Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 7: How Can My Smash Brother Be This Cut

You guys do realize there's people who didn't watch the Direct right? So things like today's pic might actually be new for them.
Doesn't compute. Anyone invested in the game enough to look at the POTD would never give up on watching something like the SSB Direct.

Took me a while to realize that samus was just her doing the backwards flip thing w/ ghosts. I thought she had turned into some 4 legged monster.

Holy shit @ PotD whining. Y'all are fuckin ridiculous.

Info blowouts every day on the Dojo were hype as shit, but there wasn't much to discover when the games came out. PotD is a good balance between showing the game every weekday (lucky we're even getting that), and not spoiling the game completely.

Also, on topic, this is my favorite AT shown so far.

People who say they miss the Dojo obviously forget that the Dojo had tons of non updates as well.
People can never be happy, I guess.

Good update as usual.

Can anyone find me a GIF of Smash 4 intro please? I tried to find it but I couldn't. (from first trailer where they started with Mario and ended it with Pikachu)

Godzilla should be in smash

lol at PotD whining. It seems the comments don't even matter. Just the pics "have to be" new.

It's 39 min long. A PotD takes a minute to read and look at the pic.

Pic of the day. The unexpected Assist Trophy, the TV-Game 15! Color TV-Game 15 is a home entertainment system that was released in 1977 in Japan before the release of Space Invaders. This is the oldest game to join the Smash Bros. series.

Sakurai you big slim FUCK

EDIT:
Good on Sakurai for paying attention to the details.

Great people are whining again, if you don't like the POTD you don't have to say anything, be glad you're getting them in the first place, otherwise you'd be waiting between April and June just to get more info.

EDIT:

Every statement someone makes with " TV-Game 15!" on it should have a read slightly tilted font over that , that says " Fucking Pong in Smash Bros "

I see ridleys head on the wall, not joking.
When I first looked at today's picture, I saw pyrosphere with some odd shaped blue-ish thing in the middle. Even though it was blue, I thought I was just seeing it wrong and today was Ridley.

Actually most of them tend to be peculiar. I think the only time they weren't interesting was during the early days.
I don't think many of them are interesting now either. It's understandable right now because of the Smash ND blowout, but I've skipped entire weeks and maybe only missed one thing that I found interesting.

Part of what makes this Assist Trophy so fun in my opinion is that I can imagine that when they started looking for it, they might have actually been looking into whether Nintendo ever made a clone of Pong, and stumbled upon this that way. This game was historically significant, though, and it came out six years after Pong (and had far more options for how matches play out).

I was so hype when I saw this in the Direct. It's not quite Pong...but it is "Pong" at the end of the day, and it made me so happy because we would've never seen it coming and it represents one or the most famous video games ever in a game like Smash

Honestly, I hate the people who complain about the Dojo "spoiling the game" for them. I mean, that was sort of the fucking point. Both the Dojo and the Pic of the Day are suppose to be revealing (new) info about the game on a day-to-day basis in order to get people interested in it. If you don't want to be spoiled for the game, you shouldn't be following in the first place.

It's as though they went for Pong as a base, formed the details to be in-line with Color TV-Game 15, and now need to officially refer to it as Color TV-Game 15 at all times!

They're recharging the Hype Drives from the use of Overdrive during the Smash Direct to bust the mode out again for E3.

Once you fire your Hyper Beam, it takes a full turn before you can use it again. In this case, the turn is about 2 months long.

Flipping though some of the old Dojo thread, and it made me realize just how much more accepting of Pokemon people have gotten. We do have the occasional argument about there being "too many Pokemon," but I don't think I've ever seen people post shit like this in our threads:

Because there is nothing in the Pokemon universe which contains

A) Quality, or the type of quality Nintendo is known for.
B) Nostalgia for things I remember playing as a kid.
C) The sort of kickass character a 24 year old adult such as myself can find appealing on any level whatsoever.

Basically, the basic reason is that Pokemon serves to cheapen the entire stable of Nintendo characters, moreso than Mario Party or Starfox Assault ever could.

The entire series offers no hope of ever changing to anything a detractor could love, and more specifically, ever producing a single console iteration that is even average.

Because Pokemon:
A) Is geared towards children
B) Has it's own battling games and does not need to invade SSB franchise
C) Sucks
D) (So far) has more characters in this game than any other Nintendo franchise, which is ri-fucking-diculous.

I'm not saying I want mature characters. I'm saying I want characters that don't look like something my nephew drew with crayons.
