The CoD crowd isn't going to show up to anything not-CoD so it's a waste of time going after them.
Exactly, it's been done enough to know already that it doesn't work.

The energy sword doesn't mean its an elite thought. A lot of covenant technology is copies of hardware they have found.
I say they need to nail the base mechanics. Movement and shooting need to feel like Halo again. From there, keep the armor abilities, sprint and load out a but offer a mode of just pure Halo without all that. They can't move forward without introducing new mechanics to the game, it would be a wasted opportunity to find that new thing for the franchise.

Well, so it's a HE.
It is a new male character.
Great news ... but why reveal now when it could have been an E3 megaton on stage?
Is the new character the arkham knight?
Eh, lame. Was hoping that the only female component of the Halo campaign formula would finally be given a role that is more than just exposition/flavor and barking out objectives. Am disappoint.
Damn I don't know how I feel about this. We already have a strong male lead for this game. I thought Palmer could fill the gap with the female lead as Cortana![]()

Man, im gonna be pissed if it's Joker in that new spartan armor.

A FPS game series whose main intended audience are 15-30 year old males, and have a strong female primary character? Ain't going to happen, as refreshing as it would be.
I don't understand how anyone who played the game could think that.
It's that punk bitch Carmine from the Gears series.
But TR2013... :cries My daughter hates that Halo robot is a guy when we play co-op.

LOL maybe I missed something in the game but is there any other female character in the game series that can takeCortanas place?

Reach had better balanced AA's than Halo 4, what are you talking about? Active Camo was not improved whatsoever because it didn't cause the radar to go crazy like it did for Reach's version. That at least made the Camo user think about where they're going, rather than running blindly in. And I look at Promethean Vision as worse than Armor Lock. Armor Lock was frustrating in just the small quarters, otherwise it wasn't as destructive as (random scenario where I'm walking down a hallway) "Oh, great, the enemy now knows my pinpoint location because he can see through the walls."I don't disagree that Ordnance or Loadouts were broken and hurt the game. You take away my jetpack though and it will have to be out of my cold dad hands. Fuck that noise. Reach was poorly balanced, the AA in 4 are really fun.
I'm quite the same. I didn't like the changes they made in Reach's MP or any real improvements people thought they made in Halo 4's MP, and the campaign just lacked any interesting characters or stories for me. I have little interest in what Halo 5 will have (curious on the changes they're making for the single player, since it felt like a lot of changes were made in that regard), but Halo 2 Anny is something I'll certainly look at, but I'll still be cautious as I know there will be a catch. After 4, i have zero faith in 343i. I was a massive Halo fan, have all the games, some of the books, figures, a UNSC t-shirt.. etc...but Halo 4 was such a massive mis-step that it pretty much made my decision to get a PS4 over a bone. I knew once i did that QTE ending, that i had no desire to see anything else 343 had in store for Halo and that i was doen with the franchise.
Hmm. Is the new TR's Lara regarded as strong?
Anyway, i forgot about the game. Besides, the devs comments about Lara Croft in that game didn't help any ("you want to protect her" or some such shit).
Let's say that strong female protagonist in games meant for young males are not impossible but they sure ain't common, and won't be used for well established series like Halo.
I'd prefer they create a new character to fill such a role. Palmer was horrible. If you take the tits away and put a buzzcut on her, she's just another dude for all intents and purposes.
We deserve better.
You didn't play Spartan Ops, did you?Hope this new character is an ONI Spartan 4 agent sent to kill Chief. Based on the CGI halo 4 intro, It seems like ONI and Halsey aren't playing nice again, and ONI might want to use her to draw him out. All this speculation/theories are awesome honestly. Gets me excited for the future of the franchise.
Not FPS but same deal, way better than the main character.A FPS game series whose main intended audience are 15-30 year old males, and have a strong female primary character? Ain't going to happen, as refreshing as it would be.

So...what would have made her a woman?

Was hoping the Spartan on the cover would be a female but I guess that tweet up the page confirms it's another dudebro![]()

So they will show MP footage @E3?
I would say that the introduced elements in Halo 4 are not new additions, but more retooled traits that were taken from the basic elements that every player had in every Halo before. While there is more choice introduced, it actually broke down fundamentals that made the series work. Other editions were counterparts to existing stuff, which in hindsight just added more bloat and confusion to the overall sandbox. So to be hash, Halo 4 introduced very little unique in the gameplay departmentit just retooled or copied elements and broke more than help the overall gameplay.
