It also shares the same stroke style as Xenoblade, but neither really means much.
I don't think that's indicative of anything.
People have pointed out a lot of similarities between X and the rest of the Xeno games (the silver Inferno resembling Sinah, the Shulk lookalike, the hanger resembling Yggdrasil's, the Primordial Wilderness area resembling the Bionis' Shoulder, the Doll cockpits resembling the ES', the logos), but that doesn't mean that it's a follow-up to any of 'em; the truth is that it's nothing more than heavy inspiration.
The IGN "rumor" was kind of dumb imo. IGN didn't pass on a rumor, they leaked knowledge of the game, I think after they they went hands on with it. Iirc they didn't have an inside source so much as Nintendo told them and a bunch of other outlets "we are making a new DK game at Retro, take a look". Did they violate an embargo there? It seemed like they they wanted to beat other sites to the punch and appear to have insider info.

I consider a violation of an embargo a leak. The information is leaked to the public before it was supposed to be. I guess it's not a 'rumor', but it's hard to tell if they're leaks or not until E3 is done.
Forgive me if this has been posted and discredited, but I didn't see it anywhere and need a confirmation that this is bullshit.
Well, that's pretty much what I'd want. Maybe some surprise game too like F-Zero and you have a great lineup for E3. Not legendary but great.

It's more fun to try to predict the age of the faker. Giving he can't spell correctly the name of a game announced one year ago (Super Smash Bros. for Wii U / 3DS), I'm thinking of 10 yo.

I know some here have said the game could become FZero and I agree the title was revealed months ago and then sudden silence what if Nintendo made a deal and it's now an FZero game exclusively for the eShop priced at $20 I don't see why it can't happen
I think I would be stunned into silence for about a month if Shards of Nightmare ended up being the actual title.
Nintendo need to bring either: Metroid, Star Fox or Fzero for me to be happy with Nintendo's offering.
Obviously Zelda, Pokken Fighters, X and NFC Game will be there.
I'm expecting Nintendo to add DLC for Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 also.
3DS will get a lot of love, Wii U will get none.

Remember, Miyamoto can't think of new ideas for F-Zero, a RACING GAME, so therefore we won't be getting a new one. Mario kart 8, however... novel idea! Why not make the Karts go upside down and on walls! Never been done before! Grumble Grumble...

I was thinking that was possible as well, although I can't really think of a title that they could announce that they haven't already done (Mario Kart, 3D Land, NSMB2) and that they wouldn't get crucified for (Galaxy 3D on 3DS and NOT Wii U).
Galaxy 3D perhaps or just a 3D Land 2.
Nintendo needs some safe investments in order to keep going.

F-Zero X was one of my favorite 64 games, though. I do miss it. I think an eshop free to play F-Zero on 3DS or Wii U could work, though. Sell the tracks similar to rusty's real-deal baseball. If you do really well on it, get some good records, the next track is even cheaper!TheGreatMightyPoo
