Obligatory

Liked it for the most part. Few CGI trailers which upsets me, and that stuff about Powers drug on way too long... but man... those games looked so freaking good.

IGN was right. The Last Guardian is dead. it doesn't matter what anyone says. no TGS, no gamescom, no e3 2020. it doesn't matter. it's gone. i'm sorry for doubting your, IGN, and i hope when sony finally confirms that the beast is dead, they issue an apology to IGN as well.

It was good in the middle, peaked when Boyes shouted out to GAF nation. Lets not talk about the rest

Sony's exclusive co marketing stuff was over kill. I was thinking MS was bad with the exclusive DLC content captions but FUCK. they had to have someone endcap every trailer with EXCLUSIVE CONTENT DAY ONE>, EXCLUSIVE BETA, ALPHA, DEMO.

E3 feels dirty. It's for gamestop and Walmart buyers. :(

Bloodbound, Grim Fandango, No Man's Sky, ABZU and Batman: Arkham Knight wore E3 for me. I really liked the MGSV trailer too.

Shame about UC4 trailer not featuring ANY gameplay at all.

If it weren't for that awful mid section with lolmoviesandcomics, I'd be a lot warmer to the conference as a whole. Had a nice selection and a variety of games, but that middle really killed momentum and pacing. Eeeeeuuuugh.

All in all a good conference but damn that whole break between games talking about vitatv and movies and tv.. blah

So.... The Order 1886,Bloodbourne,LBP3,GTAV,Batman,No mans Sky,Last of Us,Uncharted 4,Evolve,Tombraider,MKX,RainbowSix and Ori are all MUST buys for me.

Microsoft: B
EA: D
Ubisoft: A-
Sony C+

Sony loses not just for TLG no-show, but the horrible cocktease of Vib Ribbon. I thought we were getting a PSN release.

I was really disappointed by that conference. They kept talking about diversity, but I felt like I was seeing the same predictable thing over and over again. Aside from Bloodborne and Batman, nothing seemed noteworthy. Everything seemed by the books AAA, exclusive content, "experience," blah blah. Glad I did not buy into next gen yet. Hope Nintendo can pull me back in.

The pacing was so weird. That long sort of lead up to Entwined. And then HEY IT'S OUT RIGHT NOW.

then HEY LITTLE BIG PLANET 3 GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE OH YEAH IT'S A THING THAT EXISTS OH AND IT'S THIS YEAR

Lots of small tech problems kept the show from flowing as nicely as the ms show. But after a while they kept showing so many games that all was forgiven. i thought they were gonna end the show with MK X and was laughing my ass off.

I think Sony did well. Some great looking stuff. A few patchy bits here and there, especially with the Powers stuff - but made up for it with great demos from MKX and Batman, as well as a great looking reveal for Uncharted 4.

Quite a few nice surprises as well.

Let's be honest, we all know TLG is as good as dead - it wasn't going to be shown.

Best conference so far for sure.

Looking forward to seeing what Nintendo has in store.

7/10

There was some amazing stuff shown, and Grim Fandango remastered and coming to the PS4 is a bonafide megaton, but once again, Sony scuppered their own conference with poor pacing. That mid-slump with Layden and the bullshit talk about movies just ground it all to a halt. Unbelievable.

And no Last Guardian shown... again. :'(

Yeah, so... not feeling too good about my PS4 purchase. I wanted lots of reasons to own a PS4, but I got lots of things that were available on PC. I'll take the better looking and cheaper versions, naturally. The one thing there was Metal Gear Solid V. I'd say Grim Fandango, but it seems like it's coming to PC just at a later date.

Great for the people who like Souls games or Naughty Dog's output, but there wasn't a whole lot there that made me drop my jaw.

TLG is pretty much dead now. Or if it's not dead, it'll be a giant disappointment when it comes out and will only sorta resemble the game we thought it would.

It was refreshing to hear Yamaoka's guitars during the Suda51 game. I will say that much.

I liked the Sony conference overall. It lost some steam but really picked up again at the end. I feel like both Sony and MS did a great job today. Great time to be a gamer! Can't wait to see what Nintendo brings us tomorrow!

Right now:

Sony: A

Microsoft: C

Nintendo: ?

Microsoft tried to be the hipster parent and Sony was just cool naturally. The bottom line is that Sony just tried to give variety and trotted out stuff that just felt fresher. Microsoft simply tried too hard to knock a homer out of the park and it did ok. The exclusive content helps but it doesn't make a difference to me with the power disparity between the two. I'll simply wait them out. I've got both consoles now so its all about exclusives for me. Sony just speaks my language better.

Why is everyone so hyped for GTA V remaster? It was a given.

Batman looks AMAZING though! And Uncharted loooked niiiiiiiiiiiceeeeeeeeeeeeeee as hell! But I mean, I still don't think this was better than MS or Ubisoft.

Sony 'won' because, basically, it looks like Sony has all the 3rd party games/support + their 1st party to any casual viewer.

Sony's press conference was a 'killing blow' for MS/Nintendo, imo.

About 4/10ths of the way through that conference, I thought Sony bested Microsoft as the best conference today but it took a sharp, sharp nosedive. They started doing everything wrong MS did last year, and I don't particularly care for some of the "big" reveals closer to the end. I'm not so sure if it's the best anymore, but Sony certainly made the biggest impact and the boldest impression at the start.

Sony had much more games I was interested in than MS, but their conference had much worse pacing and the TV talk almost put me to sleep.

And lol, no TLG. Russia redeemed.
When the fuck are they gonna show this game dammit. :(
