Funny thing is, my Corei7 3970X Extreme Edition Six-Core OC@4.8GHz/EVGA GTX Titan-Quad SLI will run this like nothing. But I'll prolly be playing it on my newset rig which is the new Six-Core Haswell/EVGA Titan Black-SLI. Which again should be nothing but chips and dip for this game.

Interested to see how my 3770K OCed rigs (all @4.8GHz) and 4770K@4.4GHz with 780 Classified's and 780 Ti's run this. I'll even run a test on my trusty 2500K@4.8GHz/EVGA GTX 690-SLI and see what the performance is. Also interested to see what my 680 4GB and 760 SC/770 4GB will perform all with 2500K/2600K/2700K/3770K CPU's.

Call me a skeptic, but I don't see it being the most demanding PC game yet, and I'm not talking modded I'm talking standard game. I'd bet I can get at least 60fps @1080p on all my rigs, maybe a bit less until I fiddle a bit.

Also, for shits and giggles, will be running this on my ULTRA OCed GTX 460 (using aftermarket cooler with Phobya HeGrease) and Q9400@4.2GHz. See what kind of performance that'll get? Love tinkering around with my rigs when it comes to new games like this. Especially older ones. I'm thinking the 460/Q9400 gets 30fps round about at maybe 1080p, but dropped to 1600x900 if necessary. Any bets?

Guys, the stuttering is only severe if you are running on texture settings higher than what your VRAM allows. Or if you combine an MSAA solution and or higher than 1080p reoslution and the max textures settings for your GPU buffer.

The game engine itself stutters a bit here an dthere, specially when traveling fast. It's not a big deal, and it's in EVERY version of the game. Go watch the playthroughs of the PS4 version on youtube. The same exact brief sutters appear whenever there's a chase or any time the player is traveling by car.

How much vRAM? In terms of pure GPU power you will have no issues with any settings whatsoever. The 590 is essentially 2 GTX 580's (slightly cut down) in SLI. You might have to stick with High textures though if you've got the 2(4) GB version.

I just like fiddling with my older rigs to see what kind of performance I can get? Usually I'm pretty surprised. Metro: Last Light didn't do badly @1600x900 on High settings.... Couple dips under 30, but 30 overall generally.

1) Post your spec.

2) Post game settings.

3) Run MSI afterburner or EVGA Precision. Enable ingame monitoring. Select CPU & GPU usage. System & Video card ram usage and fps.

4) Take screenshot built into Afternburner / Precision and post it. Even, better if, you show a video.

Then, we might take you seriously...

I'll do the first two, but im not doing the third or fourth. I just run fraps and that's what it shows.

The cpu tech in the consoles were really advanced for their time for being multi core. PC's got 2 core cpu's with Pentium D and Core 2 duo. The hunt for higher clock frequency stopped and the gains were made through improved cpu functions. There were no consumer 6/8 cores available at the launch of last gen consoles but we did see an evolution towards more cores. AMD can't compete with Intel on the strength of individual cores, because of the weak competition, Intel cpu's have small performance jumps in the last few years. The new console cpu's too are weak on individual cores. So I think with all these factors in mind, devs will shift to utilize more cores and there is untapped power in what's available: octa cores and Intel's hyper threading technology.

Just because you can write a game to make use of more than 4 cores does not mean that devs will make games that can not run fine on a quad core in the near future!

Not only are CPUs with more than 4 cores rare outside of AMD's low per core performance offerings (and that is not going to change much any time soon), but they (quad core i5s) also kick the crap out of what is in the console!

Even if a game gets a performance boost from HT (which is no guarantee), you would have to make the game for the highest performing i7s for it to be out of reach of an overclocked i5.
