PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Quick question, I was thinking about picking up this dock for the vita 2000, but reading reviews says the cable ends with a USB cable, and doesn't come with the USB to wall plug adapter thing that comes with the normal charging cable. Same review said you could just use an extra iPhone USB to wall plug adapter, but I thought I read somewhere that the vita needed a specific number of amps or something and that wouldn't work/would be bad. Is this true or could I just use one of my 50 extra iPhone wall plugs? With my room setup, the dock plug wouldn't be that easily accessible or I would just use my normal charger plug, but I want to keep that with me for charging on the go.

Top of the page: All PS+ games on one day is July not June, don't ask why X game isn't available!

Oh, I don't know if it works without PS+. Pretty sure it started off as a PS+ feature but now is available to everyone. And, yes, it works for demos.
Nice, thank you. I'll see what the PS+ rewards are this month, and maybe I'll subscribe if they are tempting enough.

So is 1001 Spikes crossbuy PSV/PS4 ?

R3 is one of the best FPS of last gen.

This is true. I don't know if it was due to lowered expectations or getting it for dirt cheap, but I had a blast with Resistance 3. The weapons are neat. Story is decent. I skipped the first two installments.

Just to be clear, you can still 'purchase' games and demos from the webstore and download them manually on PS3. You don't have to use the auto-download feature. As soon as you buy the games or demos they are attached to your account (account management > transaction management > download list). I still find this faster than the console store. I think I misunderstood what you originally asked, lol. Sorry for the confusion.

I've just discovered that if the PS network isn't available, all the games I bought from their store can't be played. This is outrageous. What the hell is going on? These aren't multiplayer games. They don't require internet access, yet I'm locked out of them because the network is down. This is unacceptable.

Set your psn account on PS4 as primary.

How is Rainbow Moon? I see it's on sale this week.

There's a demo. From what I get from the demo is that there is a lot of grinding ( I played the demo on the highest difficulty so maybe that's the reason). However, I'm still going to buy the game. :P

Damn..this is probably a better thread to post this in, so copying from the update thread..

I've been using Remote Play through my home wi-fi this whole time and it's been mediocre, but playable, just finished a renovation so my PS4 is now further away from the router and having remote play go from PS4 > Router > Vita > Router > PS4 is now far too much..so I'm trying to connect directly.

I have remote play and connect directly ticked on the PS4's settings, went to connect directly on the vita, entered the code and left it sitting right next to the PS4 but all I get is this message:

"Could not connect to the PS4 system.

Confirm whether the number you entered is correct. If the number is correct, this connection method cannot be used. Select [Connect Directly to the PS4 System]."

Any thoughts on a solution? 10+ times now with the same result. Both are fully updated, while it's trying to register, the connection bars are full.

hmm, thinking of getting the rockband instruments for friends and family to come and play
(my house is gonna become a mini-arcade at this rate...)

found a deal that sells the RB1 instruments for $50 (38.50USD)
but should I get RB2 and RB3 instead?

RB2 drums are better as the pads are quieter and the pedal has a metal plating. RB1 pedals are all-plastic and can break easily. I believe RB3 drums would have the same plated pedal as RB2's. They do.
edit: also, the RB1 drums have no inputs for the cymbals and I think only the RB3 set supports dual pedals without mods/special plugs.

Don't remember if there's any difference between the guitars apart from the fretboard color.

edit2: can't really comment on the price, tho.

New thread, on the third day, already at 500+ posts. Nice action here. Plenty to catch up on. I want to pick up BL2, I figure I could get a good deal in the BST thread, but that box...@ the " Get ready to JOY PUKE your face off anywhere!" comment on the back of the BL2 box. I want that on my shelf, even if no one actively sees it. PLus the reversible cover is sliiiiiiiiick.

I beat Murumasa with both characters finally, though I didn't do any extra playing of it. There seems to be quite the large amount of areas to explore...and for now I will hold off. So glad the game is so small on the mem card, it'll have a home there for a bit. I also just beat South Park and the Stick of Truth. Hilarious game, easy RPG elements. Didn't think I'd blow through it as quick as I did. I had a blast the whiole time, and will certainly support all their future titles.

I've been meaning to do this too, as the last music game I played was GH2. Sadly I have nothing to contribute to this, aside from the obligatory "nice!" :P

My only input is that RB1 drums have 4 pads, while Guitar Hero World Tour drums have 5 (3 pads 2 cymbals), so if you get RB1 drums you can't use them if you ever decide to get GH:WT, but the opposite does work. I'm not sure what kind of drum set RB2 or 3 uses though. There are subtle differences with all the guitars but it is generally not very different between them. Unfortunately, the build quality of GH:WT drums is notoriously bad, so there's that to consider as well.

I found Rainbow Moon got VERY dull VERY quickly. A grind is OK if the gameplay is compelling, but I didn't find that to be the case.

I had given up on OlliOlli due to the constant crashing, nice to know they fixed it.

Actually there's also a second reason why I gave up on that game: it was destroying my left stick.

So good to know it's cross-buy, I'll play it on PS3 or PS4 instead.

The Utada song in it was never contracted to be used in a digital release, only physical.

Licence issues, I believe. "Illegal" is probably not the best way of stating that. :)

It's illegal for Birth By Sleep to be distributed digitally.

Square is just being cheapass, and does not want to amend the contract/make new contract for the song.

Either ways, the ship has long sailed as there's Kingdom Heart 2.5 HD (which includes Birth by Sleep in case anyone doesn't know) to be released on the year 2048, and KH3 on year 2500 (directed by the ghost of Nomura).

I have personally lost hope in the series after they scrapped BbS Vol.2, and wish that the series would just end sooner. Nomura mentioned that KH3 would only end the "Xehanort arc", but honestly, if the new stories will continue to center on Sora/Riku, I'd hypnotize myself to make me forget I've ever played KH. They need to start fresh if they want to continue this Disney/Square thing.

Do you really want them to reboot Kingdom Hearts? You're probably going to be some Jedi in training under Master Mickey.

Just do it, it's fine. Vita 2k does not draw more "amps" than USB specifies (Vita 1k sure as hell did though, hence the proprietary charging plug). If you have a charger with a USB plug, it can handle it. No danger to either component.

don't understand why I can't copy back my screenshots etc to my new HDD on the PS4 :/
and it's now bricked until Sony puts the full 1.71 update on its website

I know this is a terrible question to ask, but just wanted to confirm. PSN won't update until 6-9pm EST (and sometimes even later, as it's not always consistent), correct? Since I got my Vita, I've only been buying games digitally. But this is the first time I've wanted to buy a game at launch digitally.

I've charged my Vita using the USB to Vita cable + My Nexus 7 USB to Wall thing. Didn't got any problem.

Last time I charged it this way was in my trip last week. That trip where I (think I've) left the cable at the hotel.

And I may not get a new one until Monday.

This week sure is going to be long T.T

How big is the file size of borderlands 2 vita psn version?
4.9Gb lol.

I don't understand the question. They aim for 2pm CST but they miss it often. What launch digitally game are you talking about. And also, I've noticed that the more anticipate the title, the earlier it might go up. Search the webstore regularly.

So guys, I deleted my Killzone Shadowfall install since I just sold it to Target. But now I'm downloading it from the PSN store. What? Will I be able to play it when it finishes on my slow ass internet that'll clog up the rest of my downloads now?

Why is Netflix a Gigabyte big on my PS4 ?! Not that I'm complaining, whatever it's doing is probably making it load faster but still !!

I'd rather they actually focused on the fucking Disney as that was what drew me to the series in the first place. But I'd still rather have Star Wars or even Marvel crossovers over the absolutely god-awful Final Fantasy lite storyline they have going on. The fucks I give about evil clones, hearts, and keyblade wielders are firmly in the negative regions. KH3D had like three brand new worlds, one of which was Mickey and the bloody Musketeers.

Give me a Sword in the Stone world, or get out.

Well then, my apologies. I guess I got the times wrong (I just did a quick search, and I kept seeing people say it was 6-9pm EST). No idea why. This is my first time buying something digital at launch (so I'm not informed at all). And the title is Hyperdimension Neptunia PP. It's not really a popular title.

But thanks for the info/tip. Much appreciated.

From what I saw, there are 12 games over 4 years that I want, so that's a game every 4 months. That doesn't sound so tempting, though of course I'm not counting titles that I may enjoy but don't know about at the moment.

That's where I honestly got the most fun out of PS+ games. Because they sometimes have hidden gems that i somehow skipped or overlooked.

Well, my game showed up 30 min ago on PSN. I had a question though. Something I've noticed ever since I got my PSP Slim. Whenever I download something, I just let it run and it will eventually go into sleep mode (where the screen turns off). When I wake it up, I'll notice my download paused. This never happened before on my Vita. I would be able to walk away and just let it download.

Is there something in my settings that keeps pausing the download? Or do I really have to make sure the screen doesn't go to sleep to continue it DL? That doesn't sound right.

EDIT: I have "use Wi-Fi" checked off in Power Save mode. SO hmmm.
