Patrick Bateman was fictional, so not an apt comparison.
I sympathise because I understand his loneliness and frustration at being a virgin at a late age.
It doesn't excuse his actions.
The majority of people that I've seen (mostly on Twitter, not on GAF) have preexisting notions & opinions about MRA, that they're now doubling-down on in face of the tragedy. Intentional or not, they're using a massacre to paint unrelated people in a bad light. Regardless of if they deserve negative attention or not - they are dealing them blame for this tragedy, when they are not connected. It feels exploitive, especially with the event being so recent.
That was a huge part of it as well I believe. He was a spoiled privileged and entitled person. Just nasty but he was also 135lbs and looked like he was 16. Sorority chicks ain't going for that.
His mother was on a Real Housewives series?
Cosidering the show tends to go into their family lives, I wonder if there are more videos of him that could show potential problems with behavior.
"On the day before the Day of Retribution, I will start the First Phase of my vengeance: Silently killing as many people as I can around Isla Vista by luring them into my apartment through some form of trickery."
He likely went to rich schools where everyone else is rich and they didn't want him for his money, so he had to succeed on other merits and failed.
He wrote a 100 page document with this in it
So he must have got 3 people into his apt

And people would rightfully give you shit if you started trying to blame it on "Islam" in general, rather than on an individual or a radical faction.IOf course they are. MRAs are a hate group. Their ideas are poison to people like the murderer.
And sod all is being done in relations to the safety of women. A lot of the anger from women come from the fact that they deal with men that share his attitude on a constant basis, and no one gives a shit. I mean he killed 6 women and injured 7. Seriously? That's a hate crime if I ever saw one. If he was an arab dude, and killed white people because he hates america, he'd be labelled a terrorist, and no one would give a shit why he did it.
He was supposedly homeschooled. :\
It's important to note that this woman was his stepmom. In any case, the show was more about his mother's life and her catfights with her 4 so-called friends than about him. I don't even remember him being in it at all. The show ran for 5 weeks and got cancelled after one season.

Fascinating. You could go a lifetime without finding an evil so pure.

The problem is that the dangerous ones aren't going to realize they need help and are going to attempt to conceal themselves until its too late. There has to be external intervention. This is why kids like him exist and dont get help because too many people resort to just calling them evil as if there wasnt a very human element that caused it.
man, what a shame. he should have went to university somewhere in the mid west, flash his money and he could be banging hot bitches all the time. what a dummy

The emotion is in his despair. Blaming others, and then proceeding to kill them before killing himself. All this caused by feeling lonely and unloved (he even admits it). His retribution video is very clearly "fake" in terms of it being acted. He's trying to go out with two bangs, the video and the killings.
Has it been confirmed that he killed himself?
There was that one where he said, "I'm not racist, just making a point."So it turns out this guy is also pretty racist. Pictures floating around of post from forums of him being pissed off about seeing black guys with girls, an Indian with a white girlfriend and some Asian guy taking pictures with a friend who was a white woman.
Also, the first thing I thought of when I saw him:

Agreed.
If he were truly an emotionless psychopath he would either not care that he doesn't have personal attachments our he would have learned to manipulate people well enough to get what he wants.
I'm watching his vids and he seems like he wanted women to come to HIM. Never talks about being shot down so far as I have seen ... just never being given a "chance". That's likely why he didn't get one ... I mean, we all know dudes with worse views about women and far creepier appearance can find a woman to abuse or be with (in what's likely gonna be a disruptive relationship but yeah)
He's clearly very lonely and hurt in this vids.
CNN has obtained a copy of the manifesto. Says it goes through his entire lifetime and what made him into who he is.
Also, very racist.

To add, this is a real sombering and disturbing thing to read...![]()
Holy shit this guy on CNN was going hard on NRA and gun rights.
You don't start exhibiting super early signs of personality disorders due to upbringing without some sort of massive trauma. We're not these purely rational sentient entities that people like to think we are. That was a super long read but what ended up being the issue with the boy? Was he disposed to that sort of behavior since he was little because that's how his brain was wired up or was it due to upbringing?
This really begs the question if some people are more disposed to think and react in certain ways because of how they are built chemically and at the cell level. As in there's only so much they can do without medication, and even then I'm sure most people who are "normal" wouldn't want to get medicine for something they don't feel is a problem but more of a subduing of their personality.
I hope this makes sense.
