Fighting Games Weekly | June 2-8 | The Final Kountdown

Hey guys, I just found a leak of a SFV trailer. Interactables confirmed:

I seriously doubt you can gather anything really substantive from a non-gameplay trailer other than the art direction.

I just uploaded the latest official trailer for USFIV Hype!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJ3ONTRFSqE

Based on this trailer I can extrapolate this:

*Trading hits works different now than in the old SF games (like the way their feet meet in an X, if that was a trade they would both reel back)

*Characters can dodge attacks while dashing forward

*Ken has a dive kick

*Game has 3D movement.

Which is all bull shit because that comment by Capcom was clearly PR lip service. Neither of those characters had some of the moves seen in the trailer nor does the actual game play flow like that.

Not to mention that Kens punches reach incredibly far. It's the part that always bothered me.

Funny enough, you get that the game is a 3D environment when that response was done by Capcom specifically to address if it was a 3D or 2D playing field.

Watching the trailer again, they always move in a straight line so the 2D aspect seems correct.

The Ken jump in didn't look like a kick to me, just a jump in. The divekick aspect comes from the overall video editing speeding up the video there so it seemed more stylistic than system based.

The dodge attacks by dashing through them, isn't that effectively done with focus attack? Absorb then dash? Especially if it's something quick like moving towards a fireball. I eat fireballs all day and if you weren't already familiar with the engine you might not even notice the absorb time since the movement can be pretty fast. Actually at like 40 seconds you can see what's a focus attack, blue lighting and all included.

I keep missing the air trade you're talking about, so I can't comment on that.

I've gathered that SF4 has parries, that there is a run mechanic, that Ryu has some sort of EX dash move that leaves a blue trail, and that the grass field stage (AKA BEST FUCKING STAGE) is in there.

While the trailer was cg it was still made in a way to mimic game play. Ninja Yellow did the flip kick thing, Ninja Blue did freezie stuff. I definitely expect to see some sort of interactable thing in the new MK like the branch Ninja blue grabbed in the trailer.

I also definitely don't want to play this game.

CG usually looks more exciting and interesting than actual gameplay. If you are hoping the gameplay will be faster than the CG trailer, you will probably be disappointed.

SF4 #TeamCG!?

I remember the mass disappointment when the only thing that had those cool ink effects were the focus attacks.

Ryu and Akumas Heavy Dragon Punch use the ink attacks. I agree in that it's a nice art style and at least the focus attacks use it, but I think for the simplicity of the graphics (to make reading the screen easier) it would've been best to leave them out. It wouldn't surprise me if they already discussed this.
Just my theory on it.

is MKX a nidhogg sequel?

man they really updated those graphics! and they changed the orange guy to blue or something
