Driveclub "the new" footage in HD

Game is looking so good, hot damn.

One thing I wonder though is where is the PGR style UI elements like points coming onto the screen as you drift and such like that? The sort of thing you saw in the trailers up till now.

Is this pure non UI footage or is that element gone from the final product?

We've disabled the HUD / OSD for these particular videos, but there is definitely visual feedback as you play races and score Fame Points by drifting, overtaking etc.

You will be able to manually disable/enable specific elements in the Settings menu.

That is news to me! Incredible!

watching the old Chile video really shows how far they have come. Still the game needs better AA

either delete those power lines or implement better aa :P

Is this a slightly old build? The aliasing seems to have got worse than we last saw it. Will it improve?

Not sure I like the way ghosts are displayed. I mean, the schematic look is cool, but their brightness and the way they fade abruptly as you come closer to them (I assume to prevent your view being occluded) is a bit inelegant to say the least. Hopefully, that's tweakable. Also, weird to notice the time of day compression at work with obvious updating and stepping of the shadows on the track.

that footage is very old...

Awesome thanks for the reply! I figured it was simply the UI being disabled but you never know. Thanks though. Well done on that lighting / reflection system and environmental detail. Game is going to be glorious on my TV.

Any word on what type of AA solution you guys are going to use? Video players cause their own aliasing, so that is not an issue for me with these videos. Have you guys walked over to Sucker Punch yet and kidnapped their AA tool programmer? lol.

saw the footages. dear lord,

holy-sht.gif

looks freakin' incredible!

I call bullshit on the aliasing has gotten worse and no, they have 5 more months, nothing will improve... Move along...

AA usually depends on the rendering method the dev is using. With real time GI, I think MSAA would work the best. See frostbite

it looks great, nice and smooth. anti-aliasing looks great too bar the power lines...but it certainly isn't anywhere near bad enough for this sort of reaction...

The aliasing is absolutely brutal. Never before has it been in my face so blatantly.

lol.

I genuinely think this is going to be a new classic. It's looks amazing and a ton of fun.

What a difference seeing the video at 1080p makes. Wow.

I almost feel bad about complaining over lack of AA, but I will complain anyways :p

Seriously stunning though.

I didn't think so many people looked at power lines driving at 150+ mph.....everything else looks superb, but that's what's being harped on with 5 months to go in development. Really.....?

This, the aliasing is really in your face.

It really doesn't look anywhere close to this:

There's more of a gap than I expected between the two, considering the claim. Seeing what could be done realistically with IQ in the new Infamous sort of had my hopes up. Obviously there's tons of time to optimize, so I'll just file it under "Excited to have higher quality footage of something I'm looking forward to."

Watching again, the dithering on foliage doesn't even look like the same implementation, and not for the better in the newer footage...

They game has been delayed for more than 6 months and the aliasing didnt look this bad in the last videos of november. It looks great but the aliasing is really noticeable. But yeah its peobably still gonna be implemented though... I hope :(

The skybox looks like it has color banding issues.. :(

An improvement over alpha footage but the aliasing is still a minor annoyance.

Its a shame the nature of a trailer is to bullshot the hell out of it.

It will be interesting to see how it compares to forza horizon 2 (if it comes out this year)

The jaggy power lines are really distracting.

This x 100 just take them out ffs, when they look bad its not worth it and they add absolutely nothing to the game, same with chain link fences and other things that cause bad aa shimmering in games. This is something all devs should be more aware of.Having flash backs to old need for speed games

Yeah, is there better AA solutions depending on the type of game? Like a racer will have things flying around pretty quickly, and I doubt AA is really important for objects that hit the screen for only .1 seconds.

You should of seen the brick controversy from the short gameplay reveal of The Order.

Oh, and can I say the game looks very smooth and fast for a 30fps, unplayable framerate title? ;)
