Rewards are revealed before you need to choose them, right? I'm sitting on coins but will only redeem them if the rewards are good this year.
If I recall right previously it's been the year closes and then they announce the rewards.
You don't spend coins on gold/platinum rewards.

Yes, but the year-end Gold / Platinum rewards don't cost coins.
im pretty sure they are saying they have codes they can redeem to get coins to get to gold or plat status, not that they spend coins on the rewards, and thus were asking if the rewards are announced before the cut off for making gold or plat status.

Yea, I was asking if I can sit on my codes, wait for the rewards announcements, and then make platinum/gold status before the order date is up or if they close eligibility after announcing rewards.
I have at least 400 coins worth of stuff that I'd like to throw down but I would like to see the rewards first before deciding.

Pikmin 3 is absolutely amazing and possibly my favorite Wii U game.
Looking at the CN site without logging in I can see both retail and digital ITBs for it still listed.
Having the same issue. Originally wanted WW HD, but after hearing of the update for Pikmin 3 & having it control like the Nintendoland mini-game, it seems a bit more tempting...even though I couldn't get into the original (especially with the time limit of 30 days).

Okay, so if I register my Mario Kart 8 right now, can I wait until the new CN year to fill the survey for the bonus game? Or will I have to fill it right away?
I'm already Platinum, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be hard for me to reach it on the next CN year, so I try to save game codes until then...
Same thing with Kirby Triple Deluxe... I'd get more coins by registering it now, but I'm wondering if I should keep it until next CN year to make sure I'll get Platinum...

Register MK8 by end of July in order to get the free game, so you can wait.

How does the free game redemption work? Do you have to pick one or is there a link you can forward that the recipient can use to pick? I have all of the games on offer (physical media for life) and was going to give away (either to my brother or on here) my extra.
Rest assured that it won't be.
30-day registration survey. Wait until next week to register. (I'm waiting until next week to purchase it on eShop for that reason, since you can't hoard eShop CN registrations. :/ )

I picked up MK8 today but I've been wondering if I should save registering it until after June 30th so it can go towards my next Elite Status. I'll lose 20 coins (after 4 weeks/pre-registration) I think, but what do you guys think? I can still get my free game until July 31st so...
I'm waiting to register mine until after June 30th as well.
Yup. That's my plan too. I rather use those extra coins in the next club nintendo year.

Quick question: if I say, buy Super Metroid for the Wii U VC now, can I hoard the code for a few months until I get my own system and then register the code? Or do they expire?
Did you do both the ITB surveys? They always have separate ones for each version.

I should have known better than try to redeem my free game today of all days. When I was finally able to long on and register Mario Kart 8 and tried to get my downland code for Wind Waker, it just gave me a page saying I've already redeemed the code, when I clearly have not.
Don't they usually also send an email with the download code when you redeem games from Club Nintendo?

Yep, and I realized my Zelda 4 Swords survey expires today.
Check your account history. It should have the download code somewhere in there under Order History or something.
If you're talking about using CN coins to get the code, that'll work. The codes sometimes expire, but it's usually like years if so. Just check the page where you order real carefully to see if it expires.
