But now thanks to the terribad Age of Ultron series and other shenanigans time is broken in the Marvel 616 Universe and it all seems to be building (VERY SLOWLY) to something. Which will be nothing. $4.99 twice a month, kids love comics!

New Deathlok appearing in Marvel's Original Sins event:

Wow they somehow managed to out awful the show.

It really should just be a one way street, no MCU to marvel comics at all, I'll give an exception to coulson, but beyond that? Just no

I don't agree with this concept at all cause it's not like shows and cartoons didn't work there way into the comics. I mean look at Harley Quinn she came from Batman:TAS I even heard Diggle form Arrow was written into comic continuity

Magneto actually a accomplished engineer and biologist. They just forget that nowadays because he just drops continents on folks heads. Cho's good with on site math but he ain't really done anything and his gear is all Bannertech.

Cho hasn't had a chance to do much because he is on the run. But he has done enough to impress gods and Reed Richards, who said he was the seventh most intelligent person in the world. Ultimate Cho works for SHIELD and helped create a portal to cross universes.

Magneto doesn't come close.

I just want to point out that the new design looks nothing like Deathlok in the TV show, so I have no idea why you are bringing that up here.

Finally got to see the finale.

Good way to end things for now. Laughed at Garrett being blown to pieces.

What's gonna happen to Ward? And Fitz? Who is Skye's dad? What's that stuff Garrett and Coulson were writing?

I had the prediction that Graviton would be the main bad guy, but they made it even more interesting.

And I guess Sam Jackson's role is being reduced in the MCU. I guess it was bound to happen that he/Marvel would want to eventually move on.

It's actually taking the show changes even further. No metal on face, gauntlets that connect to weapons instead of robotic limbs, a mostly black bodysuit instead of the classic red onesie.

I'd say it was inspired by the TV version, but they definitely took the changes a lot further. Mike at least has disfigured skin.

Basically, its following the same philosophy as the show - really dialing bac the cyborg and zombie elements of a character who is traditionally a cyborg zombie.

Possibly, but that would be weird considering the negative reception the AoS Deathlok has gotten. Do we know if this is the original Deathlok? It could also be some sort of weird origin story.

Not sure which Deathlok it is. The solicit seems to show him operating in public, so the more "normal" look could be for stealth.

Seeing the similar design philosophy from the show made me wonder if it could be MIke being brought in from the MCU. I realize he doesn't look like J. August Richards at all, but its not uncommon for comic companies to change the design to avoid paying actors royalties for their likeness.

okay but there's a difference between "okay that idea is so good we have to use it," and "well, it's this way in the movies so we have to make it this way in the comics."

The latter is what Marvel does all the time, which is why you get nonsense like what they went through to get a black Nick Fury in the main universe; whatever is happening in any Marvel comic essentially gets reset as soon as a movie comes out because they have to make sure the comics aren't confusing for the MILLIONS OF PEOPLE that will be buying the comics because the movie came out.

I don't want to take it too far off topic, but: what? Time is broken? How? And how has that affected things?

Without spoiling what goes on in the story, there are a good number of time jumping shenanigans/plans (at least 3 that I can remember offhand) and at least 2 of them end up royally jacking things up. TBH wikipedia sums it up fairly well.

Whoa whoa whoa, hold on now. A lot of the Marvel movies have been using Ultimate versions of the characters for the movies because, to be frank, a lot of them sucked otherwise (Susan Storm, for instance...)

Ultimate Nick Fury was actually modeled after SLJ on purpose, so it was more of a coming around thing. The way Marvel recently shored up him being canon in 616 was weird, admittedly, but the precedent already existed.

Does anyone else think the carvings made by Grant, and then expanded significantly by Coulson, could be the beginnings of the circuitry/programming for a certain AI that could be pressed into service, to which Henry Pymm adds a few extra touches...?

Ultimate Cho is STUDYING a portal created by Mysterio. 616 Cho had Banner create a portal to look for Hercules. Reed has told Spidey numerous time he should devote more time to science because he had serious game. And Reed is not one for hyperbole. House of M Parker was one of the top Scientist AND Celebrities on earth. . Thor has said that Spiderman can speak for him anytime.

Heroes abusing the time stream and fucking shit up. Wolverine went back in time to kill Hank Pym and stop him from building Ultron. Hank McCoy built a time machine and brought the First Class of X-Men to the present day, to see what Cyclops had become and hopefully turn him around, and now they're sticking around doing all sorts of shit they weren't supposed to be doing in the present day.

Actually what he was drawing on the wall was a flowchart.

I imagine he was mapping out all the possibilities for his new SHIELD organization with his new alien super brain.

There was nothing bizarre or alien about what he was writing on the wall though.

Doubtful. It is probably the Tablet of Life and Time, as previous eagle-eyed members have pointed out.

It's not the Tablet.. or more specifically.. it's not the same language as the tablet.

Compare

The written language on the right side of the chalk board doesn't appear to match the written language on the tablet.

It may be the same information (essentially), but it's not a straight transcription. My guess would be that the circles and lines section is a complex formula in another language (i.e. Math) perhaps the formula for a pure GH serum?

Dammit Hank.

Guess the biggest result of all the Time stuff, is the incursion plotlines?

theory on the thing they've been drawing:

the GH 325 connects them to the Kree Supreme Intelligence somehow, which is where that information is coming from

Though it doesn't look like the show, the design directions take it closer to it (as pointed out earlier). It's quite obvious the only reason this redesign is happening is because of the show. Besides, there's plenty of precedence for Marvel doing just that.

Reed telling Peter that he should devote more time to science should prove that Cho has the upper hand. He told him he was the seventh most intelligent person in the world, with Pym and Banner saying similar things. His super intelligence is really the only thing Cho has going for him, so I don't see why this is a surprise. Fans constantly overrate Spider-Man's intelligence if the Marvel power grid fan votes are anything to show. Still, better that than having him be as dumb as he is in the movies. Especially the new ones, where he isn't even the smartest person in his class.

That's true. I would guess it is related to the tablet. Or just some Kree nonsense in his head.

Hmmmm.... I guess that's *possible*, but the foundation of an AI was my first impression on watching the episode, and sits the strongest with me.

I admit, it did remind me of circuitry too. But they already announced that in the Avengers 2 that Ultron was the result of Iron Man's work. I doubt Coulson would end up giving him this information, considering he is a ghost.

Cho ain't done shit by Peter has tons on tons of super science feats. That fancy shield and mace? Banner Tech by way of Hercules. Peter builds his own gear. He built a device to steal Sandman's soul while trying to gather an army to save the world and protecting his jock from Silver Sable riding it raw.

Excellent finale - so glad this show finally, er, showed up.

As for what Coulson is writing, maybe it's a formula for what fixed him, Skye, and Garret, and perhaps they'll have to use it to fix Fitz?

I kind of hoped that Garret wouldn't die, but man his final scene was hilarious!

Edit: I won't be all that surprised if they find a way to bring him back actually.

So it sounds like this show got good? Would I need to watch those Captain America movies to enjoy it?

Not really, but the second one is kind of huge in regards to the main plot line. It also happens to be a great movie by itself.

All right. I'll prolly wait until CA 2 is on bluray then.

Of course they make the black guy the janitor, smh

lol

Didn't Edgar Wright post some images from the Avengers cartoon a while back and some people took that to mean the Ant-Man movie would follow a similar path as that episode (lol). Anyway, if we saw Paul Rudd as a janitor in an episode of Agent of Shield that would be pretty cool. Don't even make a big deal about it. Just have him mopping in the background or something.
