Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Remakes Announced for 3DS

Put it in my veeeeeeins and give me that blue 3DS case (but I'll probably eShop it like X version anyway).


So much Hoenn nostalgia, I hope it lives up.
 
Are people surprised about the game or the annoucement?

The game was pretty much going to be happen based on prior remake timelines.

funny thing is that you can still go and play the GBA games. take off the nostalgia glasses and maybe the community will have fun with it.

True, but most trades on the GTS are kinda bunk. like wanting a Giratina for a Weezing.

On the other hand, it could mean improving Hoenn, like putting more diverse Pokemon on the routes and adding new post-game content.

Why do people keep asking this? We're excited. There's gonna be a gen 7, but people are still gonna be excited about it when it happens.

Lucy's great until you realize her patron Pokemon and her weird battling sex dungeon make her the perfect candidate to be running one of those poz tumblrs. All you're doing in her building is spreading around status ailments to young and old alike and getting subsequent health-chipping and/or aftercare.

Nobody expected the announcement of the next main series Pokemon game so soon, in fact a lot of people didn't expect the next game to come out until at least spring 2015. A lot of people were also expecting Z to happen before RS remakes.
 
Well this certainly showed up out of nowhere! Hell, they didn't even TEASE this announcement!

Now excuse me while I cheer with delight on this wonderful news.
 
I wonder if they will give Blaziken another mega evo like how Charizard has two. So that he has something new to offer up. Assuming the other two Hoenn starters get mega evos, which they better.

Yeah, Sinnoh went crazy with HMs. I always groan when I teach them during each of my Platinum playthroughs.
 
Ruby / Sapphire hold some of my fondness memories in the series. The map was awesome compared to prior games. I doubt secret bases will make a return though.

Obviously they have to make these games the new hub. I'm wondering how they'll do that.

Back on track, I'd like to see the Elite 4 teams revamped. Sidney is already fine (And he even has a mega evolution for Absol in rematches), but Phoebe, Glacia, and Drake could use some more variety.

  • Phoebe: Keep Sableye, one Banette, and one Dusclops (Now Dusknoir). Drop everything else and add Jellicent and Chandelure. Have Banette be mega for rematches.
  • Glacia: Keep one Glalie and Walrein. Drop everything else and add Froslass, Weavile, and Piloswine. Add a Walrein mega evolution for rematches.
  • Drake: Drop Shelgon, add any other Dragon. Add a Salamence mega evolution for rematches.
 
Oh fuck. There was no doubt that it was coming, but I'm still pretty fucking happy about this. Even happier than about Gen 1 and 2 remakes.


Edit: the above ideas for elite 4 changes are great. There's a lot exists to improve on the teams now.
 
This was my least favourite gen, and the one that actually stopped me playing before picking up Pearl years later and getting back into Pokemon, but I'm willing to give it another shot.
 
Wonder if it'll follow the R/S storyline of Wallace still being a gym leader and Steven being the champion or will it follow Emerald of Juan being the gym leader, Wallace the champion and Steven continuing being awesome.

Can't imagine they'll erase Juan out of existence or something.
