I rather get Lord Fredrik, the Snowmad King over King K. Rool.
Rool never looked so bad ass.
Why was he so shadowed to begin with? There was nothing special about the reveal to justify that.

Is it, really? I don't know much about graphics, but can you create something that's completely transparent just by changing the texture? Regardless, and granted that it's not a different model, the only person whose opinion matters still considers it to be a separate costume. I'm expecting there to be a full set of Wireframe colours alongside regular Mac's colours, just like Wario had.
I really doubt that we'll be seing costumes granted to veterans who didn't already have them, of course.
Fair enough to me.

art direction for that particuler render, suppose to have a shadowy effect and just makes him look and feel more menacing.
If he happens then good times will be had, if he doesn't happen then I'll be sad but ultimately I think he appears in the game in some capacity. I'd prefer him be playable, but I don't think were getting many more newcomers if any at all

There is absolutely no way all the newcomers have been officially revealed.

Well, they went all out and gave us more than one design for each gender which is surprising, with different hair and facial expressions. I was just expecting the male Villager to have a couple of shirt variations, and the same for the female one if she was included. I'm so happy we do see the female Villager, it's one of the few alts that needed to happen, and I still wouldn't expect anything more outside of Wario's overalls, WFT, and wireframe Mac.
Their expressions and clothes are simple skins on their models, but since they've incorporated the different expressions and hairstyles as well it definitely makes me appreciate the work they've put in here so people can play as a Villager closer to their own. The female Villager looks so cute!

I don't care if it's over regular Samus or Zero Suit, but I'd like a nod to NES Metroid like this:
The problem is that the Famicom Disk System version of Metroid doesn't have armorless Samus as playable, so the green hair is pretty much just a nod to the NES versions and more specifically to the Justin Bailey code. I long for the day green hair Samus is canon Samus.

So far every alt is in some way a variation of the character's primary/main appearance in a game that in no way affect the character's names.
With the possible exception of little mac each char with alts also seems to share alts between a few appearances that don't have a clear primary priority like villager, wft and wario.
Expecting alts for every character seems outright silly as long as these boundaries don't get broken.

Also if a veteran get's cut then we can assume the Villager killed him.
But zero suit Samus in the NES game is meant to have brown hair. Justin Bailey is just a fluke code that gave her the wrong palette.

Little Mac is clearly an exception to the second rule you mention there. Wireframe Mac is the design of the generic boxer in the original Arcade game (although now it has apparently been retconned into being Little Mac too) and it hasn't appeared in anything else since then. It's about on par with any one shot designs other characters can potentially get for alts.

I've played it, King of Swing on GBA as well. They're very very good games, you just have to get the hang of the controls, then the game goes smoothly. King of Swing is superior though IMO, play it if you can.

Well, I always assumed that the whole 'Black Charizard' theme (Mega form, Shiny form) was a nod to a common Gameshark glitch that only appeared in the US Pokemon Red and Blue that would turn your Charizard black when using the Super GameBoy. So you never know.

As someone else mentioned, the Little Mac wireframe is essentially a full on recolour of the model. It's more a texture swap That makes his "alt model" status a bit less extreme/impressive than others.
