I have two game cube controllers just waiting to be relevant again. I really hope this allows for me to use my controllers for Brawl as well on the Wii U. Nintendo doesn't seem to think it is cool for me to have two of the same save files on two systems.

That's a good point, I guess I'm just remembering melees 1000 vs battles for mewtwo. Though of course I think you could just beat all the event matches.

Speaking of VGC, I have a question for anyone who may have been in the scene back then. Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal was infamous for having 200+ turn battles on average, and this was the reason why GF made the metagame so much faster and switched to Doubles, a metagamane decidedly much faster than Singles.
So does anyone know what the hell those tournaments were like. I imagine them to be pretty bad

When I first got my Wii, THAT monstrosity is how I played Smash Bros and other Gamecube games for YEARs. Went through 2 controllers with very VERY little use, buttons stop woring, it's crap.
Now their wireless controller is halfway decent, although nothing compared to OG and it is very very small

My understanding is that Ken was a dick to M2K back when Ken was on top and M2K was still seen as weird and creepy and unwelcome. I'm sure beating the old king so badly was very vindicating for him. I think M2K still holds the grudge to this day, based off his impressions during streams.

Yeah, watching Ken's expression in that one gets depressing after a couple matches. Fans always seem to want the old school players to come back, but then when it happens, it usually doesn't live up to expectation. Such a long exhibition seems excessive for the situation there...
