This will be Nintendo's big game a E3.
Hopefully not. I hope its more of a thing like NES remix, and we get at least one "Big" AAA surprise reveal outside of Zelda U.

it would have to get to the existence stage first.
i think the only thing real about this photo is the placement of everything except the art, except for the stuff in the way back.
there's also the possibility this is real as a concept or even as a name, but i really don't believe this image is 100% accurate.
I also feel like it could potentially kill sales on Virtual Console of the old titles when the original levels are inevitably all rebuilt but oh well.
Zelda is going to be Nintendo's big game. I'm expecting the biggest surprise to be NFC related.
Good point.
I tend to think (and hope) this is real, but knowing Nintendo there is likely some type of twist to the concept, and there may be some way of avoiding the concern you raise.
Haha people worrying that it would eat into previous sales by people remaking the old levels - you're assuming they'd let you share your levels in the first place!
So if this is fake then the "leaker" took a real picture of the e3 show floor and then edited in Mario Maker... Why would they do that? Unless this same image from an old e3 is lying around the internet that no one has found yet. If someone really is working at the convention center helping to set up the displays and stuff why risk his job to take a picture and then fake a leak? Seems real to me
Still looks really fake to me.So guys, dost thou count the stitches? Dost thou tapestry-shopped?
You make a good point, if fake who ever took the pic had to make to photoshop or had someone to do it, but why would a person who works there take the time to do that?
No way Jose. An 8-bit level editor will take center stage. I imagine Nintendo will show Zelda off first so it's not upstaged by Mario Maker.

Seriously though, I can't believe people are saying that an 8-bit level editor is going to by Nintendo's biggest game. If that is the case, then Nintendo is fucked.

The same reason people do any fake leak? The lulz.
I would do it!But a person who does building and stage set ups, just doesnt come off as a person who is gonna troll the internet lol, unless they been playing it for a year lol Apply for a job as a LA convention center person, get the job and plan a huge troll haha
The Nintendo that made Wii Music would spend 90 minutes on this. Easily.
if it's real then someone's risking their job anyway.

Never forget that this the same company that ended a PC with virtual fireworks
You joke but deep down you know this could happen.

My hype on this game depends on a lot of factors.
If Nintendo consider it as one of their Megaton and it just being a SMB level remix with NES assets... I'd be pissed. I'd be less pissed if it was a true editor with assets from All Stars or SMW with a lot of options. Would be even more pissed if its the 90 minutes round table 3ds game.
If Nintendo consider it as a 3 to 5 minutes eShop title and is a SMB level editor, I'd be pleased. And I'd be more hyped if it was a true editor with All Stars or SMW assets.
Edit: GAFs detective abilities strikes again. So I guess its fake then. Oh well.
What happened?
Was referring to the post about it being the same hand used previously that's photoshopped in. Maybe Nintendo did that and that proves nothing. Don't know.
I don't see why.
Few games need as long as 90 minutes to discuss...a piece of creation software is more suited to that format than most core games. It's the sort of title where I'd want to hear/see how deep the editing goes...while with most core games I'd be fine with a 2 minute trailer and a detailed press release.
It'd be funny if this were real, but instead of a level maker, it's actually a free runner Mario game and you place blocks and vines and shit to help Mario collect coins and power ups.
No level creator, just stack the 8 bit blocks to get the coins and every 100 coins the background changes to a different theme.
This looks fake. The other one doesn't.I don't see why either. That'd why I'd be pissed if they wasted 90 minutes on it... granted it's not a fake, which to be fair isn't that hard to do. Here's my attempt with very limited skills and Photofiltre:

There's no reason someone couldn't do better than me and looks less fakish considering it's the first time the pic emerged.

smh
gaf use to be about 'Believe'
now I can't believe anymore, why are you guys spending so much time on this lame idea
This looks fake. The other one doesn't.
And you have a game called Mario Maker and the banner for it doesn't have a sprite of Mario anywhere in it? (In addition to half the thing being ground blocks.)
I want it to be true but if it is that's pretty unimpressive marketing materials.
I don't believe that it's true but I can't think of any reason for it to not be legitimate based only in the picture. Maybe bad design for the banner.Of course mine looks fake, but what I'm saying, for someone with the good skills, to do it. It's even easier when the picture quality is crap with a lot of noise (which you can add yourself).

It looks real, hell it SMELLS real, but mah man, I'm doubting it's real.
Just the fact that half of that Mario Maker poster is made of grounds bricks makes my doubts because it's horrible. :/
Wow, awesome if true but knowing Nintendo we probably wont be able to share levels which will kill half the fun.
