This all sounds a bit ridiculous. NFC toys? honestly? I know skylanders and Disney Infinity exist but I don't see that his is the type of thing to save dying consoles.

But the reactions here seem to suggest that its a good move.

Its not about saving consoles, its about making money.

There will always be a segment of the population that wants to buy toys. That's the market Activision and Disney are targeting with Skylanders and Disney Infinity, and what Nintendo hopes to capture some. The obvious question is if its still in a growth market, or does Nintendo has to steal market share to make it happen.
