You're actually going for the platinum? I didn't feel like replaying the whole game again on that mode. It should've been to best the game on fury mode, but they went and made you have to get everything again.

The amount of extra you have to do after you beat the game on Fury mode isn't really that much. 4 caves of evil and 4 additional bosses with a little grinding so you can equip the final sword. I just knocked out the 4 caves and am at 96 blades. I just need to do the final four battles, mostly, now.

Freedom Wars's Ibara video.

I... honestly wish Sony would goddamn stop with their weirdass marketing.

Edit: I know I probably won't play/buy/like much of what Sony will announce at E3... but since they're doing the movie theathre thing, I can get hyped, right? RIGHT?

I mean, they might not be for Vita, but that 400 USD Vita Addon is still pretty nice.

... It seriously looks like I'll spend for another 10k Yen PSN Card sooner than later. I still have some left, but Ao Evolution and Sen II are sure-buys for me.

JP PSN (2014/6/5 ~ 2014/6/25)
コープスパーティー ブラッドカバー リピーティッドフィアー (Corpse Party Blood Cover Repeated Fear)
1000 Yen (exc. tax, which should be +80 Yen)
コープスパーティー Book of Shadows (Corpse Party ~)
1000 Yen (exc. tax)

Also, 6/26 will see the DL ver release of the Extra Chapter コープスパーティー -THE ANTHOLOGY- サチコの恋愛遊戯❤Hysteric Birthday 2U. At 3800 Yen w/o tax.

Freedom Wars beta will come up next-week (in Japan) for those who got SSD, aye? Do we already have a thread for it?

(I'll only jump in on the 12th, tho)

Obscure question for this thread, but I guess its PSN related.

I just got a Vita-2000 and I was wondering if it was worth Final Fantasy Tactics or FFT: War of the Lions. I know the Lions version had slow down issues on the PSP and was this fixed with the PS Vita running it?

Thanks.

Get the PSX version. Personally, I love how gritty the translations are in the original but if you can tolerate the slowdowns in WotL, it's a great remake with a lot of additional content.

Ratchet & Clank HD Trilogy coming to Vita on the 2nd of July in EU

We’re really excited by how well the PS Vita port of the HD Trilogy has turned out. It looks amazing and is a terrific way to play the classic Ratchet & Clank adventures. We can’t wait for you to get your hands on it and take Ratchet with you wherever you may go.

I originally played The War of the Lions on my brothers PSP and turned it off after the first battle due to slow downs. Thanks for the info, guess Ill stick with the original.

I really don't get why some of you are hype for the R&C Vita collection, not just because it's being ported by the same team that ported the Jak and Daxter trilogy, but mainly because so far barely a handful of PS2 ports run fine on the Vita.

I mean hell Stranger's Wrath runs good on the Vita and that was an Xbox game lol.

But the Xbox is more powerful than the PS2.

Well Stranger's Wrath also got a PS3 release first before being ported to the PS Vita, so if it followed the same route, then how come those other games run so bad?

Am I willing to put effort into fury mode for a virtual trophy? I really did enjoy the game though. Got any tips?

Sly trilogy works amazingly on Vita. Played more than 60 hours on it.

Plus, I never played R&C, so this will be a new experience for me. If frame rate is above 20, it's oke by me.

People forget the Ps2 was also a very quirky machine that had at the time an insane amount of memory bandwidth. The OG Xbox was just a PC at heart and probably an easier port compared to the tricks that Ps2 developers had to do back in the day.

Farming Simulator is actually getting a retail release on Vita: http://www.gaming-age.com/2014/05/f...in-june&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitter

I'm done if it's another port of the phone version.
Even numbered years (12 and 14) are the mobile/handheld versions as far as I can tell, while odd numbered are the PC/console one.

Go petition SOE for new PvZ. They're the group that ported Peggle/PvZ/Peggle Nights to PSP/PSV. That might have been pre-EA buyout, though.
SOE seems pretty much done publishing anything that isn't a MMO at this point. I'd expect the people responsible for those ports have either been reassigned or were part of SOE's layoff during the recent years.

Have you any evidence to say that?

Because no PS2 port on Vita is perfect, not even Persona 4 that is a Vita exclusive, while many Xbox, Wii and Ps3 ports run very well with native res and some with AA.

We are not talking about emulation where emulating a PS3 emulating a PS2 is worse than emulating a PS2, ports are a totally different thing, if for some reason PS3 code is easier to port on Vita than PS2 code then porting the PS3 code of a PS2 port would be better than porting the original PS2 code imo.

Just for clarification: I only spoke about Sony collection ports. I don't have évidences but it looks pretty obvious. These are pretty cheap and quick ports. Do you really think they are going back to the PS2 games instead of using the assets created for the PS3 versions?

This might have something to do with Emotion Engine - if i remember correctly it has very unbalanced characterics and it more powerfull than ps3 at one of tasks ?

What about the assets of Virtua tennis 4, Atelier games and other awesome PS3 ports that are native res + AA? Are you telling me that PS2 hd assets are heavier than native PS3 assets?

and what about Persona 4 golden that is exclusive to Vita?
Are you telling me that all the PS2 ports are cheap and/or had bad teams while all the PS3 ports have good funds and/or good teams?

I don't think so.

I edited my post, I only spoke about Sony Collections.

downporting PS3 HD collections that have already gotten cleaner textures & resolution, sweet aspect ratios and trophies, probably makes more sense financially than re-HD'ing the PS2 games a second time from the ground up

I'm not picky. I can acclimate to lower framerates or having to use backtouch. Having some of my favorite games ever from that system/era on this handheld thing I love so much makes me happy. Same reason I love being able to tap those FFVI & Chrono Trigger bubbles, even though they're worse versions.

It seems definitely native res, but ARGH

I wouldn't say it's native res. Every one of those screenshots are well above Vita's resolution. That should concern people. Sony was at least upfront with the disaster that was Jak, and never released bullshots with Sly/GoW.

No, we're saying that PS2 is a very particular console with strange hardware. To make the best out of porting them to PS3, I'm sure a lot of those collections used PS3's strange hardware. Vita has no strange hardware, so it's getting a downport of a port. It would cost more money to go back to the PS2 code, but I think it would be worth it. Clearly Sony doesn't agree.

There's no issue with me buying PS3 games (eg Rayman 2 and Rayman 3) in the sale assuming I ever get a PS3 is there? I claimed all PS+ games on all platforms so I have a treasure trove of games for when I get a PS3 and/or PS4, so I doubt there's any downside. Just don't want to miss the opportunity.

If you only have a Vita you'd have to use the webstore to buy PS4/PS3 content.

As for Sly 4, I don't believe Sony repeats PS+ content often, if ever. I'm sure there will be another steep sale on PSN, though.

Have you any evidence to say that?

Doesn't the Jak Vita port have PS3 UI for the controller?

As much as I'd like Shadow Warrior on the PS Vita, if they can't get a stable solid Framerate I don't think it'd be worth it.

I personally will settle for solid 30 FPS but if the frame rate is iffy, I may not bother.

The only issues I can think for CT and FF6 is the loading times but those I can stomach more :P

Looking for help with PSN on PS3, so reaching out to GAF here.

Quick background - 360 was primary console last gen, but I have (and enjoyed) my PS3 for single-player exclusives. Now, a PS4 owner (eBay sale) I decided to try PS+ membership for first time.

So given that, downloaded Unchartered 3 on PS3 yesterday AM and the experience has been extremely painful (and still not resolved). Download times were in the area of 8 hours and the multiple files downloaded would not install. This is not the first time I've had trouble with PSN so reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced/overcome this.

For the record I have a 30MB/5MB connection and have tried downloading the files both hard-wired and over wifi. I have no such download problems on my PC, 360, One or (so far) the PS4 so it seems localized to the PS3, that is why I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

Can't speak for the not installing thing but yeah I've always had dl issues on my ps3 (but not for any other console or device in my house). It's part of why I did the majority of gaming on my 360 last gen. On a positive note, the ps4 doesn't seem to be plagued by that.

Screenshots' original size on flickr is 1280x720, but I don't think they are PS3 shots

They took the Vita build and are running it in a higher resolution for the press shots. It's misleading stuff, because it's not going to look like that on the handheld.

Just noticed this in the PvZ: GW blog post:

Additionally, PvZ Garden Warfare on PS4 will also be playable via Remote Play on the PS Vita, giving players the option to take the fun of PvZ Garden Warfare on the go.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/05/29/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare-hits-ps4-ps3-on-819/

This is the second time EA has used Remote Play as a selling point for their games:

Continue the Race with Remote Play

This feature will work out of the box, allowing players to put down their DualShock 4, grab their Vita, and continue their game for those moments when you have to give up the TV. This is a great new feature, and when you also consider the drop-in functionality of Overwatch mode, we’re giving you more ways to enjoy and play Need for Speed.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/11/04/need-for-speed-rivals-coming-to-ps4-on-november-15th/

That's a PS4/PSV selling point EA, it's also rubbing salt in the wounds of those who don't own a quadruple.

Anyway, anyone find it weird that the R&C Vita thing isn't on the US blog? Are SCEA not going to release it, or are they really saving that for an E3 announcement? I don't recall any NA retailers leaking it.
