We're at the point where "m'lady" jokes, etc are played out and not funny

This is when Fedoras come back. This post right here.

The...

Tipping Point.

As it were.

We need a new Dick Tracy movie

The meme is awesome for the simple reason that it's only funny because the only brehs who get salty over it have some m'lady in them.

May it never die.

This is dumb and if you spent ten seconds thinking about why it was dumb you would not have posted it.

yep, i noticed, hence the edit. sorry :P

But I still don't get why you bring up feminism? Making fun of pathetic misogynists isn't exclusive to feminism.

No problem. I probably could have made my point clearer in my original post.

I brought up feminism because it's the antithesis to misogyny is all.

Well, just because someone enjoys making fun of those "fedoras", doesn't mean they are doing it in the name of feminism :P

It's the Internet overdoing a meme that originated based on the real annoyance of guys who believe in the friend zone harassing your girl. These same people will call others a hipster for being fashionable and attractive. Then it goes back and forth forever.

Well if they claim that their motivation is to make fun of misogynists specifically then that suggests to me that they are doing it in the name of feminism, at least implicitly, which is lame reasoning because, as I said, it's not a good way of combating misogyny.

.

Thanks but no thanks, mr. fun police. It's the internet; people should be allowed to make fun of certain people without the PC-brigade breathing down their necks.

Edit: For clarification, I didn't mean it should be open season on stereotypes, etc. but rather very specific types of idocy associated with such fashion ala the fedora wearing nice guys who have warped views of women and dating.

Because everyone knows shaming socially awkward people helps them become less socially awkward.
What's with the shaming word? It sounds stupid as hell. I prefer mocking. As for why, people don't usually do it to any awkward person, they do it to awkward assholes. There's a thread of some socially awkward kid dressed in the nerd clothes who reviewed energy drinks, and the posters liked him.
lit·er·al·ly
ˈlitərəlē,ˈlitrə-/Submit
adverb
in a literal manner or sense; exactly.
"the driver took it literally when asked to go straight across the traffic circle"
synonyms: exactly, precisely, actually, really, truly; More
informal
used for emphasis or to express strong feeling while not being literally true.
"I have received literally thousands of letters"
As in, 1000 letters, not a lot of letters.
I also see some people say stuff like "the movie was so bad, it was literally painful"

I know the kid, they love him because they can laugh at how he dresses and acts.

I was pretty disappointed when a thread dedicated to mocking the "m'lady fedora wearer" popped up here - the gang mocked and teased, and then it turns out the picture originated from NeoGAF (the person was a GAFFER who posted the picture voluntarily), appeared on Reddit (photoshopped) and then eventually found its way back here. It was completely unprovoked, just a "point and laugh" thread that made it like 10+ pages before getting locked (and the user in the picture actually posting in the thread).

It felt really out of place here...

My favourite part of that thread was the guy equating wearing a fedora with dressing like a Klansman, shit was off the hook.

If they ever remake Revenge of the Nerds, it will be changed from nerds vs. jocks to neckbeards vs. hipsters. I can't wait.

Never heard of this until now. It kinda looks my Yuber avatar is doing it haha. Fuck, I don't wanna be apart of this shit!
