Sony's E3 2014 - What are we all expecting?

I don't see Crash making a return, but some PSX IP are bound to make an appearance. It is time to unleash the hounds

I would love Sony to bring back Wild Arms, Alundra, Drakan, Dark Cloud etc on the Vita. These series feel probably a bit too small for PS4, but they'd be a great fit on the Vita.

any hints of dragon's dogma 2 coming to PS4? (I read it in the xbone rumors that DD2 will come to xbone)

If Dragon's Dogma 2 is coming - and I think it probably is - I feel it's unlikely to be an Xbone exclusive. It's not really a big enough series to warrant MS paying for the exclusive, and if Capcom aren't getting any outside funding then it will definitely be on every console they can manage.

Part of me thinks there will be a Knack 2 reveal. I have no sources at all but think Sony may try to make a franchise out of it.

I think it's too soon for Knack 2. I'd really like to see Colony Wars return, and I think it could work really well as a game compatible with (but not exclusive to) Morpheus.

Yup, he expressed desire for working on DD2, DMC5 and Rival Schools 3. Not much else has been said about either of them since.

Here's hoping DD2's fate isn't riding on how good or bad Deep Down does.

I don't think DD2's chances of being greenlit depend on Deep Down at all.

Sony usually has huge swings in ups and downs in their conferences leading them to be overall boring. Especially since they have to give time to crap like Vita (ducks).

Looking forward to some good shit.

Qauntum Break
Sunset Overdrive
H2A
Forza Horizon

If Sony's fall lineup remains the same it would be disappointing.

What makes you think Quantum Break is coming this year? I'm sure it was planned for 2014 at some point but I bet Remedy delays the game.

Ntkrnl,he's been right in the past.

Yeah I think MS will have all 4 of those plus one or two Japanese exclusives that may well launch in the West too. MS confirmed they are announcing some retail Japanese exclusives at E3 in time for their Japanese launch this fall I believe.

So yeah, Sony needs at least one other big game to sit alongside The Order, TLOU Remastered and DriveClub if they want to compete on that front. Fingers crossed for a sneaky 'The Last Guardian' 2014 release…

I'm worried that Sony will be feeling so confident on strong demand for the PS4 that they'll hold back on showing much, feeling that there isn't a need yet.

Sony needs to go all out this e3 and not pull any punches, it needs to be all about games and keeping the talk to a minimum, they need to show things we arent expecting and stuff we are, TLG needs to appear, if beast is only on sony it needs to appear, more indies, as well as other stuff in the pipeline for ps4 as well as a small part of the show for ps3 and vita, and in those they need to show something exciting and actual good looking exclusives for those platforms, like Gravity Rush 2 for vita and persona 5 for ps3.

i hope that the playstation now thing isnt shown, sony may think its exciting but i dont believe people at large are excited to play streamed games, so now live showings.

e3 is a worldwide event now, even if its only in the US, so they need to act accordingly.

They need new games to show off at E3 just like every year, and we know very little about most of their 1st Party Studio output right now, so expect a few new titles at the very least. If rumblings are to be believed then both companies may have some third party exclusives too.

That time has passed. MS has thrown down the gauntlet this week and games are likely far enough in development to really start showing them.

I would totally ignore this comment had I not bought a Vita a few days ago. (throws stone regardless)

Sales and demand take everybody by surprise, it'n not like "now we sell "without games" let's cancel E3 and buy a few Ferraris with the money.

I bought a Vita in November and I agree with him. Vita announcements will get to the people that care about them at any time they're announced but won't be able to change the trajectory of the system and will waste valuable time on stage ar E3.

Do you actually believe this? I don't see why they would hold back at E3. It's time to get people excited for the upcoming games and convince more people to buy the PS4.

Let's say they don't announce anything. They still can (and mostly likely will) show Uncharted, The Order, Lily Bergamo, Deep Down, Guilty Gear Xrd, TLG, Everybody's Gone to Rapture, Shadow of the Beast, and Rime.

I just hope they don't announce a bunch of 2016+ games just to stat pad. I don't want to wait 2 years for a game I'm really interested in.

They need to show some good stuff. I want new ips from Sony studios. Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive look great on the MS side. I haven't seen anything from Sony yet that looks as good as those, and I'm a big Sony fan.

I hope they do. MS will probably do the same and I want to know at least some things that are coming in the future.

To be fair I eagely await for more news about PSNow. I only had a 360 last gen and I would really like to play some PS3 exclusives like Demon Souls.
I agree that they shouldnt waste much time with it, just the minimum necessary to announce date and first games.

I'm sure they will , just not at this E3. With all the negativity around Sony studios at the moment coupled with all the restructuring I'm setting myself up with really low expectations for E3.

It doesn't help that I've zero interest in TLG.

I want a spiritual successor to the legend of dragoon.....if not an actual sequel. I would love to have the addition system in a turn based RPG again.......was so much fun. With Sony's studios today they could truly put out a game that rivals Squares old school RPG's.

I just want to see project beast. I am sure there will be more things exciting but that is the game I want to see the most.

Next Gen Souls man

I can hardly believe its a reality this soon after Dark Souls 2

And we dont even know what kind of crazy game its even going to be. We just know there is a fog gate in it

I want: next gen ports of USFIV, Last of us, and GTAV to surprise us and all hit prior to July, coupled with MP3 and media playback support in the next update, wrapped up in a solid slate of titles from Sept to Jan with some surprises. A port of the new Elite announced would be good too.

My actual expectations...probably disappointment

I would buy a PS4 instantly for the last guardian!

Oh who am I kidding, I'll probably get one as soon as TLoU remastered is out. Sigh.

They are aware of this thread.

E3 -- its always hard to meet expectations but I know they will be trying their hardest.

They plan on trying to keep GAF updated via a thread I'll be posting closer to the conference ... You guys are considered the core audience and therefore your feedback is of critical importance.

I'm expecting Project beast to be real, and some surprise announcement, just like last e3 when Square Enix announced FF XV and KH3.

Valuable time? The problem with the 2 hour long Sony conferences was never the 5 minutes Tretton used to dedicate to the system.

To dedicate at least 15 minutes in a 2 hour conference to showcase one or two games (Gravjty Rush 2, Freedom Wars or a new announcement if they have any new game), a software reel and whatever other announcement they might have is the least they can do for one of their systems.

This is what I don't want to see:
No more AssCreed stage demos. Too played out already every year.
No sports game demos - same shit every year.
No motion control demos.
Don't even talk about VR, it's not ready yet.
Poor pacing - fix this shit. SCEJ is probably the only ones who do it right.
