The distance was too great. Chrome tried his usual tactic of keeping around the leaders, but just couldn't make the final push in the last quarter mile.

He he, I thought that was an ideal trip for him. Took the last turn s bit wide, but had nothing on the homestretch.
For me, the next triple crown winner will be a closer. If a closer wins the first two legs, they can win the stakes. I thought Menifee was that horse years ago, but no dice. I think he lost the Preakness, which is just too short for closers.
Oh well, maybe next year. I'm glad to know GAF has some horse racing fans. Whenever I get back into it properly, I might try starting a community thread. It's really a beautiful sport, and even though I had no money on him today, I still got that same rush when he crossed the quarter pole. Let's have these kinds of threads more. Maybe one for the breeder's cup. PEACE.

I like horse racing but this triple crown thing gets old for me. I wish they wouldn't act all sad and disappointed. I am sure there are some happy people here. Poor horse I hope they treat it well geez.
