And now Nintendo is 2 years late to the Skylanders craze. Not a very reassuring business outlook so far.

That's why this probably won't have as big an impact as it should. This shit should've been there day 1 when the console launched. And it's on also on a console that's really lagging behind in sales. It might help the 3DS though since there's way more of those out there.
