Someone with a legit copy, can you please tell me if the game is really buggy? Should I swap my order to a PS4 copy?

Wait until the game is out and AMD/Nvidia has released new drivers, and who knows if we'll get a day one patch from Ubisoft. Easy fix if you are worried about the performance is to stop pre-ordering and wait for reports/impressions.

I thought i remember reading earlier that it wasn't just Physical copy users who could access the game early but also anyone who got the Nvidia Key from their giveaway as they could redeem the key from uplay and then load into offline mode to play?

Might be wrong but still clear that most people here lost their receipts.

I've read that nvidia keys don't show up in your uplay games section yet.

Anyone who bought the game from a cd key seller will have a physical copy cd key. If the site sent the keys out early then they can redeem and play it on uplay in offline mode or online mode post patch.

What's gonna count as photographic proof of ownership in that case? Photograph the email?

Just to be very clear. If you've already posted impressions or discussed your settings in this thread, we expect you to provide some sort of photographic proof of purchase by sometime around this time tomorrow, or there will be consequences.

As always, if you have questions or concerns about moderation policy, feel free to PM a mod or contact support@neogaf.com.

Go through the PC 2014 screenshots thread as well.

Im going to miss seeing screenshots from Dennis, Unreal, etc...

They just couldn't wait....

It made it seem like it was 14 GB, but it downloaded in seconds. I can also now confirm that the game works post-patch and in Online Mode through uPlay as well.

Can you adjust the camera when on foot to avoid the camera bobbing? If you can't I might have to pass on this to avoid motion sickness.

the email receipt says this at the bottom for my WD purchase from uplay.

Information on your game
Thank you for pre-ordering WATCH DOGS. Your product will appear in the "GAMES" section of your Uplay PC client when it releases on May 27, 2014. An email confirmation will be sent to you once the product is released, and you will then be able to download and install it through the Uplay PC client.
To install the Uplay PC client, please use the following link

yeah but you won't know its your's or someone elses email!

Nope, doesn't even show in my library yet.

Ah my mistake... But yeah the digital cd key redemption as proof of purchase would be interesting if you got it from one of those dodgy sites.

As I said in another thread earlier, when devs start offering demos on PC again, I'll stop using torrents as demos. I'm not going to blow $60+ on a product without being able to play a single second of of it, especially when said product is redeemed I lose any chance of a refund (with exception to Origin), resale, or exchange. If you think this has reduced the frequency with which I've bought games, you'd be extremely wrong. I've bought more games in the last year on PC than I did for the 3 years prior on consoles, and not just because of Steam sales.

Origin isn't much of an exception. EA's refund policy (which is only valid for EA's own games, it should be said) isn't a satisfaction guarantee; the T&Cs specifically state that EA reserves the right to deny refund requests if it feels that a user is abusing the policy (in other words, you can't use it to "try before you commit to buy"). I mean, you'd probably get away with doing so a few times by lying out your arse about technical issues, but I'd imagine the account histories of those who have requested a post-release refund are scrutinised so as to best ensure they're not trying to game the system.

I have no reason to lie. I grabbed the leaked version to test the performance since Ubisoft and PC releases has not been great on that front. And since we're not getting any demos I needed to know how it ran before I gave them my money. I played through the tutorial and then purchased the game. Haven't actually played any further than that because if the real version do perform better with a day 1 patch then I want the benefit of that.

Anyway, here you can see that it was added on the 25th (so yesterday for me since it's 5AM on the 26th for me now as shown in the screenshot). So this was before any of this with proof of purchase happened and not reactionary to it. :p

Anyway, if I get punished for using the pirated version as a short demo then so be it. Ubisoft still got their money because I was happy with the performance in the "demo".

Apparently there is no preload whatsoever for PC.

Yeah, the game is less than a day away from unlocking on Steam here in Australia and the app hasn't been updated in days. Yesterday I just downloaded a cracked version so I can use it as a sort of de facto pre-load (instructions here for anybody else interested in doing so).

I see I'm not the only one who rolls with the snipping tool in my quick launch bar :p

Screw snipping tool. ScreenSHU is da bomb. CTRL+Shift+S activates the area tool, mark the area you want a screenshot of and then you have a link to the uploaded image in a total of 5 seconds.

Do we think there's any chance Amazon would offer Steam keys (which is what they did with AC4)?

I hate not buying on Steam if I can help it.

Here is my receipt for using the Nvidia promo code on the Ubisoft website. I have the game through legitimate means and after seeing everyone in this thread posting photos and performance, I was curious. I'm not going to sugar coat it. I downloaded the game to test out my performance as I wasn't sure how my i5 was going to hold up. If there was a performance demo, I bet we wouldn't even be having this issue here with so many people on GAF. Not that that makes it inexcusable for people downloading and not purchasing it through legitimate means, as I'm sure there are people here that will be doing just that.

Anyway, here is my email I got from uPlay. Like someone else posted, the Nvidia promo codes don't show up until May 27 in the "GAMES" section. Apparently there is a bug you can bypass and play, but I wouldn't know since I redeemed my code on May 21, before any of this nonsense as well.

EDIT: I just noticed Delio's face from Skype is in the screencap. If I go down, he said should be banned too by association.

Ok guys, i won't lie, i downloaded the game as a benchmark, but i ended up playing around 2 hours so is as much as piracy, and also i won't buy the game until is dirt cheap so yeah...

Nice meeting you all, steam threads, pokeGaf, off-topic guys, etc. Bye.

Well this certainly got interesting.

I had posted a few impressions from a friend last night; I removed the comments since I can't prove he owns the game. :/

I like to think most of the community here is pretty legit and serious about the hobby. As such, I'd venture a guess that most of the offenders probably bought the game, but just got antsy with the wait and installed the leak. Doesn't make it "right" in the strictest sense, but it is what it is. :(

lol seems like people are waiting if Xyber gets banned or not to determine how they will move.

Can't say I blame them. :p

We all know that plenty of people here have used the leaked version, I'd rather come clean and get a ban than just wait it out and get a ban for not providing proof that I do own the game.

I'd rather not get banned though. :lol

Lame.

Looking back at some screenshots I took of the first chapter (wolfenstein), you may be right.

Need those 6GB cards!

But apparently the VRAM of the 6GB cards gets filled up too. Honestly with some further patches and Nvidia optimization with drivers the game will run flawless on decent rigs, no need for concern.
