We're at the point where "m'lady" jokes, etc are played out and not funny

Embrace the euphoria, OP.

I've learned through gaf if anyone has an opinion I disagree with, I can just discredit them by calling them either a fedora or a hipster.

I don't find them funny, but enjoy the over saturation simply because I think the m'lady/fedora crowd needs to be shamed as much as possible.

The m'lady/fedora crowd doesn't actually exist. The entire concept is an amalgam of multiple nerd stereotypes all rolled into a single image for other nerds to point at and feel superior to.

I've never seen one, but whenever I am exposed to the meme it seems like they're just set up as easy-to-target straw men who have horrible opinions, embarrassing social graces, and conveniently horrible fashion sense.

i'd find it funny if i ever heard people say it in real life.

hell i used to think the fedora guy hate was just an internet meme until our local morning show was clowning them.

i've havent seen it that much.

"M'lady" never was meant to be funny. It was mean to mock and torment, and serve as a reminder to self-reflect and not be like that.

Nobody wants to be this guy:

I gotta stay out of this one. Last time I made a thread about fedoras I inadvertently summoned Fedora Defense Force and got banned for 5 days for accidentally posting a picture of a GAF'er. The Fedora Wars are in full swing and I can't be caught in the crossfire.

Who is User33? I mean, obviously he's a jilted neckbeard who's sick of being the internets running joke. But who is he really? What are his thoughts (my fedora looks sweet) and what are his fears (hope nobody teases my fedora) and what makes him get up in the morning, put on his fedora, kiss his rainbow dash poster and head out into the big scary world every day?

Man, what the fuck is up with you people trying to change the way people want to express themselves?

Word

Gaf isn't some grand stage for enlightened discussions wherein all posts are clever and thought provoking. People tend to act silly... a lot. As long as they act within reason, there's no harm in indulging in those jokes.

To be honest, I found this OP to be more unpleasant than all of those jokes combined.

PS: Hating on thirst, really?

If the best way to deal with misogynists is to accuse them of wearing a fedora and "saying m'lady" then feminism is fucked.
Since when does feminism consist of "accuse them of wearing a fedora and "saying m'lady""
Why are you even bringing it up?

I was pretty disappointed when a thread dedicated to mocking the "m'lady fedora wearer" popped up here - the gang mocked and teased, and then it turns out the picture originated from NeoGAF (the person was a GAFFER who posted the picture voluntarily), appeared on Reddit (photoshopped) and then eventually found its way back here. It was completely unprovoked, just a "point and laugh" thread that made it like 10+ pages before getting locked (and the user in the picture actually posting in the thread).

It felt really out of place here...

It doesn't. That's my point.

If you encounter a mysoginist there are many better ways of dealing with them then dishing out a tired m'lady meme.
