I feel so starved for info right now. The Smash Direct has made everything else seem insubstantial, even though we actually are getting new content on most days, and I used to be satisfied with that.

I wonder if they'll open E3 Direct with smash info. I'd love for them to close w/ zelda, but that's just me.

There is an insider information that have gotten around mentioned that Ubisoft did asked Nintendo to see if they can add Rayman to Smash Bros. From what I saw, that they said no to Rayman.
Nope, I think he's busy right now, and I think he should wait until Nintendo's Digital Event to make it easier of him.

Not to mention the press has been playing it for like 2 weeks now. No one will care. the only reason so show mario kart 8 is if they're doing DLC, which is fine, but not OPENING worthy.
They'll just do what they did last year and open with pokemon again.

I'd love to see them open with a fakeout smash trailer. Similar to the rosalina reveal. Don't have the smash logo at the beginning.
It could be a fire emblem trailer that reveals chrom and ike or something. Makes it look like a 'Fire Emblem all-stars' game, but then it does a 'chrom joins' screen and you know it's smash bros.

I use mine on my Twitter, as well as pretty much everywhere else I'm registered (except Something Awful right now; still debating whether wearing a Sonic avatar unironically there is the equivalent of placing a "kick me" sign on one's own back or not, and I'm not eager to spend $5 to gamble on it).
Although, you might want to nab the uncropped sprite, so you can make various sizes of the avatar as needed.
I'm grabbed the uncropped one for my google profile, but the cropped one looks fine in the twitter preview. I just want to make sure that it's OK with neorice, since it's his work.

To be fair, there are other 3rd party characters I'd prefer over Rayman (Pac-Man, Bomberman and so on) but Rayman's more relevant than them right now and he'd be good representation for Ubisoft considering they're probably the only company after Activision supporting Nintendo right now.

That's also a different character. It's not sonic transforming into it, it's a separate entity.
Dr. Mario is still mario in a dr's outfit (if they make it). Wireframe mac is still little mac, just how he looked in the arcade.

Why has it become such a widely accepted notion that Snake won't be in?
I think people think if he was in, we'd know about it by now. It's still up in the air though.

Because Kojima has said he has no information suggesting as such, and he would know if Snake was in. Especially since Snake only ever got in because he and Sakurai are friends and he begged Sakurai to put Snake in smash

3rd party. Konami hasn't commented. Kojima has stated that he doesn't know but has given Sakurai permission to put him in the game again. Sutherland. Hayter. Clouds in the sky. Snakes on a plane.

Kojima has said he doesn't know if Snake is in. It's entirely possible he's playing coy, but it's also entirely possible he's just telling the truth. And if Snake was in, Kojima would know.
because if he knew, I'm sure he'd say "Yes! Sakurai and I have been talking and Snake will return in the next Smash Bros!"

I thought he was being vague. Anything other than 'I don't know' or the response that he gave could be taken to mean 'yes, he is in it.' The act of being vague can confirm that he is in it. The only way to be ambiguous is to claim ignorance or deny it.

People are often super ambiguous even when they know it's not happening. Especially since there's often the chance that even if they don't know it might still happen.
All I'm saying is that his response doesn't rule snake out either. It doesn't confirm him, it doesn't deny him, nothing. But, yes, you are correct. He could very well be vague so he doesn't confirm that he's NOT in, either.
