Nintendo Fiscal Meeting - Over

Was not expecting the Wii U to not be at a loss anymore tbh, especially when the last comment we have is Reggie mentioning it needed “several games” to break even

NFP in development since last year, rather make not just a figurine but does more, hope to show related games in development at E3

So in theory they could make the Smash Bros trophies real figures, right? And like someone said here, you could embed your moveset and character and bring them with you when you go to another friends house or to a tournament?

Hmm..

Hopefully the margin is high enough that they can afford to cut it another 50 dollars. I think 250 would be a nice price point to hit. I doubt they can do that and still profit on each system though, so probably staying where it's at until winter or even later.

WiiU target of 3.6m units will need more manufactured than in current inventory, no loss from hardware any more, more games at E3

That's interesting, since some were saying they might have up to 6 million in inventory.

So were getting multiple NFC games like people thought. I'm kinda hoping one of those Pokemon trademarks we've been seeing has something to do with this.

may need to invest in a few of these:

I'm expecting every trophy featured in Brawl as an NFC figure, at least.

Gonna be some melodramatic anime tournament stuff going on at e3's smash tournament if the nfp figures contain peoples' customized movesets. Two dudes walking across the stage to stare each other down while scanning in their fox and little mac figurines.

I hope third-parties join the NFP initiative.

That way I could force myself to buy some Monster Hunter figurines!

I hope they have some Fire Emblem stuff in the plans! Maybe for SMTxFE.

Games so its a line of games that use them hmmm

They probably figure they can't jump start the Wii U at this point so they'd rather at least break even on hardware sold.

That being said $250 price point would be much better than $299.

Please please please PLEASE have them be made by a Japanese company. $20 figurine in Japan vs $20 figurine here is absolutely no contest. The random ones they have at Walmart look god awful.

Iwata saying this fiscal year to increase profits- 3/15, not grow dramatically in 3/16 but develop pillar for growth with growth in 3 /17

No loss from hardware anymore? Interesting. At least it's not burning money now. More chance of price cut and free game like deals too lol. I'm surprised all that unsold stock isn't enough to cover the 3.6 projection though.

No loss on hardware anymore? That's good news.

Given the context of needed to make more units to hit 3.6 million sell through I'm thinking this may have been miss translated and may mean, no loss from hardware by manufacturing more units than selling, perhaps they have narrowed there production channel to maintain a per sell through capacity and are not loosing money making units just to sit in storage houses and are making as they need ship.. much as apple does.
