Kojima just posted this:

MGSV at MS???

Damnit Kojima.

Hmmm .... so now we have a second offshore base? i was kind of hoping we would get to stroll around Outer Heaven. Maybe later on?

It's great to see the logo, though. I'm relieved to see OH hasn't been retconned :p

If the tone is like this throughout the game, TPP will perfectly connect to MG... this is going to be incredible! Come on Big Boss! Send those child soldiers to the battlefield! Fan the flames of war!

Can't wait for gameplay.

coming 1984?

9/8/14?

8/9/14?

or just Kojima being playful with the game's timeline?

where's my tinfoil hat

No, obviously he uses the YY/MM/DD format. Game is coming out August 4th, 2019.

Heh.

True but never to the degree seen in this trailer. It just feels like kojima is trying too hard to be serious in a world where there is giant robots and Skullface.

I actually like that he is pushing the extremes. One of my favorite things about MGS in general is that the bulk of the series is very normal (infiltrating bases, killing guards, crawling through jungle) with insanity peppered throughout. It's the contrast that really makes it enjoyable as a whole for me. However I'm still expecting some crazy shit and if Kojima doesn't deliver then the balance will be way off and I won't be having as good a time.

My girlfriend caught me playing a MGS game (she is unfamiliar) and asked me why I was interested in it since it seemed to her like I was playing some sort of unexciting military simulator. Then I got to some insanity and she understood.

I think he's just a fall guy,
and Strangelove was the real traitor. Huey was just too blinded by his crush to see through her using him
.

This is my thinking too.
She leaves the base only a little while before shit kicks off. Too convenient, if you ask me. She's probably working on the Patriot AI for Cipher.

You should change your name to InsightfulAssessment.

• Diamond Dogs look batshit crazy.
• Big Boss looks batshit crazy.
• Keifer Sutherland, while awesome, is...I don't know.
• Kojima is an egomaniac I would hate to work for. Seriously, how many times was the word Kojima featured in that trailer? At least a dozen. Worse still, he edited the trailer himself so he, himself, had the first and last word on how many times his name was featured.

Edit: English trailer on Mega.

So no MGSV trailer at the Microsoft conference, interesting.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's exclusive to the Konami conference.

Also, after watching MS' presser, this is still the best trailer of E3 so far.

I'm glad this isn't at some conference wasting time. I'd rather see new games and game play. Hope we get to see the behind closed doors stuff at some point.

Hearing English, Kiefer Sutherland does a fine job and it is nice to know what they are saying even if it was just confirming
what I knew the face powder to be.
This game is going to be awesome so hyped.

After this trailer and GZ, I am officially hyped for MGSV:TPP. However, I will never, ever, be okay with the voice change. Kiefer isn't bad as a VA, but from GZ and this trailer, he just doesn't work with these games. Not to mention hearing him alongside the regular voice cast will always be jarring.

I just can't help but to view these games (GZ and TPP) as separate from the other MGS games.

The part with the charred bodies and bloodied up BB reminded me of Spec Ops, specifically the white phosphorus level. Maybe he's inadvertently committed an atrocity?

Reminded me of that too. Maybe he did do it on accident, but you know eventually his MO is to start conflicts and gather up the orphans left behind by the devastation, maybe this 'inspires' him to start doing that.

Not a chance in hell it looks like that in-game if it's cross-gen.

I fully expect an MGS4-style downgrade when this game becomes playable.
