Fighting Games Weekly | May 26-June 1 | Thank you, Keits

I think you need a new PC if the average frame rate is 60fps. My average frame rate is 250. And you might double check your graphics settings, make sure VSYNC is OFF and Frame Rate is at FIXED because it's been documented that if you'll get input lag if VSYNC is ON and Variable/Smooth frame rate will make the game run differently than it suppose to.

My benchmark use to be over 100 in the past. I think in the 130's or 140's. What I'm seeing now isn't an actual average, the frame rate seems to be locked. It keeps bouncing back and forth between 59 and 60 and never going above or below those two numbers. I did check my settings and that's the way my settings were before and it hasn't changed. So I'm not sure what's up with it.

I really think this is an issue with my PC. At one moment, it's running the game normally. Over time as the application is active, the game begins to drop in performance.

Sounds like a leak of some sort. The game was giving me shit yesterday (stuttering audio, performance feeling sluggish but still running at 60, control issues), but today everything is perfect after I realized I had steam in compatibility mode. Unfortunately, I'm probably the only person with Steam in compatibility mode (to fix a separate crash), so that helps no one. Since something so small could cause so many issues, I'm sure the dev team will figure something out. It might take a few patches to sort out.

Do you think it's possible that you have an external framelimiter? Maybe through your graphics control panel or something like that?

Here is a small preview of what I am working on, a video called "The Online Warrior: An UMVC3 Combo Video" http://gfycat.com/ThunderousAlarmedCassowary
Basically its a video showing off the various online UMVC3 players showing off their combos in UMVC3 online, going to still be working on it still, still need more combos and others things still to finish the video, but it is a sneek peek for you guys!

Honestly, I think I'm just gonna retire it until Xrd comes out and hopefully a PS4 PCB will be out(you can do something like that right?) and I'll just install that.

I actually do have another stick, my UMvC3 Hori stick. It's wonky though because it autopauses depending on how hard I hit the buttons, I think there's a loose wire or something.(It's the whole reason I decided to get a new stick) I'll just use that and if it autopauses I'll open it up and try to see where the loose wire is.

PS360+ is solder free, $60 and will add PS4 via firmware. Super easy PCB to install.

Totally contact Hori first though.

yup, variable framerate will actually make you miss links you would otherwise get, I was shocked at how much my execution improved when I switched it to fixed.

Sweet, I'm still waiting for a reply from Hori, but I'll totally do this if they can't help. Would it work on a Fighting Edge though? I hear the touchpad makes things a little tricky when it comes to modding.

It's all good guys, at 800x600 I get 70FPS.

a lot of stuff happened the past two weeks but the most disappointing, by far, is ppl shitting on UFGT and Bum having a feminine moment on twitter.

tough timez

dudes these days~

for the record, i have never been to UFGT (regrettably) but I have heard nothing but praise from intermediate to advanced level players. I respect the TO and staff that ran one of the tightest/non sloppy tourneys the scene will ever know. its a shame it ended so soon. the tourney will be missed. regardless of how you feel about keits (ive only met him once and I came away thinking he could work on his people skills), you cant deny that he ran a real event. props given

as for Bum, its a true shame and he has really been showing his ass lately. there is nothing worse than exposing yourself on facebook and twitter but for him to do it in the fashion he did was just a really bad look. "IM UPSET I WONT SAY WHY I AM BUT I WILL LIST REASONS WHY I AM NOT UPSET" it was real bad and just a poor cry for attention. marvel community had a bad week :/

A mid-range GPU from five years ago is more than enough to run AE on PC. Anyway, the stream version is crap so they better fix it before Ultra comes out.

I watched most of the top 16 vods available on youtube. So I kinda know what to expect, but watching something live always adds that bit of excitement to it that's missing when watching vods. And yes Ultra is gonna be crazy town :D

Someone can be hype for E3? I mean, yes, it's a good comedy show, but you get hype watching companies bumbling around without the slightest clue on wtf they should be doing?

I just tried it again, my settings are exactly the same as it was before. I do finally realize why it feels off to me. The game runs like I have a PC from 2006. Everything just feels kind of slow and off. When moving around with my character in training mode, he wouldn't jump forward when I input up forward several times. So their might be more to it then just that.

Are you on a MadCatz stick? If so, check if the stick isn't accidentally in analog stick emulation mode. That mode makes inputs feel all kinds of sloppy and haphazard.

Still debating on whether to get Ultra or not.

There's a good chance that I'll play it for about a week then never touch it again going by my previous experiences with SF.

Don't? I mean, why give Capcom money for a sloppy piece of shit? Even more so if you end up not really playing it. At that point you're just wasting money and giving Capcom a signal that sloppy shit where you buff top10 characters and nerf Deejay and Gief because ??? is OK. If you're ok with spending money just for support, throw it at SNK or Lab Zero or something, or just grab something you actually like or save it for Xrd or whatever.

I just started getting in to fight games, been learning to play them. Question do your thumbs get use to after a while cuz me thumbs sore as hell. Should I just get a arcade stick

Mine used to get really sore when I was still playing on pad. Eventually it got better, but I ended up switching to stick. Although it takes a while to get used to that as well, I personally think it feels more fun and easier to use than a pad. It basically comes down to personal preference.

If we had less posts like this the world would be a better place.

If you're not sure if you want to get USF4 or not, wait and see how things turn out. Try the game on somebody else's system. If you like it, get your own copy. If you don't, try other games.

lol they brought back that japanese ass model to the show.

lol @ gief being nerfed.

I figured this was common knowledge for anyone who followed SG. He has mentioned on several occasions that Hsien-Ko is one of his favorite characters ever iirc.
He probably has mentioned it and I just didn't mentally register it. I also haven't really watched a Salty Cupcakes, or whatever it is now, other than the odd archive when something big gets shown off. Like semi-finished Eliza.

It was an answer to a guy who thought he'd play it for a week and leave it to dust. I don't like where USF4 is going, I don't like how it was handled, of course I'm telling people who feel they probably wouldn't like it to not buy it out of habit. The only thing that can ever really get through to the stubborn, bureau-corporatic heads of Capcom high management is money. A happy customer and a guy who bought it and went "bleh" look just the same to them.

If you like SF4 enough to buy it, or like where USF4 is going, the correct choice for you personally if to buy it, absolutely. It's absolutely the correct thing to do, no matter what some ranting Finn is typing on his keyboard.

Daigo was just straight up trolling Nuki in their match. Throwing out a bunch of random dive kicks and EX axe kicks raw. Well I guess it might be over but it was worth it for me to see his Evil Ryu in action and win for once. I'm sure these matches will make their way to Youtube in a few hours or so.

Looking forward to it man - I know I haven't said it to you yet, but I appreciate the effort you're putting in to showcase these online Marvel players doing their thing.

This is about to begin

http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv180058973

Stream about the arcade version of USF4 getting the update to the console version featuring Momochi and Evil Daigo.

Hope someone put this on YouTube already since I only just woke up again. Gonna search later or check if the link is already posted in here.
