Oh yeah. Watched the movie last night on a stream.

This movie was no where near as good as people acted like.

Yeah the Magneto/Xavier/Logan parts were good but majority of the cast was just there for cool fight scenes.

It is pretty bad when Hawkeye from the Avengers had more of a character than the future characters.

And for the love of god, please get the X2 scriptwriter back.

And someone reign in Singer's visual aesthetics opinion.
Am sorry for your eyes.

The Last Stand.

@Mr Zombie: I watched the Wolverine movie a few years ago but it seem like I missed X4. I will grab a DVD tomorrow. Thanks for the replies, you were very helpful!

You mean "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" or "The Wolverine" (yes, there were two Wolverine movies with similar titles - smart, isn't it)? Because the latter was released last year. :P

You can forget the Origins movie, because it does more bad than good to the timeline and besides a thing or two, everything from that movie is either ignored or retconned by later ones.

I only watched Origins, so to hear that it doesn't affect the canon is mildly disappointing. Is 'The Wolverine' okay at least? Maybe I'll watch that too tomorrow.

So I just got back from the theater.......

Soooooooooo freaking good. Definitely one of the best comic book films I've seen in a long time. The last hour was just phenomenal after all of the buildup. I wasn't expecting to be hit by so many emotional punches but damn. Singer really knocked this one out of the park.

This was fantastic, Quicksinger putting all the pretenders to shame! I'm planning to see it at least once more on my next day off, and am absolutely HYPED for XMEN: Apocalypse.

I know I'm late to "debating" you, and realize this may be in poor form (especially with your inability to respond back), but I just want you to know that I'm glad you're banned.

Seriously, what the fuck. Are you so set against this movie that you'd deny payment to people who made it possible? That's a rhetorical question, by the way, no need to reply.

Alright I'll see if I can watch First Class before this then, so I'm not completely lost. I actually watched one before, the one in which the climax takes place in some bridge if I'm not mistaken. Too bad that's all I remember from that movie though :lol

I just watched it with a couple of mates and I got to say that I didn't like it.

Thought it was too predictable sometimes and filled with corny (imo) emotional speeches. I'm usually a sucker for emotional speeches but these did not do anything for me.

Maybe I was just tired...

Actually it's a good thing you've forgotten that one...it's one of the worst ones lol

Ew, that was X3. You don't need to watch that.

So will Wolverine have metal claws now? Since the past has been changed.
We don't know what's going to happen with that now. But remember,
"Time has a way of correcting itself."

He had them again in the future segments already, which obviously take part after The Wolverine, so he must have gotten them back at some point in between.

He has them in the distopian future due to Magneto giving them back to him. We don't know if the "saved" future Wolverine had the adamantium, and if he did, how he got it.

Just back from it, was a good xmen movie - maybe the best. A lot of plot holes tho.

I really loved the cameo by Kelsey Grammer as superior Beast at the end. Best casting ever.

I saw this last night, and I have to say I'm surprised by the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the film, since I thought it was very average. That said, my only exposure to the X-Men series is through the previous film trilogy along with First Class, but maybe this delivers more for hardcore comic fans? I don't know. Quicksilver was the best thing about the movie
and he's gone after the first half hour or so. Most of the set-pieces lacked any impact for me, which is actually impressive considering the scale of the stadium scene.

I think The Winter Soldier shits all over this tbh.

Judges movies off illegal streams brehs.

Saw it over the weekend. Buying into the massive pre-release hatedom I went into it expecting it to be one of the worst movies of the year, and coming out I can't help but feel it was one of the best. Perhaps it's because I recently got burned by Godzilla, a movie I was hotly anticipating, that I was eager for anything to live up to my expectations. DoFP blew my expectations out of the water.

Superior to First Class by a wide margin, and better even than X1 in my opinion - this is the first X-Men movie that I felt was comparable in quality and polish to a Disney-backed Marvel blockbuster. Where First Class managed to feel goofy at just about every turn (Kevin Bacon, Magneto's helmet, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, January Jones awful performance as Emma Frost...thank god she didn't make an appearance), DoFP had me captivated. While Lawrence is still miscast as Mystique I began to feel the beginnings of the femme fatale she would become later in life, whereas in First Class she managed to feel like the girl next door because I'm incapable of seeing Lawrence as anything else.

Great movie - might see it again. Here's hoping it's turning a new page on an era of quality X-Men movies. Really looking forward to Apocalyse. Winter Soldier was still superior but this movie totally took me by surprise.

This is pretty much how I felt as well. I thought the film was enjoyable, and I liked it, but it didn't blow me away. Lots of plot holes indeed, and its best not to think about it too much, but I don't love it the way that most people seem to. It's way, way better than X3, but just about anything is.

I also happened to like Winter Solider a lot more too.

Ahh... I see. Since the timeline has shifted, its possible that nothing in the latest Wolverine movie even took place.

Did I miss the part about Magneto giving him his metal back? That would be a neat trick, even for him.

Really enjoyed this one, more than the last prequel. The plot had some nice twists in it, and had good acting too. I think I enjoyed this one a bit more than Godzilla, simply on the fact that this movie wasn't as predictable, and it wasn't as much of a tease.

Really loved how Magneto
was unpredictable; he was aligned with the good side, and yet he went on his own path and acted out of his own plan almost as a villain, and yet, you could empathize with his purpose. The scene at the end where he turned the cameras towards him was the best villainous 'look at me' moment I've seen from a comic book movie
. I think they did a really good job with that.

I'm like you. Good film but not mind blowing. The continuity problems that don't make sense kinda sucks too. I dunno, it was just missing something...

My major complaint was the lack of sentinel battles against a team of xmen in modern day.

How so? From what I understood,
sending someone to the past was that girl's power, and the changes didn't get put into effect until the person came back.

The thing about
time traveling
is that it always opens up plotholes in movies so you just have to take it for what it's worth.

What if they take elements of Apocalypse: The Twelve into the new movie?

Wolverine as a Horseman. Apocalypse taking over Cyclops' body?

Yeah, I was hoping for a good, modern Sentinel battle as well.

Also, little things tend to bother me. I'm a stickler for details. Like
how did Magneto ramming railroad tracks into the bodies of the Sentinels allow him to actually control their programming?

X2 > DoFP >>> X1 >>>>> First Class = The Wolverine >>>>>>>>>>>>> X3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

This is pretty much my opinion, except I think X2 is much better than DOFP. DOFP is not bad, X2 is just too perfect.

and lol at the dude who said he watched this movie on a stream.
Such a disservice should only be reserved to bad movies... like Amazing Spider Man 2
j/k

Saw it. I'd give it a B, about equal to The Wolverine. First Class is still the best X-men movie in my book.
Had a fun time, but not crazy about it. It was a very heavy-handed script.

I liked both The Winter Soldier and Godzilla a whole lot more. However, this definitely beats ASM2.

Just saw it today. Future battles with Blink and the past with Quicksilver were definitely my favourite parts of the movie.
I think the movie might have had the best display of superpowers in a flick in a longtime, if not ever.

I really liked it, loved the cameos and not knowing about them before hand. As a long time fan I really appreciate that sorta stuff even if its just a few seconds of screen time.

Perfect Fraiser Beast! :D Cyclops! :D Yes! :D Thank you for 'fixing' that death shit from X3.

Gotta hand it to them, they stick to their 'world' instead of trying to reboot (another origin, new actors etc) things every 4 seconds like everyone else. In my opinion they've successfully melded two different eras/characters into a nice little package - I like them both and now just consider it one thing.

Can't wait for X-Men Apocalypse! My fav X-Men character finally appears!

Went to see it earlier today. I only caught up with the X-men movies post 2003 at the beginning of this year with First Class and X-3. Couldn't watch all of Origins because it was shit and I didn't bother with The Wolverine because of that. Also read a few of the comics so I knew what to expect. My friend and I thought it was pretty good and we are fairly nitpicky. Looking forward to Apocalypse.

Sorry if its already been addressed, but Wolverine almost seemingly had none of his 'sense' abilities.

Wouldn't he be able to just smell Mystique instantly and go "She's that one"?

Yeah I thought this was the worst scene in the movie, precisely because it was so pivotal to the endgame but made no fucking sense at all.

Kinberg.

Hopefully his bullshit will be filtered through the more talented writing duo of Dougherty and Harris in the next film.

So was 'The Wolverine' worth a rental or was it garbage like Origins? Kind of curious to check it out before seeing DoFP.

It's really fucking good if the last thing you saw was X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

But if you've seen any other half-decent movie worth giving your attention to, then it's kind of middling.

Well he obviously has to smell her butt directly to figure it out! I'm guessing that didn't happen.

Yea was debating that or Pacific Rim to watch. One to prep for DoFP, the other because most people don't shut up about how incredible it was...(and a small few despise it). Never heard a peep about The Wolverine though, felt it just came and went and no one I know saw it.

It's pretty okay. X-Men 1 tier, I'd say. Has a stupid finale and 'Viper' fucking sucks in every scene she's in, but it's not without its moments. It's LEAGUES above Origins. Watch the Extended/Director's Cut though.

The Wolverine is pretty interesting up until the last 20-30 minutes, which are dumb and bad and everyone involved knows it (or at least Jackman does :lol). Also, Viper is the fucking worst villain in one of these movies since Batman & Robin, and that's not an exaggeration.

But I'd still say it's worth a rental. It's a step in the right direction at least, though that's not hard coming off Origins.
