Microsoft stepping up their game with these OS updates.
If you owned a PS3 you should be used to it.i have to say as a ps4 owner that seeung ms improve their os tenfold whilst sony seems to rest on their laurels is infuriating. sony should be doing the exact same thing as ms here.
THIS!
Just grabbed this on UK Amazon, seemed a good deal:

Does this not work? I haven't tried, but I've seen it before.
My work around is to have the game audio coming out of my tv and I'm streaming Spotify to my receiver/speakers over Bluetooth.

Yes, at the cost of a chunk of screen
Xbox music won't play when you unsnap?
Nice, I have a 4TB but it's pretty chunky - http://www.ebuyer.com/339426-hgst-4tb-touro-dx3-desktop-hard-drive-0s03400
When your Seagate comes could you show a pic next to the XB1? I don't' have much space for it the Hitachi but the Seagate looks much slimmer and smaller.
External hard drive sounds nice! Cmon Sony
Why would you want an external HDD when Sony already lets you swap the internal HDD? Am I not seeing something?
I'm happier on having a one-piece PS4 (console), instead of a multiple-piece XBO (console + psu + hdd).
I'd rather have the option to do either. Plus having to copy your crap from one drive to the other is a lot more effort than slapping in a USB3 hard drive. I'm sure Sony will give us this option eventually. Why would you want an external HDD when Sony already lets you swap the internal HDD? Am I not seeing something?

UPDATE: A Microsoft spokesperson has confirmed to VideoGamer.com that the upper limit for external storage support is 16TB.

I see a 4tb for 159... not bad at all. Its WD but I am surprised everyone is ok with Seagate as I was under the impression they made crap HDD. But I had my eye on this one

Sorry if I'm late, but does the USB support refer to media files?
That'd work fine. Will WD My Passport Ultra 2TB Portable External USB 3.0 work? It doesn't require power adapter. Not sure if X1 will support it.
Those saying the Kinect sign in is slow are incorrect. It's damn near instant in my case. If you're in sight when you say "Xbox On," you're instantly logged into your profile. If you maybe were out of Kinect's line of sight, which happens to me when I'm on my PC, then the moment you properly present your face where Kinect can see it, you're signed in instantly.
Only explanation I can gather for why it may take too long for some is if Kinect isn't calibrated correctly, or if there's some other kind of interference.
I used to have a 2TB MyBook until it crapped out on me. Switched to a 4TB USB 3.0 Seagate for $170. Love it so far.
Finally that auto-sign in returns
That useless kinect auto sign-in was useless and slow.
Damn. I couldn't imagine even filling up a 1TB HDD. I did just buy one though thanks to this news. I have tons and tons of Steam games for example and my 1TB HDD isn't near fully with that and all the music I have stored on it.
even if they do they mean that what's to stop you from downloading it again to another hard drive/ you xb1?I presume that by "copy" they actually mean "move"? It would be amazing if you could make backup copies of your digital games on multiple hard drives, that would solve the problem of preservation of digital Xbox One games, which is one of the main things keeping me from going fully digital, but I doubt they would allow that because of piracy and sharing concerns. Can any Microsoft Gaffer clarify?

I'm having a hard time holding off on ordering a HDD from Amazon, but I want to wait to see if MS comes out with a list of supported devices.
Perhaps I'm missing something here but would it be possible to load up an HDD with digital games, give it to your friend and if he has your account info then play those games while you play them on your own XB1? That may be prevented by the whole "Home console" thingie but I'm not 100% sure. Anyone have some insight/clarification?

Skifta or similar apps on your phone/tablet can help - you can use them to control a DLNA server and play it on your Xbox. Maybe not perfect if you want to browse from Xbox, but better than needing to be at your PC
So that's on top of the internal disk? Making the possible max storage 16.5TB with the current SKU, and even higher when new SKUs are released with a bigger internal drive.

This. Its baffling to be honest. Probably why my bone gets more love right now. Software > *i have to say as a ps4 owner that seeung ms improve their os tenfold whilst sony seems to rest on their laurels is infuriating. sony should be doing the exact same thing as ms here.
