Probably gonna be 2015 though.

Maybe we will get a Dark Souls Collection on PS4 and a Demons Souls remaster in the meantime!

But strong agreements with all the bolded. Dark Souls 2 would have benefitted heavily from some serious editting (cut content, tighten up areas, more freedom) not to mention a bit more focus on individual details.

I also would have loved more effort into maintaining the visual fidelity shown in the original reveal (duh it was gorgeous)

As for the story stuff. After watching ENB's playthrough it seems actually really well thought out and connected. Actually more telegraphed than the first game IMHO

As for the ending. Its hard to claim multiple endings as a Souls precedent since the previous games only had 2 endings max and there are only 2 previous games.

The entire point of those two endings in each game is that you have the freedom to set the direction of the world in the manner you feel justified in doing.

Dark Souls 2 does not allow for this possibility, there is no interpretation to the story. It is simply "do the thing because this person is unquestionably bad".

The genius of post dark souls 1 dlc, is that while you can argue manus was one of the big bad's, gwyn was maintained as the final boss in order to not interfere with player interpretation of him. Arguably the DLC only further confounds the decision as it enforces the wickedness of the dark while not blatantly justifying gwyn.

Well graphically it doesn't look all that special. The art style is fantastic, but this is hardly going to be a visual showcase for PS4. If it was downgraded i'd be pretty shocked, actually if anything I expect it to look better by launch as the framerate obviously needs some work.

Also remember that Sony Japan is apparently co-developing and they have a great tech team so I really wouldn't worry about the game getting a downgrade, it's a totally different scenario from 'From Software' working on a game solo for last gen consoles.

I think we should not judge how good it's going to look visually on grainy, super low res video clips.

Well Demons Souls / Dark Souls weren't graphical showpieces for the PS3. I agree with the frame-rate comment though, game could be running steady and it could be attributed to the nature of the footage.

I was just commenting on the fact that people shouldn't worry about a downgrade as this is a totally different situation to DSII on PS3.

The point is, Project Beast wouldn't exist if Sony wasn't paying for it. They didn't moneyhat a game, they commissioned one. Without that, From would most likely be working on something different.

The former was done in conjunction with SCEJ--their teams and resources. The latter was done as a multiplatform spinoff of the idea germinated with Demon's, or if we go farther back, with the Kingsfield series, which incidentally had a history with PS. Demon's souls would not have existed without Sony, in fact, they had so little faith in the concept that they never bothered to market it internationally and let Atlus pick up the slack. This was a mistake, which I am sure they now realize, and thus we have a true Demon's Souls successor.

I also don't know if that's a genuine mistake, but Dark Souls 1&2 were published by Namco, they were not independently published.

Why wouldn't you trust the actual leak?

I mean sure 4chan is grain of salt the website when it comes to videogames but this entire leak came from there, I don't see why would you nitpick a particular part of the leak when clearly everything else is real.
