Yup, Pokemon like Golbat couldn't evolve if you didn't have a National Pokedex.Weird, I recall stuff like evolutions being "blocked" pre-Sevii.

I'd like to see the following get megas, and also to prove that megas can be awesome if given to mons that deserve it;
Flygon
Altaria
Sceptile/Swampert
Plusle/Minun
Cradily
Armaldo
Torkoal
Camerupt
Cacturne
Castform (for the love of all that is great, this needs to happen)
Grumpig
Chimecho
Megas for these would help them to be competitively viable without necessarily being broken.

You're being unreasonable, you sound like a child. Again, Mega Evolutions add a lot to gameplay while avoiding all of the complications that come with straight evolutions. They also give players a reason to care about older Pokemon again. Then debuff the evolutions. I mean Mega Evolutions shouldn't exist and those are plausible should get regular evolutions in general.

No more new Mega please.
Megas are here to stay.
Not confirmed...yet.
I mean that's much more reasonable, but (like Pokemon in general) you have a decent amount of variation. While ones like Aerodactyl and Tyranitar are how you described, there are simpler looking ones like Manectric, Blastoise, Kanghaskhan, and Alakazam. I'd argue that even some of the busier looking ones are improvements over the originals, like Gyarados, Mawile, and Garchomp. My biggest issues with megas are their designs. I find them very busy and just not good looking.

I believe it's around 6pm EST. Maybe 6:30?
wut. They aren't going to take out such a big feature and selling point used for Pokemon X and Y. Megas are now permanently a part of Pokemon like abilities and natures.
Still holding on to hope.
The point of Mega Evos is that you only gen one and you get no item. Just giving those stats to the Pokemon normally would be an explosive power "creep".I just dont get why they just didnt redistribute stats. Maybe because that wouldnt sound impressive on a box.
I also hope that humans will suddenly lose the need for oxygen. Not all hopes are based in reality.

Guess we will find out in a few hours. On both fronts.
Mega Venusaur is GOD.I heart my Mega Venusaur, he is the backbone of my team and he's crushed fools.
Why do you people continue to ignore ZangooseHe needs a mega badly
I agree, I would much rather have him get a regular evolution, but he has been ignored for three generations nowHe just needs a regular evo. That's one problem I have with megas. They give it to pokemon who need it like absol and mawile, but then give it to lucario and blaziken too. If these guys just got straight evos with stat boosts that were toned down it would be much better.
I wanted to use absol so badly but there wasn't room on my team for two megas
Mega Evos go far beyond stats. Some have new abilities which drastically changes how they play. Redistributing stats doesn't work since you can upload Pokemon all the way from the original RSE into X (my decade old Sceptile looks nice in 3D). Not to mention a mega stone is using up an item slot, another battle feature that can make or break a Pokemon. I was anti-Mega before XY came out and was proven wrong. They provide an interesting strategy and promote the use of Pokemon long forgotten. I heart my Mega Venusaur, he is the backbone of my team and he's crushed fools.
Could have just added new hidden abilites and the stat thing is irrelevant. Stats were changed from rby to gsc and from bw to gen vi and that worked just fine. The only real strategic purpose is the omission of an item slot in exchange for power. But why not just make useless pokes useful in the first place?
And as i stated before they just look off. Only a small few look like natural extensions of the pokemon before them. Too many megas have a few too many bells and whistles going on.
Those are the outlines of the Blue and Red orbs or at least the ones from the anime.
(legendaries and starters SHOULD NOT HAVE ANOTHER EVOLUTION)

or Raichu, or Blastoise, or Wigglytuff, or any of the other Pokemon on that list.

or Vivillon, or Gengar, or Mega Gyarados, or...
The format gives you a lot of options. Mega Kang is obviously the strongest Pokemon in the game, but you're an idiot if you think there are no teambuilding options available. This is a competitive game and players will gravitate towards the best. That's what playing competitively means: playing to win. Most teams will use a handful of the strongest Pokemon with a few techs for the metagame that are often from a pool of less common Pokemon. Sometimes people who are better at making metagame calls go full anti-meta.

They should both get megas since their lore is connected. Wouldn't be fair.Does every competitive team use megas?
Seviper needs more than Zangoose does, no?
You're being unreasonable, you sound like a child.
Oh right, gotta prepare my Umbreon/Houndoom/Talonflame/Garchomp/Azumarill/Aegislash team for the Premiere Challenge.or Raichu, or Blastoise, or Wigglytuff, or any of the other Pokemon on that list.

Spinda means billions of different forms lol. Though I'm guessing if such a ball ever existed, they'd ignore Spinda.
Mega Tyranitar's design is an homage to Space Godzilla, just like normal Tyranitar references Kaiju in general.I mean that's much more reasonable, but (like Pokemon in general) you have a decent amount of variation. They're not the outlines in the anime. First, the anime outlines are red for the red orb and blue for the blue orb. Second, the anime patterns were basically just their normal patterns, while the remake patterns have completely new features (check out the omega symbol on Groudon's arm). Third, there are differences outside the glowy lines, like the transparent parts on Kyogre's fin and the black teeth and spikes on Groudon. Those are the outlines of the Blue and Red orbs or at least the ones from the anime.
Surely you mean Garchomp.Flygon already has a Mega, it's called Salamence
XY has the best mechanics to date, unless you meant one player experience.
Mega Tyranitar's design is an homage to Space Godzilla, just like normal Tyranitar references Kaiju in general.
The save data is on the cart. However, even the physical version of the game requires an SD card to play. So yes, that is possible I suppose.I just had another idea regarding patching X and Y regarding new Mega Evolutions. Maybe, just maybe, we all saw it way to complicated? As far as I know X and Y writes atleast something on the SD card while you save right? What if they coded X and Y in a way where additional Pokémon data can be just "plugged in"?
Lets say I trade my (Mega) Kyogre back to X, maybe OR/AS could just sent the relevant data-files along the trade to the receiving 3DS?
I know I probably spent waaay too much thought and energy on this issue aslong as we aren't even sure if we get new Mega Evolutions but I just like to think about technical issues and how to solve them![]()
