Just finished up Fury mode of Muramasa... well, mostly.
I still have to do the alternate endings and get the remaining 20 blades.
Nice going. I am about to clear up my Momo playthrough, first time. Just beat the
inspiration for the Amazon, Raijin I think. Or was it Fujin? Just got out of heaven.
I didn't think I would like this game as much as I do, but then again I do love me some DC, though that combat is defintiely more in depth. I can't wait to try Fury mode, and potentially go for the Plat. I see your woes, though, about trying for it. Little bits at a time should prove to make it more stomachable :D
I should just buy Minecraft PS3 for $20 right?
get Vita version free.

and then pay $5 for PS4 upgrade that's it?
Yep, that is my plan, eventually. Every time I boot up Terraria I ask myself when I am going to buy Minecraft...likely going to bite on it in a few weeks. I've only played the Lite Mobile version, and I enjoyed it for the little time I spent with it. I can't wait to try it out with physical controls. For some reason though, playing MC on my PS3 just doesn't tickle my fancy like it does sitting in the same chair, playing it on my Vita..

Edit: 100ppp master class top of page recommendations:
Murumasa
Terraria

And one out of left field....

South Park and the Stick of Truth

Looking for help with PSN on PS3, so reaching out to GAF here.

Quick background - 360 was primary console last gen, but I have (and enjoyed) my PS3 for single-player exclusives. Now, a PS4 owner (eBay sale) I decided to try PS+ membership for first time.

So given that, downloaded Unchartered 3 on PS3 yesterday AM and the experience has been extremely painful (and still not resolved). Download times were in the area of 8 hours and the multiple files downloaded would not install. This is not the first time I've had trouble with PSN so reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced/overcome this.

For the record I have a 30MB/5MB connection and have tried downloading the files both hard-wired and over wifi. I have no such download problems on my PC, 360, One or (so far) the PS4 so it seems localized to the PS3, that is why I'm wondering if I'm missing something.
I haven't had many issues dl'ing and installing on my PS3, only the Vita. My only and relatively worthless recommendation is to queue everything up, go to turn off the PSTriple, and select the option to complete downloads before turning the system off :| So scientific!!! But this way it *should* take care of it all in one fell swoop. Iirc, I do slightly rememebr hearing woes about UC3 downloads, from the massive file size, to needing many pieces of the game for it to work. I think the free MP component had to be installed on some people machines to even get the SP portion to work. This is the last UC I need to play, and haven't yet had the space free to attempt the DL.
With Minecraft coming out on the Vita I got a craving to craft something. How is Terraria? Been reading some reviews and it looks like a shit ton of content for only $15. Might have to pick it up.
Someone else did answer, but I'll chime in too. It IS a shit ton of content for cheap, and the file size is crazy small. I have wasted FAR more time than I ever thought to this game. It can be very hypnotic. There is a demo, check that out. It really only is for showing you the basic concepts of the game, and basic crafting. All the super awesome stuff is obviously only in the full game, but if you enjoy the demo you'll love the full dealio.

Not a bad month for Europe as usual, if only because of Dragon's Crown. I'm guessing Pixeljunk Shooter and Trine 2 will be the two free PS4 games for North America too.

NA PS+ changes
- 2 games per platform per month (total 6 per month)
- starting in July, all games to be up first Tuesday of the month (no more guesswork)
- not sure if we are still gonna have yearly IGC..

June PS+
Trine 2: Complete Story (PS4)

Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate (PS4)

NBA 2K14 (PS3)

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (PS3)

Terraria (PS Vita)

Mutant Mudds Deluxe (PS Vita)

Pretty excited about the Vita PS+ :D

EDIT: beaten. whatever lol

Am I willing to put effort into fury mode for a virtual trophy? I really did enjoy the game though. Got any tips?

It's not as bad as you'd think -- the first boss for Kisuke was kind of a hurdle because you have such limited sword techniques. Momohime's second boss was a bit of an irritation, but you can just play that one really patient and manage to turtle him to death if you don't take risks. The two most difficult bosses I ran into were Kisuke's Act 5 and Final boss after that... the act 5 boss was the only one where I actually used Omura Whetstones so I could make sure to be able to abuse specials.

By the time you get to the caves of evil you need to complete, you can whetstone spam or abuse specials profusely...

Other than being patient at times, it's about treating your sword's special bar as if it was your life and managing those correctly. This combined with a decent mastery of the ability to juggle certain enemy types and moving the roll button to R made it so it wasn't bad at all.

It's actually a lot of fun -- for the most part, I've liked the challenge and most of the time, I just felt like I could get it if I tried again.

If you try it out and get stuck, let me know where you got stuck and I'll try to offer more contextual advice.

Rayman sale but no Legends. :/

Speaking of Legends, I'm still grinding that last effin' trophy.
I hate "online" trophies to begin with... but beyond that, I reaaaaaaallly think the goalpost they set for the final level of awesomeness is ridiculous. I've had the rest of the trophies done for MONTHS at this point and play the daily challenges pretty much every day getting some combination of silver and bronze (with occasional golds depending on circumstances) because I can't be bothered to waste tons of time trying to go for golds or diamond cups. I think with today's bronzes I will be 901 points short of getting that damn trophy.

At an average of 6 points per day, I still have to grind the daily challenges every day for approximately 21 more weeks.

Hooray for another 5+ months of grinding for this stupid trophy.

Wow. They finally are adopting the EU approach with all games on the first Tuesday? That's wonderful. And I see that holding off for a giant sale on Terarria and getting Mutant Mudds on PC paid off. Not the greatest games for me, but at least I don't own either and might actually be interested in playing them on Vita.

Isn't Sly 4 crossbuy -- so Vita owners might get that too next week.
The PS4 games are kind of a letdown... glad I don't really care about those.

Edit: Holy shnikes at EU giving out DC for VIta for free. Still killin' it and making NA look bad.
I'd like the PS3 version for free on NA+, please. :P

I was able to manage gold for both dailies everyday for about 30 mins each day and completed the trophy in 3 months. Only during weekends that I did try those diamond cup once in a while if it's the bottomless pit if it is as many lums or as fast as possible.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little letdown by this.

Whoa I was just about to buy Terraria. Awesome month for Vita. If Sly 4 is cross buy then that's 3 Vita games I was eventually going to buy in the future.

Just got a $50 card for my Vita, deciding what to buy.

I'm deciding on:

Rayman 1
Rayman 2
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Daxter

I was going to get Crash Tag Team Racing, but surprise, it's not Vita compatible.

Also I sadly just missed the RPG sale, might've grabbed Persona 3 or Knights in the Nightmare.

Should I wait until E3 if Sony might bring back the compatibility of the missing PS1 and PSP games?
Get more native Vita games. And also hotline miami.

it says right in the blog post that Sly is cross buy and will be free for Vita next month.

US PS Blog said:
Sly Cooper and pals are back in Thieves of Time — since it’s a cross-buy title, Plus members will get both the PS3 and Vita versions next month.

Definitely can't complain about June PS+. Going home for the summer so I'll definitely play NBA 2k14 with my brother, but I never would have actually bought it. Still wish it was PS4 but I guess that's too much to ask. Always wanted to play Sly, and bonus cross buy is fantastic. Terraria and Mutant Mudds are two games I've always wanted to try but don't own on any platform (which is rare for indies because I buy almost every humble bundle on PC). PS4 games are perfectly fine as well, wasn't interested to buy either one, but for free I'll definitely play them.

RIP yearly IGC though, oh well.

Those PS+ titles and all on one day?

Edit: All on one day thing starts on July. Still though, good amount of PS+ games.

To be honest, I think I've tried this before, but am not against trying it again, thanks for help!

Not gonna lie, I'm a little letdown by this.

By the changes to the system or by the June lineup?

The lineup itself is pretty damn good. The changes to the system, I am a bit mixed. All of them being offered the same day is nice, but the loss of the yearly IGC is too bad.

Actually, now that I think about it, the PS3 sometimes gets 2 games a month. So the total number of games you get a year stays just about constant.

Not sure if it's been mentioned or how long it's been up but Injustice: Gods Among Us - Ultimate Edition for the ps4 is just £12:79 on the EU PS store, it'll be having me some of that!

Dragon's Crown alone completely farted NA's PS+ June games.
It's not like Terraria is bad, as I'm interested into it, but Dragon's Crown is a whole lot different.

Honestly, as someone currently subscribed to PS+ the removal of yearly games barely affects me. At worst it means I get a few less games per year depending on how they were going to refresh them. But two games per system each month covers that loss for me just in the extra PS4 games.

What it affects more is new PS+ subscribers. Yearly was nice, because it meant you had those games plus whatever was currently offered that month right when you signed up for plus. So you could get a boost of 4-5 free games per system (2 for PS4) right away when signing up, instead of the 2 per system you will get now. Again, doesn't affect me at all, sucks for new subscribers I guess.

Yearly IGC doesn't quite make sense if you think about it.
but I was really looking forward to LBP Vita and HSG Vita being added as yearly IGC

but well... haha at least some people won't freak out over having Knack as a freebie for a year!

EDIT: well seems like we may get Knack for a year afterall ( I don't know if Knack is or not )

I am mistaken. Just checked, it has always been 3 PS+ titles per month since at least October last year. Not too sure about earlier.

You need to read it again. He said the yearly igc will not be replaced.

Is it weird that I actually liked the spread out release approach for PS+? That way, every Tuesday I knew I had a free game coming, and if it was a slow week I could at least try it for free. Now, I'll have 6 games on the first Tuesday and be overwhelmed! But really, I guess the change is better for clarity sake.

I still don't have a PS4 though. So this just means they took a game from me every month.

Still, My backlog lasts until 2016/17. I'll be fine.

Some PS4 plus games may end up being cross buy like Sly 4 for PS3 + vita is, so there's that. And think of it as building up your PS4 library so you have 20+ games ready to go if you ever do buy a PS4.

Nah. Most of the time I just log in to add the games to my account, not download them. It'll save me the hassle of checking the list every week.

I like the spread approach if there are a lot of games I want, but usually between Vita and PS4 there is only 1 game I am interested in per month.

In the worst case that could be 2 months between games if it's one that was available the first of the month with the 2nd game at the end of the next month.

Just noticed this in the PvZ: GW blog post:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/05/29/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare-hits-ps4-ps3-on-819/

This is the second time EA has used Remote Play as a selling point for their games:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/11/04/need-for-speed-rivals-coming-to-ps4-on-november-15th/

That's a PS4/PSV selling point EA, it's also rubbing salt in the wounds of those who don't own a quadruple.

Anyway, anyone find it weird that the R&C Vita thing isn't on the US blog? Are SCEA not going to release it, or are they really saving that for an E3 announcement? I don't recall any NA retailers leaking it.

And then they don't deliver a good control scheme for Fifa 14 Remote Play, fucking idiots. It's just one button that has to be changed but I don't want to deal with it every time I use Remote Play.

I was hoping for some bigger Vita games... Like Dragon's Crown!

Edit: the changes to the system don't bother me at all though. I'm cool with that.

This might have something to do with Emotion Engine - if i remember correctly it has very unbalanced characterics and it more powerfull than ps3 at one of tasks ?
It could be, nothing is like it seems in information science lol.

I edited my post, I only spoke about Sony Collections.
Ah ok, but IIRC no PS2 port is native res(maybe one sly cooper?)

No, we're saying that PS2 is a very particular console with strange hardware. To make the best out of porting them to PS3, I'm sure a lot of those collections used PS3's strange hardware. Vita has no strange hardware, so it's getting a downport of a port. It would cost more money to go back to the PS2 code, but I think it would be worth it. Clearly Sony doesn't agree.

Doesn't the Jak Vita port have PS3 UI for the controller?
Persona 4 golden is a port straight from PS2 and it's not native res...

I don't think it's out of this world to think that Vita was developed with the PS3 in mind(other than the PS4) right? That would explain why many ports of games made to run on the strange hardware of the PS3 run well and why Epic at the presentation of Vita said that they were able to port Dungeon Defender(or whatever the name) in a week.

It doesn't matter if a PS3 game is a native PS3 game or a port from PS2/XBox/Wii/whatever, it remains a PS3 game and we saw how good PS3 games ported to Vita can be.

Stranger's Wrath is a "downport of a port" from Xbox and runs well, only ports of PS2 games are the problem.

Not even the PS3 is able to run most of the PS2 ports at full resolution(1080p), how can you pretend Vita to do what PS3 can't?

Imo 3 are the options:
1)PS2 hardware or code has something that is hard to translate on Ps3 and Vita
2)if i were sony i would make a tool to help porting from PS2, if that's the case then that tool is probably not good enough.
3)1+2

I was hoping for some bigger Vita games... Like Dragon's Crown!

Edit: the changes to the system don't bother me at all though. I'm cool with that.

Well, sly cooper I believery is cross buy so that is Vita's bug game for the month. I like this month's offering because of terraria. Also, I already have dragon's Crown.

Kinda iffy on Vita games as chances are, any I want will be on PS+ soon enough. Including 3rd-party retail games right?

Hell, anyone kind enough to give me a total history of PS+ content from beginning to now? Preferably NA? That'd answer a lot of questions.

It seems like yo recently got PS+ right if yes then go buy Hotline Miami since they don't repeat games.

Nah. For any individual game, it is still unlikely to be up on ps+.

I could always give it a timeframe and give in then. I'm a budget spender, I don't commonly buy games day 1 anymore unless they're my most hyped games (Sonic Lost World Wii U being my most recent, MK8 might be next).

Also, does this mean WipeOut 2048, Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush are being removed after being on PS+ for a long while?

Looks like I got here just in time! :D

Good luck with that. Games never repeat on PS+ except when a cross buy one gets released for another platform.

Yep, just bought my Vita on the 26th.

List of NA PS+ Games

Sometimes games that go on sale end up landing on Plus a month/a few months latter. Examples of this include Rayman Origins (on sale in August 2013 but came to Plus September 2013, Many of the Carve Indie games (Stealth Inc., Thomas is Alone, Lone Survior) all came to plus two months after they went on sale in that Jaunary sale this year).

Another month of Plus, another great win for gamers across every platform.

I will be downloading at least 1 game on each platform. Incredible value.
