How can you not be interested in any kind of museum? Not to mention that there are a lot of beautiful museums in London.

-edit

Nevermind, just saw the follow up post.

I've got two weeks in London, timed to the start of the world cup.

Which pubs should I go to at night to see the games? My nights will be spent watching football/soccer.

Which museums or places should I visit? Planning on Tate Museum, Raf museum, British library, British Museum, Tower of London.

Imperial war museum is pretty interesting as well.

If you're interested in WW2/The Blitz, the Cabinet War Rooms are really good

go to the maritime campus, and think, hmm i've seen it before, and you will have, it's been in Thor, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tomb Raider.

pimping out my Old Uni, shit they should pay me

Oh that's what I meant with 'Greenwich' actually.

The Natural History Museum. It's like Darwin's Cathedral.

but deep down we are a friendly noble proud people, a bit like those Emo teenagers , they may all look sullen and down and pissy but they just want a hug, OP will you be that hugger?

Most British always look more approachable than the stereotypical Dutch idiot.

If you use the tube, make sure to stand on the left side of the escalators and engage people in conversation on the trains. Londoners love that

Thanks a lot for the suggestions.
I didn't know I went to London until yesterday and I'm leaving monday already.

I've been there 3 or 4 times already. I was just hoping for some original and new ideas.
That's why I ruled museums and musicals out :p

We'll just have a few relaxing days filled with shopping, sight seeing and enjoying the local ales.

If you want atmosphere and shit buried away in the city go to the City of London. Try the Telegraph in Moorgate. Go on a Friday when the banker wankers are all there. We make the atmosphere.

Go to Meatliqour

Good lord that place is good

God yes, I had a game over drink at that place. Some combination of 6-7 spirits topped with mountain dew. Was revolting but the burger more than made up for it.

If you're dutch, try out De Hems in Chinatown.

Are people seriously suggesting Primark as something to visit or is it a joke?

If you guys are being serious, capitalism has utterly defeated you.

If you're in London you HAVE to go to Nando's ... does the best chicken.

No they don't. I'm actually Portuguese, Nando's is the McDonalds equivalent of what good periperi chicken should be. It sucks ass and the only reason you can seriously like it is if you've never tasted a good original recipe.

It's not bad, but it's incredibly average.

as well as if you listen to your music catalog on your smart phones speakers, Londoners love discovering new music, or listening to some old classics.

feel free to engage in long phone conversations on the bus, punctuate every other word with, nah mate or Fuck.

My Missus is french she loves Primark, seems a lot her friends from France love shopping there to as the clothes are so cheap, compared to in Europe, if the OP can pick up a few bits then why not?

I don't mean to keep Double Posting honest guvnor.

oh OP you need to learn cockney rhyming slang , how much a monkey is too

Oh ... well in that case if your thirsty try getting a drink at Starbucks, if your in London you have to try them. They do amazing coffee.

Going to London but not going to a museum is silly. That's like going to Rome and not looking at the Colosseum

A - Primark exists in France and all over Europe as well. Including the Netherlands, where the OP is from. And it's just as cheap (actually even cheaper in most cases because of the €).

B - You completely missed the point I was trying to make. Primark represents capitalism at it's most despicable extreme.

OP has been before and has already visited the museums.

The fact that people have proper escalator etiquettes is one of my favoriete things in Britain

I will be in London for 6 days. I need to still find a place through airbnb. Where in London (what neighborhood) should I stay GAF?

London has hop-on-hop-off buses that you can take to view some of the major sites. Also, check out the City of London, which is within London itself.

No Museums? The Tate Modern has a brilliant Matisse exhibition on at the moment and the Tate Modern is an iconic building as well. You should go there.

Food and people-watching at Borough Market is cool if you're around on a Saturday.

Also check out Heart Of Gaming! It's about 20mins outside the centre of town on the Piccadilly line tube. Lots of arcade cabs, Streetfighter, Daytona etc. Lovely people too.

I don't know their prices, but you could check out the Hilton in Kensington Olympia? It's got busses that stop in front of it that go straight into Central London.

Holy shit how do you book a trip to London and still spell it Londen?

My suggestion, get a guide to help you with the street signs before you get seriously lost.

Head to The Good Mixer in Camden on Sunday night at 11 then head over to Marathon for a French guy playing Dick Dale covers in the back room.

Look. He wants to go to Londen and he wants to get laid, and he wants to get drunk, and generally have a good time. Can you help him?
