I have been thinking, as many have done so too, that we may be getting some characters related to the trophies (Metroid, Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus) shown in the Smash Direct. I'm willing to bet into that cause.

Banners has nothing to do with veteran. I think all the banners will be taken down two weeks after it showed up, I'm sure Lucario, Diddy and five characters from the direct followed this rule. Not sure about Little Mac's since Diddy is revealed one week after him. So Ike's banner should be taken down tomorrow.
