their games upon the main team's foundations.

I say get the DS games later if you still feel like it by then. They'll hold up just fine.

Route 113 is one of the best songs in the entire franchise.
All that ash.

Agreed. Lets just stop hating on generations then, since every single one of them had flaws.

God I hope it has nothing to do with that storyline, it was probably the most cringe worthy thing the Pokemon franchise (already know for shitty plots) has done.

So, any word on if we get a month pokebank coupon or similar with these?

I hope so (though it may well not have been announced yet), otherwise they're edging ever closer to having intergen transport permanently behind a paywall for all gens to come, and that worries me (no I don't care if pokebank is "cheap").

Fortunately, R/S/E are supposed to be set several years before X/Y are, so it shouldn't really carry over.

Although it does get on my nerves a little that they showed the omega game before the alpha one in the trailer.

I'm assuming (read: hoping) that it's just referring to the original Ruby/Sapphire storyline along with the fact that Team Magma and Team Aqua use the Alpha and Omega symbols as their team logos.
