Bright cartoony characters doesn't appeal to many people except younger kids. I am not saying this subjectively this is a fact. This game won't hit npd and I was really surprised that many people are excited.

okay, thanks parakeet. I've given my WiiU to the neighbour's dog. I knew there was something off about that machine.

i still dont know who is the target for this game....as "edgy" it likes i dont think will have good sales at all

Well, Insomniac games have never been big sellers (even the Ratchet games). I think Resistance 1 did well since it was at launch, but R2 and 3 failed commercially (or at least did pretty bad). The Xbox audience in general also doesn't seem to be too into these types of games, but I think it'll be relatively successful.

Looks super fun and the visuals are amazing too. And all the colors... what a difference from previous gen games. Looks like a gamer's game.
It's like Jet Set Radion on steroids with a mix of Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead.
Looks more fun than Infamous.

Nobody can say that MS isn't trying, huh? The XONE library is only getting better. Great exclusive. I want to play this.

dude, that's not true, at least not in the strict sense you seem to mean it. Yes, bright cartoony characters can appeal to kids, but bright characters and worlds can also appeal to adults, and have done so endlessly in the past. The movie, television and game world is packed with colorful content that appealed to adults :P

It looks great! Much better than the CGI trailer that didnt made me interested of the game at all.

But one thing i didnt like was the enemies. I only saw two enemy types, the regular zombie and just one part a giant zombie (or whatever enemy type it is). Lets hope there are more varieties to the enemies!

The trailer showed several different types, there is a segment on enemies.

Good that we have finally hard data on this.

They're being steamrolled when it comes to good exclusives. Titanfall, PvZ, Dead Rising, now this. Sony must be pretty miffed that the first game Insomniac makes that is not available on Playstation looks better than everything they've ever made for Sony.

Well of course it would look better...it's running on a much more powerful hardware than the old Sony ones. Unless you meant it terms of gameplay and content, in which case one would need to wait for the game to hit before making such a silly claim.

Sold me an Xbox One. My god.

Haha, I love that if you voice a negative opinion about this, people just say "YEAH WELL, PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS THAN YOU"

Duh?

Whelp, looks like I'll be buying an Xbox now.

To the people saying it looks like Infamous, I feel like Sucker Punch and Insomniac have always been very similar, along with Naughty Dog. I mean, they all made platformers and it seems like they've just moved in pretty much the same direction.

Yes, the AI doesn't seem very smart, but it kinda looks like they might be going for quantity over quality with mobs of enemies swarming from all directions. If I had fifty enemies coming at me, I wouldn't want them to be very smart. It seems fitting to the style of the game as well.

God this looks fresh to death!

I'm Getting Airblade, Tony Hawks and Sonic Adventure 2 vibes from the movement and environment traversal. Any chance this'll come to PS4?

This was my thought. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed infamous but challenging combat wasn't part of the equation.

You still had to be smart about how you approached combat. Getting to high ground, getting to cover, avoiding civilian casualties (if playing hero), staying mobile and recharging your health and powers were all things you had to consider during a battle. It was smarter than just unloading your ammo into a pack of zombies, which is all we've seen from Sunset Overdrive so far.

It makes sense that the basic horde enemy is easy to defeat, hopefully some of the bigger ones will have more about them, I'm sure they will.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Kinda like Left 4 Dead. You have to choose which enemy is your priority and which weapon will best get the job done for a specific situation while running/jumping around the city.

Infamous?

Based on what we've seen so far I don't see how anyone could suggest those two games are interchangeable. They share some similarities, but they're also quite different. Just for starters, Infamous is quite dark and serious, and Sunset Overdrive is bright, colorful, and silly. I personally prefer the less serious vibe.

The small snippets do look pretty fun. Interested in hearing how it holds up over the length of its entire playthrough. Saints Row 4 was pretty fun for the first few hours, but got old very fast for me. This kind of over the top gameplay has a potential to just desensitize me, especially if there's regenerating health.

Except for H2A reveal in feb/march

I realize they just seemed to have delayed it though but still it got me all hyped to see it :(

The only things he seems to have been wrong about are a few dates. Things which can very easily and often are changed. So considering, his track record seems to be very good.

Does the IP belong to IG or MS? I mean if it belongs to IG they might bring to PS4 with another iteration just like TF right?

You would think MS would have first refusal on future games since they have funded this one, a bit like Gears Of War. Only Insomniac know for sure.

Insomniac but its published by Microsoft. They obviously choose Microsoft for a reason because Sony wouldn't let them keep the IP and EA Partners wasn't the best thing for them. The only way this would ever come to PS4 is if a third party publisher picked it up but I see this franchise going the route of Gears of War and staying solely on Xbox One.

the xbox team at twitter seems pretty content with this so i dont see this ever hitting another platform

The gameplay for this looks great, I'll definitely be grabbing it for my Xbox One. I just reallllllly hope the image quality is up to snuff. I hope it doesn't mimic Dead Rising 3, which looked really bad for the most part. The aliasing and low resolution and framerate detracted from my overall experience of the game. Here's hoping Insomniac overcome any of the technical limitations that may be standing in the way.

Yeah, exactly.

Yeah, it shares quite a lot more in common with R & C to be honest. On the other hand, so far the actual traversal doesn't seem to compare with Infamous in my option. Stuff like neon was just amazing. Never seen anything in a game like it. Infamous was pretty bright and colourful in parts too. The lighting was just amazing. This seems to build on the R & C and Fuse aesthetic, and seems like they have achieved a better match than they did with Fuse at least.
