Profound sadness
Well, at the very least you know that this stuff isn't region locked.
Supposedly a metaphorical toggle-able switch is available for developers to allow PS3 controllers, like a Hori USB stick, for PS4 games. I would hope ArcSys takes advantage of this.
I wonder how many new characters will be added to the console version and how many will be dlc.
With the way they ArcSys handles game updates/sequels, I'd honestly rather wait until Spring for an initial release with a bigger cast. If it was KI-style, a smaller cast would not bother me as much.
Don't ArcSys make a profit from the sales of BB/GG etc. themed sticks?
I can't imagine waiting when it comes to fighting games. You'd be so far behind by the time you'd start that you'd be left behind. I'd rather level up alongside everyone else so I stay competitive. I feel this genre demands it or you wont have any fun since the fans are dedicated and the games are built around 1 v 1. It's not like CoD or other team based games where you can be carried.
And they'll use the "next-gen" excuse to justify raising the prices to $15 for each DLC character.
I thought it was up to developers whether or not old sticks were compatible with their games? No. Sony should patch them in via firmware update. It would lead to a lot of good will from FG fans.
Not everyone plays the game competitively, if youre just playing casually or in local comps it doesnt have as big an impact

Yeah good point they should just open up compatibility and take if out of developers hands if that's the case. Either way I can't wait to get into this game and I'm pretty happy it's Fall for some reason I thought it was an early 2015 release.and you think it's out of Sony's control?
Are you shitting me? BBCS netcode is godly. Miles ahead than Capcom, Namco, Netherrealm, and all the competition. Is there a remote chance that this will use GGPO?
Huge fan of GG and BB but online play compared to KI was really an awful experience and i don't have much of a chance to play fighting games offline

BB doesn't have bad netcode, but it's a commonly held belief that each subsequent version of BB had worse netplay that the previous one. Whether that's true, or just a side effect of the player base shrinking with each new release is up to you.I think you're the first person to ever claim BB has bad netcode.

If anyone checks out the IGN page on a mobile browser there's a release date for Sep 30. on the bottom of the page.
I'm assuming this is a generic placeholder date when they don't have an actual confirmed release date.

BlazBlue is often considered to have the best netcode of any fighter out there with the possible exception of GGPO.

Anyway, GGPO probably would not jive well with an Unreal Engine game so I'm going to say no to that possibility.
Fuck I had forgotten about Arcana Heart 3 Love Max. So now it's THREE ArcSys fighters hitting the West this fall. Oh man.
(Arcana Heart is technically by Examu but whatever it still counts as an ArcSys game since the console port is by them)
You forgot Under Night In-Birth if you import that game.
I laughed way to hard at that. Perfect reply.
Is ArcSys also handling the console port of that game too?
Blazblue had a continuing story arc across all the different versions. Not that that means too much to most people, but it's a reason to hang on to the older discs.I would buy this but they're just going to re-release the crap out of this game like they did BlazBlue. If I could get some sort of confirmation that my initial vanilla version will be future proof upgradable then I'm in.
Just hope Hori announces a PS4 stick soon so I don't go and buy a PS3 one.
