You can compare graphical fidelity regardless of art style.

For instance, Infamous has a great AA solution. Sunset Overdrive does not.

The IQ looks bad.

There is aliasing issues everywhere, and things like power-lines, which are everywhere, look like broken lines.

The art style looks fantastic, put it is a technical disappointment.


This kind of game begs for crisp IQ.


That said, they still have time to fix it up, but I keep saying that for every game, and after Titanfall and now Advanced Warfare, my hope is a bit crushed.

I would say that this game is a mix of Dead Rising (survivors, crazy weapons, zombies) + Crackdown (colorful palette and zombies) + Infamous (the rails thing).

Most of that is from Jet Set Radio (rails/colors/style) mixed with Crackdown.

I am just very happy we are getting "non-me-too" games.

TBH consoles are not the place for faultless IQ.

Resistance 2 was awesome. Love the ending.
Resistance 3 criminally underrated. Game is a gem.
A4O was a great game that was infested with bugs. That's their fault. But the game was fun (I just platinum'ed it last week). Doesn't make the game "not" fun.
Fuse was an okay game, I'll give you that one. Probably the worst game I've played from them tho.
Into the Nexus is in my backlog.
FF is Full Frontal assault? This one I haven't played.

I think the R2 is very devisive. I personally hated what they did and felt they just ruined the franchise but others think it was great. R3 kinda went back to form but still fell flat on its face. FFA is absolutely terrible. Fuse is terrible. I hated A4O. In my opinion the last great game they did was ACiT. That doesn't mean they can't make great games though, and I'm liking what I'm seeing from SO a lot so there's certainly hope.

To be honest, there's no point in getting one for future games right now with E3 coming soon. Wait to see if there will be a price drop announcement.

Yea, I'm waiting till E3 to make the final choice. If MS hits the price point I'm looking for and hopefully drops the paywalls, I'll likely be getting an X1 this year. Especially since SO and QB are bot looking great.

Wow this looks pretty amazing. Xbone getting what looks like another AAA hit to its stable. PS4 is really looking worse and worse in comparison.

They're being steamrolled when it comes to good exclusives. Titanfall, PvZ, Dead Rising, now this. Sony must be pretty miffed that the first game Insomniac makes that is not available on Playstation looks better than everything they've ever made for Sony.

They are capable of making awesome games, and they have before. They've also made games that aren't very good at all, like some of their recent games.

The one thing I DON'T like is that Insomniac is [for all intents and purposes] preventing the majority of their established fanbase, like me, from even playing their new game, which looks amazing.

I think Insomniac wanted to work on new IP that they own and retain the rights to and Microsoft that made it happen for them. I can't believe they didn't want to continue to work with sony but I don't blame them for walking away when they didn't get the deal they wanted.

As for the game beeing exclusive, I thought this as a MS IP, no?

Insomniac last few year of games has not been very good, Resistance 2 was not well receive and Resistance 3 was mixed, the last few Ratchet and clank games where also not well receive. I did enjoy the original Resistance other than that I personally did not enjoy the other games as much as the original resistance. I did enjoy coop on Resistance 2 but that was the only things I like about that game.

As far as the IP, Insomniac owns the IP not MS. That is one of the reason they went with MS instead of Sony in making the game, because MS let them own the IP unlike Sony. So that opens the possibility that if they wish they could brings sequels of the game to other platforms.

The art style is nice, but the movement doesn't look very fluid to me. The way the animation and fluidity of motion look reminds me of Ratchet & Clank, which makes sense, but I don't feel like it looks particularly nice in the context of a Jet Set Radio-esque structure.

This is what I thought looking at the game. Looks pretty cool though. It looks a lot like Second Son, but with the movements being a little laggy. I don't know.

When I get an Xbox One, I'm going to check this one out either way. I would like to see more of the game. Guess we'll see it at E3.

Yeah. It's still weird though. Even if those games had a better, more diverse color palette, the game wouldn't be that much better. I love Ratchet and Clank, but that style of platforming doesn't usually translate well to fast moving game like inFamous or any other free-run style game. I'm not sure what to think.
