Yes

Sakurai never said that. His only quote about costumes is that one where he talks about it not being the customization that he was talking about, because it'd hurt the characters' uniqueness.Sakurai doesn't want skinning characters as costumes though, it seems.
I hope Pikachu gets a Pichu alt.

Thanks guys!
Paper Mario is one of those never-gonna-happen-but-would-be-cool characters. They could do a lot of stuff with badge moves and his paper-folding from TTYD. General Guy would be a nifty Assist Trophy, too.
60FPS for Wii U; 60FPS for 3DS but assist trophies/pokeball pokemons would be 30FPS.

Considering Sakurai only specified that the 30fps stuff was part of the 3DS version, I feel like it's a safe bet the Wii U will be 60fps through and through. You think EVERYTHING will be 60fps on Wii U? So far we've only seen youtube footage, so it's all been 30fps. Any indication that there are less frames on pokeballs/assist trophies?
Can youtube even play 60fps? I think I heard that it compresses the stuff automatically below that or somethingI'd want him for his hammer based attacks alone. Paper airplane up-b. Could use some sticker-star move as his final smash.
Tons of creative stuff could be done for him. If link has 2 links, mario can have 2 marios.Luigi doesn't count.

Eagerly awaiting for wireframe Ridley, RagnarokX don't disappoint me!
The $200 Wii U Skylanders Bundle is back on ebay, and, between that and the fact that BillMeLater is offering me 6 months no payments/no interest for signing up, I'm actually considering getting it. What should I do? Jump on it now? Wait to see if there's a price drop at E3? Wait for the inevitable Smash bundle? Or do the smart thing and get a PS4 instead?

Well, I would like to correct myself since I just watched UK's Smash Direct again. Sakurai specifically said that some of poke balls and assist trophies (for 3DS version) would be 30fps; not all.
He didn't elaborate anything for Wii U; so that would led me to believe that they would be at 60fps. I could be wrong tho.
I'm not calling you out or anything! I totally agree. Just wondering what your opinion was. I, too, think everything will be 60fps on wii u.
I know you are not calling me out. I want to take a step backward and correct myself since I thought he said all poke balls pokemon and assist trophies are at 30fps but I noticed that he said SOME.
I'm pretty sure that everything would be at 60fps; like they did with Melee and Brawl. Despite the facts that the frames got dropped during battles depend on situations that would forced the drops.

Why has this question never been asked in this thread before? Thank you Ethan
Hopefully the Wii U is powerful enough that we don't get frame drops this time around. Then again, smash 4 is looking gorgeous, so who knows.

Forget if Ridley's too big. Ethan's asking the hard questions.

This chart is pretty interesting -- it organizes the potential roster by year of debut. There are very few gaps.

The Chorus Kids, Shulk, Chrom, and Greninja start to make more sense when you consider that Sakurai probably wanted to include some more recent characters. There's not exactly a lot to pick from.
Winner of the E3 Smash Invitational becomes new project lead.
Miyamoto wins, retools the game into Super Smash Bros. Sticker Star.

Updated my size chart to include all new characters,
obviously some of them might be a bit smaller/bigger than they actually are as I'm
basing the sizes off of cross-referencing characters; but the general size should be
as shown. (maybe they're slightly bigger or slightly smaller, which would swap some chars around)

fuck yesThe superior Super Slam Bros. Melee.
It flows from track to track like it was created for that very purpose...
Little Mac's defining characteristic is his size -- hence "Little" Mac -- but that handicap didn't exist prior to the NES version. The player character had to be shrunken down on the NES for technical reasons. The arcade boxer was regularly sized, and nobody at Nintendo has ever referred to that character as Little Mac. Granted, I would consider Little Mac the spiritual successor/evolution of the arcade boxer, but there isn't any proof that they're the same person.Little Mac debuted in 1984.
