The online patch just came out along with some new paid DLC, so if they're going to announce a localization, it should be happening soon. Unless a Burst version does end up happening, then we'd get that.
Just beat Catherine and got Katherine's good ending. Great game but Im a bit fatigued from playing this so I might just watch the other endings on youtube. This game makes me crave for Persona 5 since all the voices were in persona 3 and 4!
How is 3D in Monster Hunter games? I guess that would need some work.
Most people would be OK if MH Vita used those PS2 models with extra anti aliasing and not much more. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD is one of the best selling PS3 games in Japan after all.
They didn't but chances are greater it will appear there instead of the Vita. Still doesn't discount the fact the MHP3rd was released on an HD console.

And Amazon Fire TV has a better chance than both since it runs on Android. Does that change anything?
I think I pointed at MGP3rdHD in my post. It could happen again, but if they release on a homeconsole they'd probably be targeting the West. And the WiiU is not the best bet if you want to target that audience.
I'm beginning to think MH fans who want the game on platforms other than Nintendo are the console equivalent of the PC gamers who call Dark Souls a terrible port. :lol

Market analysts probably figure there's not enough market to justify porting that iOS game to Vita -- especially outside of Japan. I'm just guessing... but I have this feeling like, compared to other genres, hunting games don't have enough pull to get marketing and ports for the west (hell, look at Namco and GE2, right?)... add that to a low install base and only a subset of that install base likes hunting games and only a subset of that subset are really wanting MH for the platform and probably a subset of that subset have a 3DS and just bought whatever MH was just released over there.
You're fighting a losing battle.
Like me wanting Project Beast to come to PC or Capcom to put DMC team back on DMC for DMC5. :lol

Seems counter intuitive given the
- Precedent and popularity of the games on PSP/PS3
- The rise in popularity of Vita in Japan year over year
- The massive swath of Hunting games selling 100K+ in MH's absence
Seems like easy money being left on the table. Money they would have gladly jumped on before with their conservative agenda.

- The Monster Hunter fanbase is on the 3DS. That's the present and that's important. A new PS3 (or PS4) port could happen though.
- Vita has 3 million consoles sold. At this rate, it'll be at 4 millions by the end of the year. Monster Hunter is used to sell >3 million units. There isn't a userbase that can sustain such a juggernaut.
- Read above.
They'd rather make Monster Hunter Smart with the money they'd have used to port the game on the Vita. Business wise, it makes more sense.

Wii U is the only bet because Nintendo moneyhats happened.
It's either that or stick with 3DS only releases.
I do have a hunch that if Frontier G does well on the Vita, Capcom may turn their head to the Vita and hopefully that means a proper sequel on a Sony device.

I thought it was closer to 7 million? There were even bets on it reaching 10 million on the next fiscal year.

Have you guys seen this blogpost? Really hoping that they would announce a Vita release since the beautiful colors would look amazing on the Vita. Besides these kinds of indie games would perform really well on the Vita.

Monster Hunter Frontier G is not going to do well on the Vita, just as it didn't do well on PS3 or WiiU. It's an old MMO-like game with a subscription fee and iirc it's filled with intrusive microtransactions.

Capcom has pretty much stopped supporting the Vita and barely did so in the first place. It got what...two fighting games and then the Capcom-published Dustforce? The upcoming Monster Hunter Frontier G port is surprising.
Hell, look at their 3DS offerings now. Isn't it pretty much just Monster Hunter and Ace Attorney at this point?
Talking about Monster Hunter on Vita and expecting the latter's sales to remain static is weird. Monster Hunter would increase Vita sales pre and post launch. It would create a userbase for itself.
Frontier is going to flop on Vita, and if it didn't, Capcom wouldn't release a proper MH anyways. A proper MH would just step on Frontier's toes, and I'm sure Capcom would rather have a monthly online fee + microtransactions over years instead of just a one time cash injection.

Go back and look what Capcom did in the previous generation. It started with a lot of ports/remakes, trailed off and ended up the same way-- Ace Attorney (ports up until the fourth game) on DS and Monster Hunter on PSP.

Well the have a FULL and Upgrade port of Unite on IOS, MHO on effing CryENGINE in China.
Frontier is the only games thats on damn near everything
Their strategy for growth with this series is very disjointed. Its weird that the main series was happy and successful on both Sony and Nintendo Platforms with Unite, Portable 3rd, MH3 and 3G all occupying similar timeframes
Then they went back to single console lockdown with MH4, shifted strategies all over the place. Makes my head spin thinking about it. Almost seems like steps backwards, sideways and upside compared to how other franchises have grown within Capcom.
There aren't 3 million potential customers on the Vita. Any game has ever gotten 100% attach rate (don't count WiiSports or Super Mario Bros...). The best selling hunting action game has sold 400k units.
If your mid/long term strategy includes expanding the audience of your mainstream franchise, you choose a mainstream platform, not a niche one.

That's because everything non-MH/AA/SF (which wouldn't have repeat success) they put on 3DS flopped.

Frontier is bad and I don't get why they'd put money on that shit seeing how it has sold on PS3 and WiiU.
And I won't drop support for PS3 and PS4. Both platforms are popular in the West, so they could try and appeal to the core gaming audience (the kind of people that buys games like Demon's Souls and other skill based games) releasing it on those consoles. That's an audience they could and should target.
If I were Capcom, I'd release a port on PS3 or PS4 before the Vita just for that reason. They don't need to release it on another handheld because they already have Japan locked. The West is another story.
What, really? It's a quite awesome game; its biggest flaw might be being too mechanically similar to Trine 1, but if you haven't played it, that shouldn't be an issue. It's a beautiful game, too.
I never played MH Frontier. I could care less what everyone says about it, I am buying it day 1. Yea, there is all this stuff that is known about the past versions of it. I personally do not think that Capcom is going to release the exact same game, with exact same policies behind it. By this I mean monthly fees, and others. Yes it is an mmo, but no real data has been released as far as the Vita version, correct? Despite everything they have done over the years, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt.
Crossing my Mega Busters and Greatswords that I am correct :|

Ya'll need to stop whining.
If you guys want to play MoHu so bad, you might as well get a 3DS now. Yes it's a shitty handheld but the Vita ain't getting anything from Capcom apart from MMO scraps.
And even then, MoHu ain't that bad on the 3DS if you have that archaic CPP.
Well...snapdragons. Or would it be snaprathaloses? Rahtalosii? In any case, color me corrected in every way. Thanks for the additional info, though. Depending on when it might see the light of day in America, I may still pick it up. Anytime after MH4U release, no thanks. TIme will tell. But I also do like mediocre versions of good games...I mean, I bought Guilty Gear Isuka after all~!
Back to proper business, Vita bidniss, has anyone played the newer Armored Core games for PSP? Mainly AC3 and the newer ones? I have the UMD of the first AC game, and I have been eyeing those for a while. I doubt I'll buy them soon, due to my ever increasing log, but I have been curious for a bit now.

At least Mohu has got a future. Virtua Fighter is my fighting game of choice, but I came to a depressing realisations that current Sega will never release another non-arcade version.

I'm not sure how the circle pads work for games that would have you using analog sticks for movement, but for games where you'd want a d-pad, they're abysmal.

Glob, you speak the truth. I really don't have many 3DS games, but it can certainly be a chore to use that slider. Good thing I have all that practice from the PSP! Thanks Sony <3
I'm a complete JRPG noob, but I'm almost done with P4G. It's got to be one of the best games I've ever played. I can't believe it will all be over soon.

Well, once you beat it you can play through the whole game again .....I did that the second my game ended....and spend a week streght beating it AGAIN on new game +...best game on Vita !
Seriously though, the game was such a great surprise to me and I just fell in love with the game. Glad you are enjoying it . If you are still interested in the Persona series after this, maybe you can check out Persona 3 Portable. It is 20 bucks on PSN sadly, but it's worth every penny; gameplay and design is very similar to P4G, the characters are just as interesting as P4G and you can play as a Female Main Character (a bigger deal than you can imagine; makes some sections really funny ). If you beat Persona 4 Golden again and want to play something similar to that, then P3P is a good choice .
Where are you exactly in P4G? If you are in December in the game, the game can end VERY soon if you make the bad choice;
if you let the team throw Namatame into the TV, you get the bad ending and even if you don't throw him in, you have to pick PERFECT responses to continue the game...very annoying .
Did you play the Wii U port? 3DS assets (like weapons) are untouched and the game doesn't even run at 60FPS, it has an awful stutter unlike the 3DS version. And I doubt 4 will have a story worth caring about. Much more interested in the other hunting games myself.
I just got my $10 PSN credit from Sony Rewards. I thought they were going to mail actual cards (like it implied in the receipt) but I just received two emails with codes. Thanks again for the heads up on the 22 Jump Street promotion lol

I actually did get a bad ending at that point. I came online and learned of how much game is missed if it ends there. I then proceeded to load my save and continue on the good path. Right now I'm about to enter the TV to chase
