Amplitude (Harmonix) PS3/PS4 - KS (Funded, final day)

The whole non-Vita announcement even when their FAQ says:

While we haven’t announced our stretch goals yet (as our current goal is simply to hit our funding ask) we can confirm that Vita is a stretch goal for this project, and we’d be excited to develop for it!

Has made me not back yet.

So basically you're saying Sony using their money to advertise their own IP is sleazy? OK then.

It is when the thing is being contextualised as something Harmonix simply need crowdsourcing to make happen

Oh I'm sure Harmonix just happened to have tons of PSN credit lying around for years since RB stopped being relevant and I'm just being paranoid :^p

So close. Wasnt sure this was going to make it...SO psyched that it has...Roll on more exclusive kickstarters of once dead franchises. Exciting times...

I'm...eating my own post?

That doesn't even make sense.

Fig. to have to take back one's statements; to confess that one's predictions were wrong. You shouldn't say that to me. I'll make you eat your words. John was wrong about the election and had to eat his words.

I think that's what he means.

Just gave them $40!

Amplitude is one of the best music games I've ever played. I NEED this 2 weeks earlier, lol.

So, so good.

I don't have a PS3/PS4 at the moment but I have no problems saying I will buy a PS4 JUST for this game. So damn happy they're doing this.

How the hell did you get unbanned? Thought you got permed years ago?

Cant say i give a flying fuck how it happens, as long as it happens. Same would be true for tomba, shenmue and any number of other titles. So excited we're getting a new amplitude...

So is this going to be fist console platform exclusive game with over 750k that will get funded?
This is really the first console exclusive KS that can be said to be even (extremely) remotely comparable to the big PC Kickstarters. It's got a superloved & respected developer behind it and it's a "sequel" to a cult followy game fans have been waiting for a decade. This kind of console Kickstarter just hasn't existed before, though I'd say that all the "only pc kickstarters can make bigger bucks" people are already proven wrong by lots of pc kickstarters that get huge boosts when they have had Wii U, Vita etc. stretch goals. So the console gamers have always been there, you just need the right projects to bring those people's wallets out. Plenty of metroidvanias, platformers etc. have gotten (partly) funded by console gamers who have a past of playing the Metroids and Symphony of the Nights on Nintendos and Playstations.

I'd be excited for the game if it had just been announced as coming out. The way it's being funded upsets me. From the bribery to the stink of Sony all over it.

My post made nothing but sense. It's logic is completely sound.

Using Sony money to pay people to advertise a Sony IP to help fund it's development is sleazy.

Wait a minute. Sony gave an incentive to people to share a campaign drive to fund a game for a Sony device from an independent developer that will self publish the game? That's very cool of Sony.

Imagine if some troll had pledged multiple 10k's and pulled out at the last minute to cancel the kickstarter.

Even if some idiot did come up with that idea, they'd quickly find themselves out of luck due to the way Kickstarter works. Once a goal has been reached, it can't go back under it. So the only way to cancel a $10k pledge is to wait until it's at $785k.

Well, I never played the original games, and honestly, I don't even know if I'll end up playing it, but I threw in a $20 donation to help make that last push. I've been watching this thread since it popped up, and seeing the desolate hope from people in the first 3 days... It's really great seeing it excel so far. I want to help push it over the edge, even just a little bit. And I'll probably give away my code here on GAF at time of release.

Cheers to Harmonix. Consider it my thanks for other gaming experiences I enjoyed by only ever playing used copies of your games. Haha

Well, they could do it right before it's been reached. Kind of risky though, if they weren't paying attention.

Actually, that's probably exactly what's happening, seeing as from everything I've heard, these are $1.99/$2.19 codes being given out, which just happens to be exactly how much a Rock Band 3 track costs on the Playstation store.

I think it's finally time to give in to Sony. Accept and trust the PlayStation, it can't hurt you anymore. Don't worry, you're safe now.

It's not "sony money". They are codes given to Harmonix to be able to give away Rock Band DLC for people in competitions, gaming conventions etc. The PSN system seems to be build in a way that that's the only way such give-aways are possible.

I got the $35 tier with PSN codes -- but perhaps I failed to understand something here. That PSN money was actually a bribe and I was supposed to go spam Twitter/Facebook in return for taking it?

Am in at a lowly $20. Really glad to see this actually going to make it when it looked so grim not that long ago. I am excited for the return of Amplitude!
