Seen it last night.

Amazing, Singer nailed it. Plot, pacing, characters and action. Oh, and good luck to Whedon with his portrayal of Quicksilver, cause holy shit this one's hard to top.

One question regarding Wolvie:

At the end of the last "Wolverine" movie, he has bone claws again after the Silver Samurai incident.

At the beginning of this movie, in the future timeline, he has Adamantium claws again. How come?
I'm assuming
Wolverine realized he needed the adamantium claws to combat the sentinels and got Magneto to graft them onto his claws again.

There's a sizeable timegap between the two. That's all really. No explanation needed, other than "find out in the next solo Wolverine movie" I think

crazy at the turnaround on quicksilver. i already have my doubts on the avengers one being that good because of taylor johnson's boring ass but now the singer one is actually....great? making it an even bigger uphill climb
I can't see anyway Whedon upstages what Singer did in this movie with Quicksilver to be honest. It's that fucking rad.

edit: sorry for double post

I believe a recent interview clarified that Magneto rebonded it to his claws.

Last I heard, Bryan was returning. Is that the case?
That is the case. Along with the X2 writers this time. But if he's found guilty of the sexual assault charges, you can bet your ass Fox will replace him.

He just filed a motion to have the case dismissed based on evidence that he wasn't even in Hawaii when he's said to have molested the victim. We have to wait and see what happens. If he's innocent and gets to direct, all signs point to Apocalypse being the best X-film yet.

That's all what I've heard most recently too. I really hope he A) Didn't do it and B) Gets to do this next one.

I wonder how long his window to beat this case is with respect to his relationship to Fox.

After being thouroughly bored and disappointed by Hollywood Disaster Movie with a cameo by Godzilla, this made me feel so much better. Especially the ending. #feels

Watched it earlier tonight.. Oh man, SO GOOD. Everything was top notch, pitch perfect, and finely tuned to deliver it all. Singer really nailed it.

Hope he gets to direct the next one.

Cant think of a better director + ip combo then Singer & Xmen.

Edit: Maybe, mctiernan and die hard lol

Spidey is the best superhero and deserved so much better this year. It's a shame that it is BY FAR the weakest link of these films this year.

When I was watching this film, I felt like I was watching a Bryan Singer film. It had its directors fingerprints all throughout it and it was great (wish they wrote a bit more stuff for some characters though), and it wasn't intrusive. I miss this feeling in my Spider-Man movies.

Singer blatantly shits on X3 in this movie, it's pretty great. As far as Lolrigins goes, anyone that is sane will ignore the existence of that garbage. Did The Wolverine retcon that movie? Can't remember.

Blink powers spoilers

That sequence with her creating portals ot launch Colossus at one of the Sentinels was fucking straight out of Portal. I was sitting there thinking "Now you're thinking with portals

Yeah, Quicksilver stole the show.

He is OP as fuck

Absolutely loved it. Best Marvel film this year by far.

Exceeded my expectations that I had for it. Bryan Singer and the X-Men crew nailed it!

There's no reason, canon-wise or not, for anyone to remember Origins. Not even Deadpool.
I hate Deadpool

I know a lot of people enjoyed QS, he was definitely among my highlights. But I loved the future action scenes. Some really inspired action direction by Singer.

So this movie was fan-fucking-tastic.

Probably the best X-Men, I honestly don't even think its close. This, X2 and First Class are all great but DoFP had just a little extra to push it over the top. Lots of great moments, this film deserves all the praise it's getting and some.

Just got back..darn what a great movie! Was smiling the moment the music started at the beginning. :)
Then all the tension with the past and they trying to change things but the characters still wanting to do their own thing..and the future with the impending doom for all. :o
Then that ending!! :')

People started cheering and applauding during the ending the moment 3 characters that weren't in the entire film
Rogue, Jean looking more like Phoenix and -especially-Cyclops
appeared; and a few moments earlier when older version of another character
Beast played by Kelsey Grammer
did too.

And yeah, Quicksilver stole the show. I had no problems with his look and neither with the actor when it was announced. Evan Peters is a great actor and he had a great time filming; and it showed! Hopefully he's back even if it's as a cameo only; since the next one takes place like 10 years after this one.

He'll be back in a bigger role. It's confirmed.

Fantastic movie. Fixes all the problems the Xmen movie franchise had. Quicksilver was amazing.
The retcon with Scott and Jean Grey being alive had people cheering. Then came Apokolips.

The whole movie was awesome but like the last 30 minutes made me want to cry tears of happiness.

Fan service can compromise the quality of a story, or it can elevate it to levels of uncharted awesome sauce. With Days of Future Past, the Xmen franchise accomplishes the latter with flying colors.

I remember thinking at one point this movie was going to be a turd. So glad I was being a fool.

God damn. That movie was everything i wanted it to be.

Im sure anything i would say about it has already been before. One thing i will say is my man crush on Fassbender grew. That guy is such a good Magneto.

1. I wasn't that high on the future action.
2. This is definitely a Singer film, and that's ok.
3. QS' one action scene was utterly brilliant. Just brilliant.
4. McAvoy is suuuuuuuupremely talented.
5. Stewart, finally, is starting to look old. Makes me sad. :(
6. Jesus fuck wolvie was ripped in this.
7. Halle Berre had like 2 lines in this thing and she botched em. HORRIBLE.
8. Some nice cameos at the end. "Please forget X3."
9. Dinklage was fine but felt like a prop. Wasn't given much at all.
10. I thought it got a touch too cute trying to incorporate real history into this alt history.
11. Did I already mention Hugh Jackman? Because good lord Hugh Jackman.
12. I saw it in 3D and it was clearly an afterthought. That's good, because there was no obvious "jump at you for no other reason than 3d" moments, but it also wasn't really incorporated in any way.
13. You'll have to be a vet of the books to understand the post-credits reveal.
14. As central as Raven/J-Law was to the film, she felt awfully shallow. I never felt the tension with her and mcavoy or her and fassbender. Not like I should have.
15. There are some feels, though. Charles-on-Charles action was fantastic.
16. Some interesting imagery with drug use and addiction metaphors this time around, rather than the go-to minority rights themes present in all the others.
17. Holy shit, X-Men: Apocalypse.

I am so damn hyped for this - the impressions here are very positive!
Yeah, it's good. My wife and I saw it today and we were impressed. We aren't fans of the X-Men films (and we've even skipped some), but we thought we'd give this a go after seeing the positive reception. We enjoyed it. My wife had just come off a night shift too, but she was awake for most of the film :P

Seeing this tomorrow, am shocked at all the love it's getting. The trailers have done nothing for me. Trying to get in a x men mood just finished watching First Class, haven't seen it since it came out. It holds up really well but man there is some shitty cg and dialoge in that flick, but the stuff that work works really well.

About to start X2. Excited for it.

Whoa whoa whoa. Lower your expectations.

Aside: I found the first trailer to be a masterpiece, personally.

Just rewatched X2. I don't know why I do this to myself. Even with the White House sequence, the great little interactions, the mansion attack, the scene with Bobby's family, Magneto swaggin' his way into Pyro's heart, Stryker's complete dickishness, the Lady Deathstrike fight, and Jean's sacrifice... After all that, that final moment wipes away all my love for X2 and just reminds me of how fucking abysmal X-Men: Last Stand was. Fuck that movie. Fuck that movie so hard. Fucking Brett Ratner.

i could never get around her relationship with prof x. because she doesn't even seem to know he exists in x1 and x2 and vice versa

What was the final moment?

Wow what an amazing movie ! Best x men, and dare I say it.... Marvel movie created? Big props to singer to brining back the franchise to its glory.

Can't wait to see what they will do with the apocalypse story line!
