Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 8: Put mii in, coach

Here's my prediction:

The invitational tournament will be using the official in game tournament mode and more info about it will be given. It will be touted as a big deal. Melee and Brawl both had tournament modes within multiplayer and if MK8 is anything to go by, SSB4 may have a similar tournament feature.

As someone who never played tournament stuff in MK8, can anyone explain or show me how it works?

But that mode hasn't supported that type of FFA before.
 
I can see wave race but why no f zero, smh game is already done, add online and thats it, hell it still looks amazing so you can leave the graphics if you are lazy

I really can't imagine they'd consider Wave Race to bring more money than F-Zero, which at least has had more enthusiast demand than the former. Not that either series is a cash cow, exactly...

I've always felt that in terms of WarioWare character possibilities, Ashley and 9Volt were top tier on potential and Jimmy T was top tier on personality.

I don't own MK8 but from what I understand you can set up recurring tournaments. Lets say every Wednesday night at 8pm you have a tourney. Maybe someone else could go into more detail.

This is pretty much what I mean. I'm predicting (mainly hoping) that tournament mode will get a major overhaul. Things like top two advancing, possibly loser bracket, etc. I'm probably hoping for too much. There is a good chance it will just be another simple tourney mode. I hope since Sakurai has been looking to the competitive side of Smash, that maybe he sees a robust tourney mode being a really great feature.

If that E3 Leak is real, it means a dude took advantage of his drunk booth babe girlfriend and posted confidential info that could put her job at jeopardy.

It really is one of the best seasons of Pokemon. Best Wishes was so terrible beyond belief.


Also guys Blaziken would be terrible if he's in Pokken already. Need some Sceptile action in Smash to represent the 3 starter types.

I think he's a little too busy of a design, but don't mind the concept / character.

Have you guys considered that maybe when Villager down-specials with a tree already out, he just swings the axe for a powerful melee attack?

It'll be interesting to see how they announce it and talk about it though, considering it's probably a fighting game and they already have the massive Smash 4 to talk about with its own tournament at E3. I know they're probably completely different playstyle wise, but it'd still be a bit weird to have two major fighting games shown off at the same time.
 
I wonder if the smash trailer will start the digital event, end it (or both), or be thrown in the middle. Last year they started w/ pokemon x/y, and ended w/ smash + megaman. Smash is no longer a big reveal, so it could very easily open (and then end the direct w/ pac man)

Nah, they'll probably do something like reveal Pac-Man at the kickoff like they did with the February Direct, since the end of the show will probably be saved for Zelda U.

Presumably they will end with a new major game reveal.

God, ending on pacman would be such a hype crusher. I'm not in denial, but I'll be lingering in the anger stage of "pacman in smash" for a long time. I hope that leak was fake.
